[Q] Check in at on Latitude - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I want to define my location on my xperia mini sk7i but this message appear
"Unable to find your location, please try again". when i check in on latitude.
- GPS is on and Internet available.

if you're in an unroofed place it should work. having internet connection makes it even faster to recognize your location.

of course it`s roofed place. (india, Ghaziabad city) . but My friend`s latitude is working fine Samsung galaxy S with android. but i don`t know why

did u signed in your Gmail account? as you know it works with your Gmail account

maybe, it's because of your operator. but if you connect via wifi and problem still is the same then operator isn't the problem
what's your Google maps version?

[Q] Samsung Dive Call Forward Feature not working with New SIM

Here's the problem.
I start using my SGS2 with my older SIM (lets call it SIM1), and all features of SamsungDive worked. Later, I got my number ported to new Service Provider and got new SIM (lets call it SIM2).
Now from SamsungDive account all remote features are working, except Call/Message Forwarding. When I click on Call/Message Forwarding in SamsungDive I get following Notification:
"After the SIM card of the mobile is changed, you cannot use the forwarding function in the SamsungDive service."
My understanding is that SamsungDive is not aware that now SIM2 is my primary SIM. How do I fix it? I have tried following:
1. Tried Deleting account from SamsungDive: It says its deleted but I am able to log in again
2. Tried Removing Samsung Account from SGS2, but it failed, it say other apps are using this account and only way i can do it by restoring factory defaults. Don't want to do that.
Please help.

The IEMI number is device-specific - nothing at all to do with the SIM card.
Did anybody find a solution for this?
IMSI not IMEI

Same problem here, I have Samsung Galaxy Note N7000.. I guess it's about he meant the IMSI, which is unique per SIM card, just like the IMEI for the mobile device
Samsung Dive Call forward(solved)
Dear guys, I manage to get it done. Just remove your Samsung Account( not Google account) in your phone (setting --> account), and after that re-sign in the account again you Samsung Account. After that log into SamsungDive and you will notice your device is without phone numbers. Enter your current phone number and there you go :good:

Gmail sync over 3G doesn't seem to work for me

I noticed that I don't receive emails on gmail while connected to 3G. Works fine on wifi. 3G also works fine (for example if i open the browser i can browse fine and even if I manually sync gmail i receive the emails) I just never get the notifications. This also seems to be the case with other apps like facebook.
Is there some setting somewhere I could be missing?
I have sync on for both google account and facebook.
any ideas?
is it possible this is operator dependent? I have a friend with Galaxy S2 and has the same issue.
(also can a moderator please move this topic to Q&A)
Could be APN related. I had to remove proxy yo get tapatalk to work amongst other things.
Do your APN use a proxy? Try remove proxy and proxy port. Write em down first, in case it doesn't help.

I checked, no proxies set - so thats not the case.
I did a factory reset, went through the setup process adding only samsung and google accounts. I tested it by sending an email to myself, while connected to wifi i got the notification instantly, I disconnected wifi and checked that i can access the web through the browser, then sent another email to myself and got no notification.
I read somewhere that the connection bars should be blue if there is a connection to google services. is this true for the s3 stock rom ?
ok i fixed the problem. for anyone else who might have the same issue in the future (i guess on any android ICS based phone) the problem is caused by incorrect APN settings, the default ones the operator shows on the phone were wrong, i simply had to add a new APN with APN Name: internet and no other settings (I assume this is operator dependent)
The APN should be stored on your SIM-card and can usally be requested through USSD-code to have a configuration SMS sent by your provider.
Alternatively you can just call them and request a configuration SMS.

Yes. However note that some providers are so sneaky (and/or lazy) as to have multiple access points which are billed differently. So check with your operator if that is actually the correct one, not that you are billed per Kilobyte and get the shocker of your life with the next bill.

Yes
i have the same problem, I have checked my apn and them are correct, but some applications like whatsapp or facebook only work well with wifi, them only work from time to time with data.
I thing it might have something to do when the mobile goes to sleep it can't recover the connection, is it possible?
I found the problem. The problem was APN. I had old apn so network dint worked. If sameone have this problem just ask your carrier for configuration settings by typing sms or calling.

[Solved] Cyanogenmod cannot connect to data network on Bmobile (MVNO)

I've brought a Atrix and tried to install a ROM from cyanogenmod. It's the CM10 for atrix made by epinter. It's not an official one, but most people said it's OK. Everything worked great.
However, it cannot connect to the data network, it keep showing "Connecting". I tried to ask the carrier, and they said that my cellphone was trying to connect to their network, but with a wrong username/password. I've checked the informations a lot of times.
I tried several versions of cyanogenmod, CM10 and CM10.1 and even a stable CM7, but none could connect.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
edit: I can do/get calls and messages. On a stock ROM it works fine.
ps.: My carrier is Japan Bmobile, which uses the NTT Docomo network. My phone says that my carrier is Docomo, but the APN is from Bmobile.

Ok. So you can connect to the network (ie, you can make phone calls), but you can't connect to the internet?
you got 2 options: either create the apn manually (the settings must be all over the internet), or ask them to push it to your cellphone. My carrier can do this, and you don't need to configure anything else.

Yes, I can make calls and send messages.
When they sent me the SIM card, they also send the APN information. I had to configure it manually.
Now, I'm using a stock ROM. After I inserted the APN manually, it connects. But it's a old version of Android (2.3.4), and since it sucks, I would like to try to use a newer version.
Must be something related to the carrier. Because I set the apn manually just to try, on cm10.1, and it connects fine.

Good Point, Somehow I skipped that part of your answer. Nope, it's a full blown carrier
Thanks for your promptly help.
I saw somewhere that there's a problem with android and MVNOs. I don't know exactly why they are considered as a roaming network. I'll try to flash it again on weekend and test it using roaming options.
edit: Just try it again, and it failed. According to android I'm not in roaming as the other people on internet said they were when using a MVNO.
I just found how to fix it in other page.
It seems to be a problem with a lot of Motorola devices.
To fix it, you have to force the APN user and password.
In order to do that, you have to edit the file "/system/etc/ppp/peers/pppd-ril.options" (requires root)
...
user [email protected] → user [email protected]
password NotUsed → password bmobile
...
After that, it worked perfectly.
