hello android folks!! i used to have windows mobile then I upgraded to windows phone.. and those apps listed below are not on the windows phone 7, or at least you need to pay like Remote Desktop which is free in WM, and now I am planning to have android phone.. now my question is, is there any equivalent softwares on the android, similar apps listed below:
Resco Explorer (File explorer with encrypt/decrypt functionality)
NaviComputer (Offline GPS Map, Can download Maps using DesktopPC)
Ringo (Individual Message Ringtone)
Remote Desktop

I use Splash ID with Splash Desktop for syncing....
Keepass is a good app, and there are also versions for PC / Linux
This is probably a n00b question (which is appropriate since I'm a n00b . . .) but I have a home server running Win7. All my movies and photos and music are on it. I have no problems using USB to transfer media to my Streak (and to my awesome, dirt cheap Chinese tablet), but it would be great to be able to just connect to my network shares and copy the files over the WiFi. Is there an Android app that can do this? Paid apps OK.
If you just want to copy the files you can use ES File Explorer, SwiFTP, AndFTP, or you can turn your phone into a Samba server and mount your SD Card as a network share and use windows explorer to copy to your phone.
ES Explorer worked great getting to FTP server. Getting to a LAN computer required me to enter the LAN IP address as a "server" and also woked fine.

I would like to know what kind of Remote Desktop app do you use (if you are using one). I am not asking for those that is remote-ing from phone to control your desktop but more of those that you access your phone data/sms/files via the browser. Currently I know if Remote Desktop by KOĊAKOWSKI DAMIAN and the other Remote Web Desktop by SMARTDOG STUDIO.
Recommendations please?

Is there any apps out there for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 that work like Motocast or Zumocast? I've got the remote desktop app Splashtop setup, but was wondering if there is a simpler app that allowed you to access files on my work computer via the web?

So, you just want to access files from your work computer on your tab? If that's all, most file managers are able to access shared files over LAN/WAN (I use it all the time for music/pictures/stuff computer).
Teamviewer is just another remote desktop app. Ubuntu one is just a cloud service. And I need to access my files anywhere, not just when i'm on a LAN/wan. The problem with a cloud service is th I have thousands pdf's, spreadsheets, and photos on my workstation and uploading them all a cloud and them having to keep updating that cloud daily is not feasible.
Motocast works flawless in that anywhere you have web access you can access a PC that is on and running the client in the background. Just wondering if there is an app like that that works for the Samsung galaxy tab 10.1...
You could set a FTP server (I recommend SFTP for security) on your workstation and use an app like AndFTP.
try Pocket Cloud
Dropbox is simplest solution. Put your files in Dropbox and they are everywhere.

Just thought I'd mention, WAN is wide area network (aka internet), not WLAN (wireless LAN).
So using shares (or FTP/SFTP) you can easily access all your files, you can even mount them so that tab sees them as "local" (useful for quite some apps that don't support network shares).

You 'just' create a folder and 'just' drop your files there. How hard is that? Dropbox is not something physical that you have to do anything to it daily. Their is no hard labor involved. You definitely need paid service for thousands and thousands of your files. Just like that.

Another option that helped me was pocketcloud explore. Because you have the pocketCloud remote desktop but this is a separate app that will let you just access, view, and download all your files. It's 1 of the closest things motocast I could find.
Hi Everyone
Can anyone suggest a program that i can view ALL my phone folders from my pc via wifi.
Looking for an application like 'dropspot'.
i dont mind if the app connects via smb, ftp or http.
i would preferably like the app to be for non rooted phones (so my missus can use this as well).
So far, my search has ended with all applications just being able to browse the 'SDcard' folder.
i have tried 'Andreas Liebig' and 'The Olive Tree' ftp server programs but neither of them are as good as 'dropspot'
Can anyone suggest an alternative (free/paid) to 'dropspot'???

A couple more to ponder over. There is Wifi File Explorer Pro and Wifi File Transfer Pro. You just need to enter a address in your pc browser to view your phones files. Already mentioned AirDroid is particularly good because it is free and does alot more.
Just to add, these are from the play store.
