[Q] Apps Re Arranging - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, first post here. Long time reader, and this site has been amazing, the search function and wealth of knowledge here is incredible. Well, I've flashed my Galaxy s2 a couple of times and am currently on XXKI4. It was an Optus branded unlocked phone, and thanks to you fellas here, it's a slick, smooth phone with no bloatware.
So, this ones stumped me, and haven't found it so far, but when I turn my phone off, or clear the memory, two apps in the apps drawer get mixed up. Now, again thanks to XDA, I found if you move some apps to SD, this can happen, so I moved offending apps back to internal, but the two that always move are TASKS, and TASK MANAGER. I always have to put them back, as I keep my apps in alphabetical order, and it's getting annoying. These two are obviously a system app, and have no option to move them in Tiranium Backup PRO.
Anybody have any ideas.
Thanks in advance,
Mark.

Do you not think having a signature 700px high is a bit overkill?

Hey thanks for the tip on AppZorter. Well, when I looked it up, the description in the app gave me the tip.
What I did was go to Settings>Applications>Running Services then clicked on the "All" tab. Scroll down to TwLauncher and cleared the data. I had to rearrange everything again, but now I can clear memory, or reboot phone, and everything stays as it is. I didn't bother downloading the app, as I don't have too much on the phone, so arranging stuff myself is a 2-3 minute job.
I hope this helps someone else.
Mark.

Can we change the icon set without touching anything else?

Hi devs/experts,
I am extremely excited about the S3 but my only gripe is that the icons (phone, messaging, contacts) etc look very dated.
Fortunately it's android, so we can change them (I assume).

}
So can we change them without keeping everything else in the phone stock?
If there's a solution to this quickly then I will do it the first thing after I get the phone.
Thanks!
Should be in the Q&A section........as far as i know NO you can not change touchwiz icons.
maybe someone else can shed more light on this for you though.
It is possible with other launchers adw for example
moved to q & a
use something like apex or nova launcher =)

This is dependent on the launcher, and for Samsung's launcher, I don't think so.
Of course, with root explorer, all things are possible.
You can do it, and here are the instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14091873&postcount=315

Rogue apps?

In my settings under manage applications, I have 2 apps (wolfram alpha and blood brothers) that seem to have a slight... problem.

}
According to link2sd and launching blood brothers from a homescreen shortcut, those 2 apps are not installed. Yet, when I sideload blood brothers (not officially compatible with my phone but works nevertheless) it gives me the prompt saying this app will replace another app and all data will be saved. Then I hit install and it says "application not installed"
So I decided to open up settings and uninstall them from there, but it FCs every time I tap on either one of them.
Then, I went into /data/app, deleted both apks, went into /data/sdext2/data and deleted the data files for both of them. I also went into /data/data to delete all data. I also think there were apks in /data/sdext2 which I deleted. Anyhow, from screenie you can see both apps have 0.00 bytes of storage taken up, which I assume means I've cleared everything.
But they're still there, I want to use the apps and its annoying me to have those show up in settings.
So I went into TiBackup. They didn't show up. Like stated before, link2sd said nothing.
The Play Store says wolfram alpha is uninstalled, but here's the weird thing. I refunded the app (because it is not worth $3!) And it has this weird residue left over. Couldn't care less about it right now, but gimme blood brothers!
Any ideas as to what could have caused this?

What is the equivalent cp usb for d405n? I only see Diag Settings and Data Settings!

[Q] Google Account Apps Management

Im looking for an app or the way to manager account apps. I have a lot of apps that were downloaded and installed but currently not used or even not welcomed. I can remotely delete them from the account by pressing DELETE button in MY APPS in Google Store, like on screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But this way is a pain in the ass and Im looking for more easier way to delete unneeded apps. There is no way to do this via google store web page on PC
I'm affraid this ain't possible.
I also have been checking the Play Store website, but even there you can't remove them from the list.
On the other hand, why is it irritating you? You can easily see which apps you have installed in Settings > Apps
It is irritating cause I cant delete them. I just want to get rid of them from my account history.
I know I can manage apps for example from Titanium Backup but only those installed

There's a big request going on since a long time. And it seems Google doesn't really care yet...

I see. April 2012. Google doesnt even care. But I thought about some independent app which could exist.
thanks for information
I have found the way to remove it fast. Its kinda stupid but who though about such thing?
Long press on one app, then multiselect other apps. Like selecting few elements then DELETE button
I got rid off 2000 unused apps

Upgraded to 4.3 and now notification tray gets false "Download Complete" notifiers???

Upgraded to 4.3 and now notification tray gets false "Download Complete" notifiers???
I'm hoping someone knows what's going on here and can help asap...
I upgraded my Sprint SGS3 using Samsung Keis the other day and all seems well, except this one big issue. Randomly (it seems whenever I get a notification, or the connection state changes, or I plug into power)the notification bar fills up with the "Download Complete" msgs. This is an issue because I can't see legit notifications in the bar, and/or I have to scroll to the bottom to see anything.
These file names *ARE* for files I had downloaded in the past, but not since well before the upgrade. I have gone so far as to delete the 'Downloads' folder altogether, no dice. Also, it isn't actually downloading the files again, just saying it did...
Any idea how I can stop this? Rebooting the phone is not helping at all. Is there maybe a cache somewhere I can clear that would help? This is a new SGS3 (replacement), so I just got finished resetting up my layout and all my apps and stuff, so I would **REALLY** like to avoid wiping it to factory...
Any help is appreciated. Thank You... :good:

Possible Adware appcloud_oobe_motorola-release_V6.3.23.0. apk on Motorola Phones

Hi guys,
I hope everyone is doing well!
Recently, I saw this app appcloud_oobe_motorola automatically downloaded and installed on my phone (Moto Z2 Play) in com.aura.oobe.ml file folder. Does anyone has any idea why this app is getting installed automatically? I feel this is an adware but not sure about it. With the name, it seems like a legit motorola app.
Does anyone else saw this app on their phone? I have even factory resetted my phone a couple of times but still this app gets downloaded and installed automatically.
I would really appreciate it if someone could share any info regarding this apk
Thanks in advance and I look forward to your replies.
it turns out that AppCloud is a complete piece of junk that’s trying to install unwanted apps on your device.
If you want to remove this crapware completely, then simply select Uninstall from the bottom of the screen, as shown below

Thanks for your reply! Actually, the problem is it is getting installed again automatically after uninstalling which is insane. I have even uploaded the apk on virustotal to check whether there is a virus and the results were clean. I am seeing this apk on my device for the last 10 months when I downloaded another apk from a website before that I have never seen this on my device. I have even factory resetted my device a couple of times and still this apk gets installed.
Anyone else who has any insights on this
