[Q] Where do I post bug lists I find? - TouchPad General

I have CM7 2.1 loaded and am collating a list of bugs or things I don't think work right.
Which forum should I post them to?
Alan

So, if I post in the wrong forum I get flamed. If I ask the question before I post, no-one answers.
Seems a little inconsistant to me. But hey, what do I know.

It won't do you any good posting them here. If you go to the official thread on RootzWiki, there is a link to a bug tracker.

people seem to think that if they post in "development" that they will be answered by a "developer"....i can assure you that this will not happen.....in fact, based on peoples attitudes, your question is LESS likely to be answered if posted in development (and this is not a "developers" question)
always put questions in Q&A, so you dont get *****ed at
now unfortunately i do not know what this file is, what ROM/kernel are you running first off?

help me

I have problems with root htc legend 2.2, or help me
First of all: WRONG FORUM!!! We have a Q&A section and it's not there for no reason...
Second of all: be specific when you ask your question. No one can help you this way.
So, the steps you should take:
- Open new topic in the Q&A section
- Post a more specific question there.
Dude, no one made you a moderator. Report the thread and don't bump your post count with forum etiquette rants.

uhhm you bumped an 8day old tread with a useless post (that other post had info) so who is boosting post count here? ..
yeah that's what i thought so as well
just saying, just chill and help other people on the forum where you can, or at least let others do it and don't post stuff like that
and btw don't flame on me for pointing in the right direction
That other post had no relevant information at all. Sheesh, I hate arguing with kids.

have you made your goldcard?

I wish to root my THUNDERBOLT after last night's gb update. Where do I look?

As the title states. Can I root my phone going off of last night's update? If so, where should I look?
Thanks!
Check the Q/A thread at the top of this subforum. It should have info regarding Revolutionary that should work for you, I believe.
I will never understand why people wait on OTAs and THEN want to root. I can't think of a time when an OTA ever made it easier since exploits are "usually" removed/patched. Add that to the fact that the user could have rooted by an already known working method prior to an OTA and still flashed a leak of the official release before it was ever even pushed out. I suppose it makes sense for someone that just bought their phone but otherwise
Yes, the Revolutionary tool should work just fine. http://revolutionary.io/
See this thread for more info on rooting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996616

This revolutionary method has been confirmed working, saw on another forum as well but won't post the link as I believe against rules.

This is easily the most unnecessary thread I've seen in a LONG time. You had to look right at a number of stickied threads that would have answered this question.
Revolutionary does work after the GB update, I rooted my Thunderbolt yesterday, S-off,
DL Recovery, flashed the SU zip file. Took all but 10 minutes. Working great.
Someone should try and count up the number of "I updated to GB and want to know how to root" threads

Yeah, I thought about that. But, I'd like to point out that using the search feature isn't optional, it's kinda in the rules and demanded.
If you took the time to type out those replies, you might as well have just searched this forum yourself and posted the link, as well as telling them what they should do in the future. Swfreak wins this round. Then have the thread closed.

1st post by this member and more helpful than many other members around here...
i understand forums have these search options and stickies and what not but reality is... most people don't/forget/not aware/don't care that the answer is around here somewhere even if it's right in front of them.
In fact 99% of the time any question that is asked the answer lays somewhere in this forum. so what? what's another thread that was posted in the correct sub-forum called "Thunderbolt Q&A".
Hell what's the point of this sub-forum anyways if members are not gonna give answers but DIY smart ass remarks.
at least he knew enough to post the question in the right sub forum, lol.
btw, how is the new ota? i dont know if im going to try it.

uh....... The link is in my sig!!!! Just me posting 10 characters answers the question!!!!
I always wondered why there are two sub-forums, Q&A and General. Then I looked closer and the one is for "questions" (and answers obviously) and the other is for discussion.... So, there should be NO questions in the General forum, right ?
Kinda silly, methinks. Combine 'em into one, I say.

Amen. I hope that's not trolling. I am sort of new to this posting thing Don;t know if this is the right forum, but I appreciate the help you all give to us new guys. I do agree about the "search" thing though.
Thanks and my 2 cents
Thanks for the info. I did use search to find my answer, and that's what I got. Let me first say that I am very appreciative of all of the time you guys spend here helping out the less knowledgeable. Now for the other...
You guys are obviously here to gain info and to give...right?
So I don't understand why so many of you insist on bashing newbies when they don't do things exactly right. I would just like to remind you that at one time you were also a newbie, and probably did not post in the right forum or just maybe posted a question that had already been asked! Let's take what our mother's taught us..."If you don't have anything nice to say," you now the rest...
I know that I have been reading these forums and have spent hours and hours trying to find the answers I was/am looking for. And sometimes I just want a direct answer to my specific question...though I dare not post a question fearing that I get flamed because it *may* be posted elsewhere...
In closing, please just try to be nice...it's not the end of the world if there is more than one place the same question is answered. Just reply with the link, and maybe the person will realize to do a search for his next question...
Thanks for listening... and please, don't flame me

SGS2 ATT Official Stock ROM 2.3.4

Hi,
I have been searching the forum for ATT Official 2.3.4 stock ROM. I am new to Android and planning to put in a Custom ROM in my SGS2. But before I do that, I wanted to have the Official ATT 2.3.4 ROM so that in case any issues I can flash that back. Also I did read about keeping the flash counter intact. I primarily want to be prepared before I start with it. Please share if there is a link available.
Thanks
Seriously? The Development forum is only 4 pages long and you're too lazy to even skim thread titles there?
I suggest you go back and read the XDA rules again. Search before posting.

I was looking through the development forum as well and did find out there were some ROMs which were already rooted. I was looking for a unrooted ROM and maybe would have missed when I was looking through. That does not mean I am lazy... I am new here and did ask for help after trying!

Your reactive comment is really uncalled for. People are here to help, and they do not get paid to be here, but some find it a little tiring when people appear to ask questions before they even look for the answer.
I understand that to a new person, sometimes you don't even have a point of reference to know what you are looking for. What you need can be found in the development forum as "Unbrick/return to stock by Entropy512."
Also refer to the sticky topic "Library" in the development section, and the sticky topic "FAQ" in the general section.
Edit: OK I see you removed your reactive comment, so I removed it from the quote also.
My bad..sorry about the reactive comment.
I am a new user to Android and just moved from iPhone. I do appreciate the DEVS work and understand it is an extra responsibility for you.
I had rooted and unlocked my SGS2 but being extra cautious not to brick it when flashing the ROM. I maybe should have read through all the posts irrespective of the title
Thanks Guys.. I got the thread.. I will pick it up from there
do you have the link for official stock rom that you found?

You really need to look around. There's a sticky post in the development section. Also study the links in my signature.
Why are people here so rude with noobs, jesshh. Can you just politely let the person know to do a search before posting and also provide the freaking link, since you people are so much of an expert in the forum right...

If we spoonfed every new person that comes here to XDA we wouldn't have enough room for actual development dude. So what you are suggestion is basically ridiculous. I want to come here for development. Not a bunch of links and "how to" posts. Searching is a good thing.

I tried searching, but a lot of times, its confusing on which Rom is actually the stock version which would return everything as before.
I looked at restoring the phone thread and couple of others which also say they are stock rom, hence the confusion.
There is no point in fighting. I got my answer, so its ok if people got mad at me for asking a question. They will forget about it in a couple of hours, and I will try to search a little more next time.

Hey dude!
I searched before opening this thread. I was in dilemma whether there might be some different method or solution to my issue so that's the reason i had to open this.
I'm not new to xda & i know searching before posting do help & learn something.
Anyways it's my mistake to do so & i admit that.
Sorry again for the inconvenience.

All good man. Glad yer issue is resolved.
FYI, rather than hoping a mod will stumble across this thread and read your plea for it to be closed or deleted, you can report the post yourself and make sure that happens. Of course, you probably already knew that since you're no stranger to XDA.
