Whats up people? Hope someone can help me out with this one: Just got an HTC Amaze and wanna mail out my old Mt3g to my mother. She doesnt speak any foreign language so the menu has to be set up in Bulgarian. More locale 2 doesnt support it, so my question is: is there a way to push a language menu pack into a Donut rom (Froyo is too heavy for mt3g)? Thanx
Anyone?

Hello,
It's weird that HTC repeats itself and didn't add support for national characters into Hero's "T9" dialer. It's the same problem that old HTC Dialpad on WinMo has (in 2004??)
For example Č=C=Ć, Š=S, Ž=Z... I tried all available dialers on the market and they are english only too. I really don't want to to rename my contacts
Is there any way to modify character map so I can add letters to each key? (this was possible with old HTC Dialpad on WinMo by tweaking some dll)
Thanks...
I am really interested if this is corrected in 1.6 firmware...
Hello everyone, I am having an issue with Custom Locale application on modaco's 2.2 rom.
What I want to do is, keep the English menus but also have the option for Greek keyboard. Now, there is a locale that changes both menus and keyboard to Greek so the Greek keyboard is there.
Although, when I select the locale for English menus and Greek keyboard(en_GR) it doesn't work, they are both English. Is there a way to modify the locales so I can achieve what I am looking for?
P.S: I also tried adding the locales from inside the application but that didn't work.
Anyone got a solution to this? If no, how can I contact the author of Custom Locale application?
Thanks.
Hello Zenor ,
I am having the same problem with hero , plus when i change to Gr locale dictionary prediction doesn't work for Greek input. enGr doesn't work either(i want to have english menu with a greek alternative keyboard language aswell). What i haven't tested yet though is insert a sim from a Greek mobile provider ,reset my phone and don't highlight the English option in the beginning.Just wait for a a couple of minutes and check if you have the greek input.
Have you guys figured out how to do it or no joy yet?
I'm also interested in having an English menu with a Greek keyboard for messaging (with predictive text preferably).
My wife using X10mini for 2 months now, she did not notice that she actually using Chinese keyboard all along. Until recently she ask me why the keyboard not able to pick up simple English spilling auto complete her typing.
Then I realize that, even she using English letter input, but it is not the same as correct English keyboard.
This X10mini was purchase in Hong Kong, the 2.1 OS was loaded with Chinese keyboard.
How can I change it?
Please advise.
thanks
James
when you enter to keyboard settings check on default one and then check the language you want to use, I have my OS in spanish and the keyboad in english
hope it helps
thanks for reply, in default selection, there are no other choice apart from chinese.
Does your spanish / english keyboard does auto complete with english spilling? if it not, it is spanish keyboard, not english.

Hey There,
I live in Germany and type most of my SMS in german.
I flashed the "Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Keyboard" from Fabulous? under CM6.1 on my Hero. (the one from the "perfect setup guide")
it's working just fine, but the suggested words are all in english, which is actually pretty annoying, since I can make no mistake while typing.
Is there ANY way to change the dictionary/word-completion-database (whatever is responsible), so the keyboard actually suggests german words, when keyboard is set to german and english words, when set to same.
If I could only change it to one language permanently, I would still like to change it towards german.
If this doesn't work, which keyboard should I give a try? This should have a working auto-prediction in german under CM6.1
I know Swype and HTC_IME...
cheers
I don't think you can but have you tried changing your language on the phone if that does not work you might want to download smart keyboard trail from the android market then search for smart keyboard language the german language should be somewhere in the search result then go into settings then language and keyboard then check the smart keyboard trail then long press on then go into message and compose message then long press on any box and choose smart keyboard trail
phone language is already set to german. changing it to english and then back to german didn't change anything.
will give smart keyboard a try!
thanks for the suggestion.
try this one

Sort of a suggestion
I can't help you directly with Arabic or Farsi but i have enabled mine to handle Japanese, so it is possible to use other languages than Latin based alphabets.
My suggestion is that you go to Market and look for Arabic & Farsi soft keyboards. They will usually also come with support for the most popular Arabic/Farsi IME.
The other thing I suppose is that you want support for Right to Left text display? I am not sure if an Arabic IME will come with that support. For example, Japanese can also be written vertically with the columns going from right to left. I haven't found support for that in any of the IMEs. So it will be trial & error.
PS. IME = Input Managing Editor

thanks for answering ..
when i install the keyboards the words on messaging or the web browser in Persian language are shown with space between hem
any Idea
Have you checked in settings? It might have a setting for automatically using space to save time, especially if you mix it up with words in an alphabetic based language.
