I've had this same problem. It started the exact same way yours is acting. (glitchy touchscreen when plugged in) and then it started getting worse. Now my touchscreen doesn't work at all (plugged in or not). I've Googled it and it appears my digitizer has gone bad or something like that.
Have you recently sat on your flyer or anything ?

Hi.Gumby..I've also complaint it to the store but he showed me something, he turn on the tube light on his display store and put my flyer near it.and it showed me some massive electric jerk on my touch test application.he said it happened because of bad electric installation which is not properly grounded. In the mean time I accept that reasoning but I'll keep looking more reasonable answer.

I've seen this happen to many devices, not just the flyer/view. Most often I see it with chargers plugged into car outlets. I've even seen it on an iPad ( and got into a huge argument over whether an iPad sync cable is the same as an iPhone sync cable, they are, but the dude swore up and down it was because he was using the wrong cable).
If the power source is glitchy or spikey, this will happen. An improperly grounded outlet could easily do it.
Hi, quickquest..thanks for the advice..I think that's the reason behind this lag.now i'm trying to figure out how to make my outlet have a proper grounding

My 3vo's micro USB is giving me problems charging. Im a former owner of the EVO 4g and never had a problem with it. I got a my 3vo from the early premier sales online. Let's hope this is not a common thing.

I hope not too haf two evo4g that port when bad. I hoped being on side on 3vo that was one reason it was moved beside battery.
This "weak micro USB port" issue would be what...? "You said it was "giving me problems charging"...what kinds of problems?
The micro USB cable that came with the Evo 3D doesn't even fit into my phone.
I'm currently using the old evo 4g cable.
I had issues with USB ports a lot on the OG Evo...Sprint tried telling me it was my fault a couple times even though it was a known issue...Telling me I had to go through insurance...
Anyway...On the 3vo I find that my Best Buy chargers have trouble working....My OEM charger is fine...

The port was only charging when it was untouched and in a specific position. It would flash from charging to connect charger as I adjusted cable to the sweet spot. Now it won't charge at all no matter how I set the cable into it. The cable has enough play to rock in all directions. My battery is almost done and this might be my last post until I have my 3vo replaced tomorrow.

Bad charging port
I had a bad one on my OG EVO. Looks like I have the same on my 3d. Need to block out a day to be without phone, unroot etc to bring to sprint.
I have the same issue but only with HTC cables. I have a generic one I use at work that works perfect. My wifes og evo cable gives me the same problem. I can't tell if its the cables or my phone. I think cables though because the generic one I have works fine.

Accidentally sat on the flyer (I'm not fat, my butt just isn't tablet friendly) and now I have a discolored area in the middle of the screen that doesn't go away when the screen is off. Also, the touchscreen is wonky around there. I broke it, didn't I?

Search the posts. There are a few possible fixes here.
Sounds like you had the same problem I did. Go to this thread and read through some of the fixes. The suction cup worked the best for me

You're right, it did work! I appreciate it. Maybe there should be a sticky on this issue...

I did the same thing but I just waited and eventually it went away.

Discaimer: I'm apologizing in advance of this seems like a stupid question or post.
I noticed that my search button partly illuminates when I first turn on my phone if it's completely off. Once the phone is fully booted and my home screen comes on all of the other buttons light up properly as well as the search button.
It just seems a little odd, but isn't causing any problems. Anyone else have this? I'm just hoping it's not a sign of potential hardware problems. (Yes I have insurance but enjoy full root with hboot 1.4)

Mine too. I was always kinda curious about whether it was common or not, but it never really bothered me too much
Yes, its normal. They should have got that fixed before finalizing this model.
Via My HTC Evo 3D On The Now Network From Sprint.
Mine is the same way as well. It's a light leakage. If I use one of the kernels with dim LEDs, my buttons look like ass because of this. Most people can lower their value to 2 (in ..../button-backlight/currents), while I can only lower mine to 14 before it starts looking dumb.
Mine is most prominent when in recovery. Only time I notice it.

Cool, thanks for all the replies. Happy to know it's common.
By the way it's nice to see some fellow Evo/Hero guys in here. I recognize Leukay and Tailsthecat from one of those 2 forums. Don't know you guys personally but nice to see you in here. Actually I think I recognize Rydah803 and Ducky1131 too so good to see you all here.

I've noticed this too. It does make the phone look like crap when the LEDs are off.
It's light "bleed" from the screen to the search button. it most visible in recovery, probably because your screen is completely white and it's easy to see the white light bleed.
Kinda sad that HTC didn't fix this issue before releasing the phone.. Cheap internal build quality, perhaps?
I think it may be due to the fact that they used some sort of clear plastic to put together the inside. If you open the batterycover you can see what I'm talking about.
Sent from my HTC Flyer P510e using Tapatalk
I got it too and my phone is a recently assembled device on one of the latest h boot builds. Doubt this will be fixed so i guess we live with it...
Same with me I thought only i have that issue.
Seems like HTC did a bad job in this area. I also have hardware build 0002 so I guess it's an issue with that build.

Hi, my touchscreen is useless when my charger or headphones is plugged in on my S X S. It thinks I'm touching everywhere on the bottom of the screen. When nothing is connected then it's 100% fine. Anyone else having these problems?

Your charger and/or cable are not original - am I right?

I kind of thought that was the issue. My arc was not on a standard lead.
My XperiaS is on standard cable and does not have this problem.

I just had this problem today when connected to an Audio Technica headphone. Maybe there are some short circuit happened that caused this problem?

Defective cable perhaps. Just tried my XperiaS cable in my arc and it appears fine.

New doesn't mean they aren't defective.
It means it has a flaw made in production, not that they are old or worn.
I have this same problem. No matter what I plug in. It can be charger, aux cable, headphones. All the same effect. It long presses stuff at the bottom. Meaning the 3 capacitive buttons, 4 app shortcuts on launcher and usually the space bar. It's truly annoying

well since it seems only a few people are experiencing it, I don't think it's a normal issue with the device...
I switch between Sony/BB/Whatever I have laying around for cables all the time and have never experienced this issue (along with various headphone cables: Sennheiser, Sony). It sounds like a device fault :/.
Have you by chance posted something on the Sony forums about it?

This issue is normal when the charger is plugged in, but I've never heard it in conjunction with headphones.
It is because of very low parasitic currents which occur if you connect your device with the mains (= charge it).
If the transformer is of high quality, those currents are near zero and of course it's also a cable issue. Small manufacturing tolerances can cause high impacts on that.
Seems people are having this problem with multiple Xperia devices and with this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.metalev.multitouch.visualizer2
You can clearly notice the problem. Multitouch itself hardly works when plugged in, doesn't even register 2 fingers. But when unplugged it recognizes 7 fingers!
I FOUND THE POSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION FOR IT!!
In my case I removed the shatterproof sheet that is preinstalled because I stupidly scratched it. I failed at putting on 2 (two!) screenprotectors. So I decided to call it off and use it without a protector.
When testing with the Multi-touch app, you clearly see a difference in behavior when connected to the charger, headphones or any other device.
First I tried with a small piece of cloth between my screen and finger and saw great improvement. I had some old Nintendo DS screen protectors lying around and tested with those too on my screen. And surprise surprise. All problems were gone.
So my tip to all for this is:
Try a screenprotector on first as it might fix your problem!
DAMN! Why did I remove mine??
Edit: I'm getting the exact same result

I am also experiencing this issue..and this is annoying. VERY VERY ANNOYING!
I play games on my phone like all the time and damn i cnt do it with the charger connected!
Its a deal breaker for me
I have a problem with the HTC original charging cable. If I bend it even a little the phone stops charging. Has anyone else got that problem, and is there ANY fix to it or should I buy a new cable. The bending issue gets bigger n bigger every day :S
