I've read the posts in this forum and have seen that it is possible to root and unlock the bootloader on the neo v. Has anyone had any success in loading cyanogen mod on the phone? Also does anyone know if later CM releases will support the neo v? The answers to these questions will determine if i purchase the phone, thanks.
Well they are busy working on ICS 4.0 now but maybe they will add official support later..
That said, I asked mods to move this thread to General section.
There is a topic on HTCMania about CM7 on NeoV -> http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=292218 , but it's not working for me. I have latest firmware 4.0.2.a.0.42 and when I flash CM7, my phone doesn't want to boot. Users on XDA have successfully flashed roms from other phones as well -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375582&page=2
If a method for fixing camera issues will be find, we will have (i guess) all the roms for Neo, Arc Ray, or Play flashable
I have an SK17A (Xperia Mini Pro) and am interested in installing FXP on it. I have some questions:
1) Will I notice improved performance over Sony ROM .58? Will most everything work as it should? Will an average user experience an improvement using FXP? Or will I be more frustrated with unknown issues?
2) I'm leaning towards the CM 7.2 ROM and not the CM 9.0 ROM based on what I have read in the developer forum as 9.0 seems very unstable and buggy at this point. Is this accurate?
3) There seem to be outstanding bugs in FXP based on CM 7.2 (keyboard issues, etc) that are easily fixable but have been around for a long time. Are they really easily fixable? Why haven't they been fixed in FXP 103?
4) Why do I need to install Sony ROM .42? Is the install not possible with .58?
5) Why is there no GAPPS download linked for the Xperia Mini Pro in the FXP thread?
6) If I proceed I assume I need to follow these general instructions:
-unlock boot using fastboot
-install CWM
-backup (Nandroid?)
-install FXP
-install GAPPS
Is this accurate?
Any answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated as I haven't seen them in my forum browsing and searching so far.
First of all NO ONE CAN COMPARE WITH STOCK ROM STABILITY ! In case of stability stock ROM is THE BEST ! And the performance ? With few uninstallation of unwanted software and freezing unwanted process you can make stock rom even more faster than CM is...
Second CM is in [development] its 100% not stable and fully working out of box as Stock ROM is....
and CM9 is highly......... unstable right now I have tested it on my XMP and i reflashed to stock ROM in just 15 min of look.
Third CM is not giving concern to problems as they have posted the keyboard fixes and other fixes before so they are just developing ROM for other things ...
You have to hit your head over forums to solve your each and every bug you found.
Fourth you need not to be on .42 to install CM7 you can do it on .58 too but i am sure if you are looking for fully functional os with stock features too then you gonna dislike CM.And i m saying this cause i have tested CM on .42 HU and .58 Global ...
Fifth Gapps are not included in CM due to copyright issues so you have to install them separately ...
You can find it on official cyanogen Mod site or other forums too
Sixth
Your steps are correct but after backup you have to add one step thats "Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition" through ClockWorkMode recovery options
and after that install FXP ROM
Backup is not necessary its optional unless you want to restore your previous ROM as you left it before flashing CM.
You can make Nandroid backup using Clockworkmode recovery option "backup and restore" and the backups can be found on SD card in SDCARD/clockworkmode folder.And can be used to restore your previous ROM anytime.
Lastly i have tested hell out of each and every rom and finally i switched to stock one .58 ROM not .62 as its not global one.
And i have installed Mini Mode update to get widget panel in status bar and reboot option in power menu.
Used system app remover and titanuim backup to remove and freeze unwanted apps.
And also i have used all launcher and switched to stock one and the Xperia Arc launcher for stability and performance.
And Finally ... you have any querries ? comment back i will answer you and DO NOT Hesitate to Hit THANKS button if you are satisfied with my answer and do care for my time that i spent to answer your question to get your problems solved.
NOTE : I am not against any ROM or any developer and please note if stock ROM is for ******* then every handset is made for *******

Hi everybody.
I have been having issues with Miui rom performance ever since the ICS release.
I see many ppl commenting @ miui forum how the releases are working perfectly
for them and no problems but for me generaly those few ICS releases have been
nothing but slow laggy and unresponsive.
No other rom behaves like this. Everything works (camera, sms, calling).
I have tried all possible roms, both GB and ICS and none is slow and unresponsive like Miui.
Right now i'm running Checkrom RevoHD V6 becuz i found the battery drain
be the best for my phone and N.E.A.K 1.4.2x kernel.
SlimICS wich is the last ICS rom i had was almost same battery drain as Checkrom
just not as smooth yet.
Anyone experience same issues?
No I don't have any of these problems.
The only problems I have with MIUI are the known bugs or rom specific bugs.
How do you flash?
Are you comming from a stock rom ?

Last time i used it i came from SlimICS 3.2
Stock i havent used for quite a while.
I've always done full wipe wiping system, data, emmc, cache, dalvik-cache and battery stats
and after all those manual wipes i run the Ultimate cleaner script 2.4
I did not have this problem the GB based Miui.
I like the gui of the rom and also battery is excellent with it.
But Lag and stutter is not fun
Thx for the quick reply!
Still same issue with the newest Miui.
Installed a GB rom (Epsilon Project) and it's like night and day.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
But simply puting a question mark at the end of your statement will not make it a Question.
There is a thread in General for discussing V4 MIUI ICS also many other threads are there which port the ICS ROMs also. Bugs & problems of Beta versions should be reported there not here. otherwise use a Stable version (GB).
Reminded, this is a Q&A section.

After seeing a few other threads in this forum section where people post bug & problems i tought it was the right section to post my question.
I'm sorry if i was not clear enough but it is a general question about the rom and how others
who tested it feel like.
Asking in Miui forum might only be seen by users who currently run miui.
Thus i would be missing toughts from users who tested it and experienced same issue and moved on to another rom.
Admins are free to move the thread if i made a mistake.
You can find lot of discussions on V4 in the thread whcih lnked in my post...
Me too waiting for a stable ICS MIUI version.

Hi guys,
(sorry if my words aren't clear, please tell me if any of what I say isn't undestandabble)
Yesterday I installed FeraLabs ICS v2.2 ROM in my x10a. Great ROM, I fell in love with android 4 and cyanogemod, it was my first contact with both. But I had some problems using it, some apps not working, others freezing the entire system, can't send SMS etc. I know that probably most of these bugs already have fixes, the ROM is being developed etc, but I decided that it's not for me yet, this is my main phone and I need it rock solid for day to day use.
So I decided to try some GB rom. But there are a lot of ROMs out there, and I couldn't find a thread answering what's the best for my case, so I'm gonna ask fro suggestions. =D
Here's what I need:
- A stable ROM, fully compatible with my x10a;
- Based on cyanogemod;
- If possible, faster than stock 2.3 ROM;
- If possible, less power-consuming than stock 2.3 ROM, but it's the least important feature (got a 3500mAh battery);
- I personnally don't like the Sony UI improvemments and general bloatwares. I like google default apps and UI. Also used a LG p500 for a year, liked a lot the LG punctual customizations;
- It can have bugs about video recording, I don't use it much;
- It can't have bugs with 3g, wifi, calling and texting (hehehe);
So, what flavors should I try?
Thank you all. ;D
Donut HD 2.2 it's faster than stock and cm and works perfect with good battery life 2

Hi,
Thanks for helping.
Looking at the instructions in the thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30999560&postcount=1167). Will it run OK with the feralabs kernel that is currently is installed in my system? Shouldn't I change hte kernel?
If yes, what kernel should I flash?
Hi guys,
I flashed doomkernel, booted to xRecovery, installed the doomkernel wifi module from zip, booted again to xRecovery, installed the donuthd, booted again, installed donuthd, booted to xRecovery and installed donuthd update.
It's really fast, I've never used and android this fast. I'm currently installing my apps, wanna see if it will keep great at night. =D
But I've seen a problem:
My sms messages aren't being delivered, just like happened with Feralabs ICS 2.2 rom. Anyone got this problem? Does this have some relation with my phone being a x10a (and now it's appearing in in my system settings as x10i) ?
Thanks in advance.
Hi again,
Today I cleaned up my phone and tried to install donutHD + doomkernel again. Everything worked ok, except sending and receiving SMS messages. So I flashed back 2.1 stock firmware and 2.3 (GB) stock firmware, and SMS sending/receiving worked fine again, in both versions.
Does anybody has any clue about what can be happening? When I installed donutHD (about 3 times), I was in 2.1 stock firmware, root/busybox/xrecovery from Flashtool (newest version). The same problem ocurred with the Feralabs ICS v2.2 ROM with feralabs kernel for ICS.
I also tried to flash the 2.3th kernel n5-1 (comming from 2.1 stock firmware), but it got frozen in SE screen, during boot. Even xrecovery couldn't open. =/
=========================== edited:
Problem solved: As observed I was upgrading from 2.1 stock ROM to DonutHD. Doing this upgrade coming from android 2.3 stock ROM, the SMS sending/receiving works like a charm. =D
phone speaker nt working while using cm 10 with AOKP ROM ICS 4.0.4 ,rest other things working fine any update or fix abt that
You realize that you posted in a general help section without posting any details of your phone, right...?
