I want to surf the web using a proxy server on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi. In Windows XP/7 it's just a matter of seconds to enter a proxy server in the browser. Is there a trick to do the same on Android? I've tried some apps from market to enable a proxy settings page, but none of them worked. thanks!
When connecting to wifi you can add proxy settings.

Has anyone had this experience before? Everything works fine until I connect my PPC in the cradle and then I try open IE. My AOL connection works fine and I can get to the internet that way but IE keeps saying it
can not find the server.
are you using 2 PCs that one of them is behind a proxy (ex: at work) ?
in that case, the XDA will automatically configure itself with the proxy setting especially if it has the DNS function. When u r on the other PC (ex: at home), the XDA will try to decode the server name into IP using the proxy which can't be found.
if it's not the case, check your "work" connection at the network settings and make sure it doesn't have any proxy or DNS settings.
I would like to be able to use my tablet with my students at school. Unfortunately the district uses a proxy server that requires authentication to access their network.
I know the ipad has these advanced wireless settings built in. Is there anyway to add this feature to my G tab? I am currently running the stock rom 1.1 3588, but I have run the market fix.
Try wifi browser login. It works at hospital using Cisco pop-up that requires clicking accept button to activate wifi on web browser
This is a different type of proxy server that requires logon to even connect to the network.
Are you saying that you can't connect to the wireless access point because of the wireless authentication method being used by the school or are you saying you're connected to the wireless access point but now the proxy authentication is blocking you?
Those who are unable to connect to wifi proxy use autoproxy app it works very well
It also supports authentication server types supported are http socks and ntlm
I use Proxydroid due to its capability of enabling automatically when connected to specifics networks. It also supports NTLM. Maybe you can give it a try too.

So there's a WiFi connection which requries a proxy server and a username+password to connect. I connected to this WiFi, set proxy via advanced settings.
Now I started Chrome and it asked for the Username and Password, and I'm able to browse properly. But I cannot access the internet on any other app.
Is there a way to do that? At least Play store??
