What is the likelihood that we will see MIUI on the SGA? Jusada made a very nice MIUI-looking CM7 ROM (apart from the fact that it's covered in Chinese writing lol) but the actual thing would be a awesome. Thanks guys =)

Dont see it happening. Many have tryed and failed to port to mdpi. Its just not made for it.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Miui devs not show any sign to port for ace even after hard trying in poll
if they decide to port then have to port more mdpi device as have to make all things for mdpi from start including themes well so they do only if they decide to port more mdpi phones not only for ace
if they not port in 2-3 months then i think they close doors for mdpi forever from their side as lots new hdpi phones come with ics at same price of ace
so they not port to mdpi (my thoughts but its logical)
so all hopes depend on our devs to port
now happy with cm and myui2
Thanks guys =)

Yeah... Source code is already released.
MIUI source code released here https://github.com/MiCode.
Devs can observe it and try to make out something but I don't think its complete code but MIUI promised to realease more code.

Will we ever see a real port of sense ? Not that i am a huge fan of it but i can say its nice im sure other users like it too we have seen all kind of roms in the dev section but we didn't see a single sense rom / port attempt i saw an honeycomb port attempt but the project kinda died and now im hoping zdzihu could take care of this since he's leaving the forum and i know he could do it because he's a beast .

Hey ACE-users,
Some of you contacted me and requested if i would like to develope for the Galaxy ACE and help you to solve some problems. Because of this and because of the fact that a friend of someone out of our Team bought one I started developing.
Problem is that we have not really a device we can use for developeing (we can´t use our friends every time ^^) and especially things like ICS Porting or Kernel developing needs one (we must test the files for working first).
So now BlockBuster Team would like to know if the user community here is interested in donating a device to us for development.
I mostly developed for the Galaxy S before, but also for Galaxy SLC (http://www.xda-developers.com/android/ics-ported-to-galaxy-s-i9003/) Galaxy 3... Mostly I´m developing by myself (kernel, scripts, tweaks, custom roms) but I teach other people who want to learn developing, too (like 5pace) . Check out my Threads, my Tutorials and our Homepage. I´m currently waiting for Galaxy S 3 release, so i´ve now the time for your device.
So what do the users of this community think? Let us know your opinion in this thread. If you want we can create a Paypal account and you can start to donate.
Maybe there´s someone here who doesn´t need his Galaxy ACE any longer - if it´s working it would be the easiest way for us to become one if you send it to us.

@Mods: I wasn´t sure if i should post this in Developement section. Finally i posted it here cause it´s a request - something like a quuestion If you think it´sin the wrong one feel free to move it
Up for you.
Please remember, the users of 'your' S5830 forums contacted me...
BTW, any people that might want to help me with a ICS port?

Don't think we should port it at the moment. 1, it's just an sdk and 2, I believe it's for OMAP processors at the moment. Wait for source?

You may refer one person per each post with a little backup words, on why did you choose him ?
The point of this question is to find that skilled developer and try to know how he started on developing apps so we can try do the same as he did

Ps: Dont forget to link his profile and his work too.

Im sure those ports are using CYANOGENS code. So, with that said, it is by far Cyanogen. 99% of the custom ROM's use code from cyanogenmod.
I admire cotulla because of what he has done for the hd2, but I'm more than sure we have devs equally and more talented, just don't know them.

I couldn't agree more. All of the developers have their own niche. There are ROM devs, kernel devs, app developers.
Absolutely no offence to the op . It's kind of like asking who makes the best car parts (best analogy I could come up with off the top of my head ). There are so many parts that go into making that car work.
Edit: Thinking about it, maybe a better question would be "Who are some developers that you would like to recognize as being just plain awesome at what they do?" These are the people who do their best to improve the community by dedicating hours of their lives to giving away the cool "thing" they made without expecting anything in return. There are so many of those people around here.
Dsixda because he created such a wonderful kitchen for all of us and made Porting ROMs a breeze
The title says it all, anybody working on a public release that actually works? I tried with help to port my own, but it turns out I'm not smart enough to get it stable. There was a build on XDA, it got shut down. There's another build by a US MIUI site, but it is getting minimal support. Any good news for us MIUI fans¿

WTF is a "Banned Developer"? Why should I care if a Dev is accused of Kanging? Its OK for a dev to use and modify a manufactures software and not to modify and use another dev’s work?

He was banned for using a puppet account after his previous account was banned. Not necessarily for Kanging anything.

well we all know that XDA forums is a way to communicate with people all around the world and share opinions and problems.
few days ago, this question cross my mind, so i decide to disuss this question with you my friends.
first, thanks for the developers of our ACE for making plenty of amazing roms.
and with all the respect to them, i'd like to ask them(not all of them) ,that why dont you continue your roms to reach the stable level, and make new another rom instead, so roms become uncompleted, and the Forum become overflow.
so please give me your answers , to know your point of view

i will tell you why developers quit their Rom
because when it is on v1 two or three guys walk in and start bad comments and screwing it up for everyone and that kills the development inside the dev just because it was a Rom with a few bugs and not too much features they don't even let the developer make some updates first before judging

That's just half true. These days were over when the thread for ace of spades ROM was closed. But didn't Trent Turvey return with geared android ? The truth is, some people sold their ace, some became busy with life & some discontinue their project because a new ROM with better stability & performance arrived ( For eg., Jellaxy team got off when Wayland_ace brought up cm10.1 ). In any case, some people leave & some new people come. We can just bid them farewell & hope that they return someday. Welcome to the ace forums !

beside another reason is galaxy S4
even in the galaxy S3 thread we lost a lot of developers to the S4 devs want better hardware to work with it seems
most also tAke time between updates
like few nonths
so they hav extra time to create some new stuff
and also most cant test new updates or the roms are already pretty stable/ nothing can be improved

Everything has its peak and from there it's a downward slope... Ace is an old device, it launched 2.5yrs ago and very few people use te same device for such a long time so obviously the devs themselves have to move on.
Even my device is 2 yrs n 4 mnths old, am plannin to buy a new one soon, similarly v all will move out. Who would develop, mod, contribute, test and for whom!

The Galaxy Ace wasn't that much of a flagship, yet it lasted so long. This device is lucky.

Well hv u seen those bad ROMs? The 'devs'' just simply add a new launcher/file explorer/a theme on the market and release their ROMs....that's the reason why ppl dislike them lol

I soo agree with your statement. I wanted to release so many jelly bean and cm9 roms for ace which would be built exclusively for testers but some noobs thought it was the same work as earlier roms.So I just wanna conclude by saying all cm9 or JB roms would look exactly the same.
