[Q] Auto switch back to Samsung keyboard - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Has anyone experienced this before? I've chosen android keyboard as my current input method. But after clean the ram from the task manager, it will auto switch back to Samsung keyboard as my input method.
Any idea how to solve this? I'm using Inparisv4 and V6 SuperCharger Update 9 RC1.

Never happened to me and I'm using Thumb Keyboard.

I think what you meant by is switching keyboard? If yes,
You have to long press the input box, press input method and choose your keyboard
Accidentally sent from my Google Nexus S using XDA Premium
hey,
sorry but u can only choose those keyboard wich are enabled in the settings. But in my case there is one diabled keyboard in the settings. And when i try to enter the Input-Method Settings it will crash.
I hope there is an file on the phone in the system where I can set/enable the keyboard.
BTW: my phone is aktual working. but i got this situation two times.

Change keyboard on lockscreen is it possible?

Hi All
I am Running Android 3.1 on my Samsung GT 10.1 and are loving the Tablet Keyboard Free that gives me a split keyboard.
My problem is that when I put in my password on the lockscreen it just gives me my old default normal keyboard.
Is there a way to change so that Tablet Keyboard Free is used when i am entering my password on the lockscreen??
Tnx
HUmm, guess i can NOT change the keyboard that pops up on the lockscreen!
OR????
?? Still lokking for a solution
I am facing the same problem. I am using Swype, but on the lock screen the standard keyboard pops up.

Swype beta small keyboard crashes

anyone running the new Swype beta? running cm 7.1 and when I select the tablet friendly small keyboard Swype stops working completely? (button in bottom right)
I also have this problem - Nook Color running CM7.1.0-encore
Swype crashed in small keyboard mode, and now is completely nonfunctional. I tried uninstalling, deleting .apk, rebooting, reinstalling over the top... I can't seem to get rid of it in order to do a fresh install.
If you clear the data for Swype and kill the app the keyboard will start again in normal mode. You just have to avoid touching the smaller keyboard button.
I'm running Swype on a hannspad, I swapped to ICS for a week and the smaller keyboard worked fine. Battery drain was too high so went back to GB and the keyboard problem returned.

CM10.1 AOSP keyboard instead of Swype Beta

What I have:
S3
CM10.1 (nightly 2013-05-13)
Swype Beta 1.4.9 (selected as default keyboard on settings)
After a few minutes, for some reason the default keyboard goes back to AOSP for no apparent reason and there is no way to stop that behavior. It happens also with Google Voice Typing: I unselect it, and after a while it gets selected again.
Does anyone knows how to solve this?
Thanks
I had the same issue.
Freeze the AOSP keyboard with titanium backup, it worked for me.

[Q] why must Note 3 set Samsung keyboard as default when switching to BT keyboard?

i just bought a new generic bluetooth keyboard for use with my Note3 and my tablet.
when I do normal thumb typing, swiftkey is being used.
the annoying part is that when i connect my BT keyboard, it insists on using Samsung keyboard as default. After disconnecting it, the default does not switch back to Swiftkey and i have to manually set it back.
2 questions :
1. is this the normal behavior?
2. any workaround to this issue? - best scenario would be the onscreen keyboard is automatically hidden and Swiftkey remains as my default keyboard, so there is no need to switch after i leave my BT keyboard on the desk.
thanks.
