Hi there,
My HTC Flyer is already rooted S-Off. It's a middle east version that was already having Arabic. I almost bricked it then resolved the problem, for more information please refer to the thread: "Tried to do factory reset but stuck in the boot screen" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18781144#post18781144
To recover from the almost bricked Flyer, I applied the suggestion on that thread and applied the RUU RUU_Flyer_hTC_Asia_HK_2.27.708.1_Radio_20.3504.30.089BU_3809.07.04.06_M_release_204709_signed_2
I applied The RUU successfully through HTC sync with no problems. However, my only problem is that this RUU ROM doesn't have Arabic, i.e the flyer works fine with English menus and browsing, but displays distorted Arabic letters or flipped from left to right while they should be right to left, whether in the browser or messages or anywhere else. Actually All RUU's suggested on the site have no Middle east version.
So, I decided to apply a custom ROM. I rebooted the Flyer in the recovery mode. the recovery menu appears with no problems. First, there are the "Revolutionary" Information:
"
-Revolutionary-
FLYER PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.10.1002
MICROP-0950
RADIO-3809.07.04.06_M
eMMC-boot
May 4 2011,11:04:45
"
Then there are the Menu options: It has:
"
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
"
Ok, where is the problem now? The problem is that when I choose "Recovery" it never displays the recovery "blue" menu!!
It rather displays a graphical icon showing three arrows circled around each other over an icon showing a logo of a phone, then there is a bar down the screen with the logo of the memory card to the right. Then after a while, the screen displays the Phone logo with a warning logo on it having an exclamation mark in the middle of a triangle
Please help with this, how to enter to the recovery mode, to wipe cache, to do factory reset, to mount and unmount, and most important, to Flash a custom ROM???!
Many thanks in advance.

Khatypically.

I really feel ashamed of myself that the solution is that easy.
Would you please tell me how to reinstall the CWM recovery? or at least paste some guiding link here that is easy to follow.

Hey guys,
I've got a HTC Legend.
Here is what i have done so far.
1. Tryed to follow a downgrade gold card tutorial....
2. Found out that htc provides an official way to unlock the boot loader which should actually make things easier.
3. Upgraded the phone via OTA update and unlocked the boot loader with the htcdev official method.
4. Then i tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1290841 at first i did it wrong cause i tried the s-on method which did not work.
5. Then i found out even if my Boot loader is S-ON i should use the S-OFF method cause it's unlocked.
6. adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-legend.img
7. Now i can boot in to the recovery mode but when i try to chose an option like "Install zip from sd card" all the selection options disappear and i get stuck on the screen/picture which is shown in the background the little hat with the yellow round arrow. When i push the on off button again the selection options appear again and nothing happens.
8. After this i started froyo again with switched on usb debugging hoping to get root access via HTC SuperTool V3 in order to be able to flash recovery via the Rom Manager App in the Market. No success!!!
guys i'm getting mad reading through forums for 3 days now and i still have no idea how to get this done pls help me.
sry for the bad English it's obviously not my native language

Man.. you should "select" the menu item by pressing the trackball, not the power button. Its kinda "screensaver" in CWM appear when you press power button.

Device: HTC Hero: G2 on Orange/T-Mobile
Running on: official HTC RUU 2.73......66
I have searched for days on this matter but to no gain.
Basically, I had everything working fine on my hero (on a custom rom i think) then I was giving it to someone else so tried wiping it all by installing the latest HTC hero ROM on their website. This was the 2.73....66 (can't remember the middle section but it was certainly for my device)
This has led to the (semi) bricking of my phone. Without sim in, I will unlock and it tells me to select a language. Okay. Then I can't proceed as it needs a sim to go on. With sim in, I unlock and all I have is 'htc' written in white on the screen.
Boot loader gives me:

Holding HOME + POWER brings up a white triangle with yellow exclamation mark with a phone lying beside it.
Holding home again and tapping power brings up android system recovery utility.
I can reboot system alright but can't 'apply sdcard:update.zip [Alt + S]
Or 'wipe data/factory reset [Alt +W]
At the bottom it shows
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
I have created a goldcard. As you know it is formatted so holds nothing.
I have no recovery installed
I have no nandroid backup (I was an idiot not to make one)
Please help! This is killing me! I know I've been a fool but I need the help of someone better, thanks
Update
I tried going to temp files to get the 2.73.61.66 rom.zip, naming it HEROIMG.zip then using hboot to use. It updates but still the same happens. Does this mean the firmware is itself corrupted? Is my phone a goner?
Can you please try to S-OFF or unlock your phone via HTCDev.com, if you need to update the HBooT use the goldcard method
Plan B, forget HTCDev, put the HEROIMG.zip on the root of your SD/gold card and go to HBooT, VOL-DOWN + POWER, click yes to every question, wait for it to finish and reboot your phone into HBooT again, the first line should show HERO CVT ENG S-OFF
I tried the HEROIMG.zip process you suggested but it remained HERO CVT SHIP S-ON, will now try method A
I can't update hboot through htcdev either. None of the updates for the Orange UK HTC Hero work. What the hell is wrong with my phone?
Hi, still looking for some help if anyone can do anything...
I'll do some experimenting on my device tomorrow, i think you we can fix this
Thanks Kemoba, you've been great!
I have an HTC Amaze 4G PH85110 that will not boot up into the Android OS past the boot screen.
Let me walk you through what happens;
I push the power on button, the phone vibrates and the screen comes to life showing the HTC logo. This is where it stays forever until I pull the battery. I left it on for a good 20 minutes on this screen on a number of occasions and it just hangs there.
When I press the Power + Volume Down button it boots into the special boot screen with the following visible:

Selecting FACTORY RESET gets me to a dark screen where there is an icon of a phone with a progress bar below it, it stays there for aprox 20 seconds and it then it goes to a white screen with the HTC logo, just like on a fresh boot and it just hangs there forever, until the battery is pulled.
Selecting RECOVERY brings me to a dark screen with an icon of the phone and a red triangle with an exclamation mark in front of the phone icon and it just hangs there till the battery is pulled.
From what I remember the previous owner tried installing a custom firmware and something went wrong along the line and was never able to boot the phone back up. I am guessing that because the S-ON was never changed to S-OFF this somehow ****ed with his firmware change. But all that is guesswork as I do not remember the specific details.
I remember at one point installing a custom recovery screen on the phone and it would boot into it, but once I would try and flash a custom rom it would never complete, complaining about access restrictions if I am remembering correctly.
I also remember getting the phone in to FASTBOOT and getting the computer to recognise and communicate with it, but every time i tried to upload a custom radio/rom/whatever to it it would complain about access restrictions.
However, the phone is unlocked. But, the S-ON is.... on.
so
Is this phone salvageable or should I just throw it away and stop worrying and trying to fix it anymore?
Two pieces of info needed:
Pls download AIO 5.1 http://d-h.st/users/hasoon2000/?fld_id=2811#files
1. Check what the phone CID is. (write down what displayed in the command prompt)
2. Then try: Reboot into Recovery (see what happened on handheld screen)
P.S. Find a way to charge the battery either..
P.P.S. Make sure you have a microSD card available with you..
Got the AIO 5.1 tool
The CID as copied from the command prompt is cid: GLOBA001
Selecting reboot to recovery makes the phone boot into 4EXT Recovery Touch
I have the battery charging as we speak, and there is a 16Gb MicroSD waiting incase I need it.
Try to download this http://d-h.st/7kW
Rename it PH85IMG.ZIP (make sure you see the file extensions on your PC so it is not got named PH85IMG.ZIP.zip ) then put it on your microSD, insert it, then reboot Amaze into Bootloader (not into 4EXT Recovery) and let us know what happened..
P.S. However it seems being EXE - not sure 100% it will work particularly the way mentioned above.. may require to be executed on the PC..
Alright downloaded the RUU_Ruby_Globalive_WWE_1.45.1500.2_R_Radio_1.09.55 0L.11v2DC_30.67.550L.09_release_227347_signed.exe it recognised my phone but it failed to install on the final step saying that it can not continue.
Now I am going to try and download the .zip ones, both from Globalive and T-Mobile and try each one and see what happens.

To flash ph85img from bootloader the bootloader has to be relocked first. But for your carrier I believe you have to run the exe from your computer
sent from.. wait, where am I?
Need to upgrade your T-Mobile Amaze to ICS? CLICK ME!
Unbranded/Asian/International Amaze owners CLICK HERE. Upgrade to ICS from GB so you can flash custom roms
:good: If someone has helped you, hit their thanks button! :good:
Did you try executing the downloaded EXE file on PC whilst connected by the native Amaze 4G microUSB cable (which is slightly different though)?
I don't have the native Amaze MicroUSB cable. Just a regular one.
I am now going to try and lock the bootloader and try the .exe again.
I tried quite a fiew of the official UUM .zips and exe's both with bootloader unlocked and locked. Same thing happens, the .exe's detect the phone start and then say IMG FAIL. The .zip's in the custom recovery menu all start updating then immediately stop.
Does this have anything to do with the fact that I have S-On? How would I switch it off if I can't get into the phones OS in the first place?
To have a phone that seems to work yet refuses any attempt at loading a working OS on it is so very frustrating.
Can I take this into a shop and have them force feed the rom onto the phones memory somehow with some kind of special connection that goes straight to the memchips?
- If you are S-ON - you may just install ROM which is intended for WIND.. no any other ROM..
- Wind ROM must work in Bootloader whilst named PH85IMG.ZIP even if it is UNLOCKED though..
- When you run EXE on PC - keep the phone attached and booted in Bootloader (and there must be Fastboot USB mentioned )
- Try using AIO to install RUU (make sure microUSB cable is 100% operational)
P.S. No sure - but you might want to give it a try:

I have a hunch you updated to ICS and didn't update the radio.
Bootloops, Partition Table(s), and "35 RU_PARTITION_NOT_SUPPORT {partitionName}"
Hey Guys,
I had no idea how best to word the title for this because I'm having a hard time narrowing down the actual issue. I have attempted an RUU, both by 0PJAIMG.zip method and .exe method. The .exe method fails because it times out trying to reboot to the bootloader, and the .zip method fails because I get stuck in a bootloop (black background with dark HTC logo, described below).
Background -- On the Sprint variant of the M9. Earlier this week installed MM via RUU. Phone is S-ON and Unlocked (successfully ran RUU against it in this state earlier this week, strangely). Phone turned itself off while doing a WhatsApp backup, and this was the resulting situation.
Symptoms:
1. Turning on the phone results in HTC screen with white background and red text, where it hangs forever
2. "fastboot oem lock" doesn't work -- phone remains "Unlocked"
3. TWRP 3.0.2-0 is not able to mount any of my partitions (/cache, /system, /data, /devlog, /carrier, /cota, /preload) All say "Failed to mount '/{partitionName}' (Invalid argument)"
4. If I turn on the phone while holding power down key, I get what looks like the first step of Download Mode (dark HTC logo, black background), but it shows that screen vibrates, goes black, vibrates, shows that screen again...etc - forever
5. Attempting to flash any firmware-related items results in "35 RU_PARTITION_NOT_SUPPORT {partitionName}", where partitionName = whatever I was trying to flash (aboot, hosd, radio...etc)
6. In TWRP, when looking at the "Select Storage" dialog in Mount screen, "Internal Storage" shows "(0MB)"
7. Flashing Stock Recovery img results in still seeing TWRP when booting
8. The only way I am able to reach the bootloader is by holding all three buttons together. I can connect via fastboot in the bootloader, but I can't flash anything there because I'm S-ON.
9. When running RUU.exe, everything functions until it tries to reboot the phone into the bootloader the first time, where it would begin the flash process. It boots the HTC logo, white background, with red text and hangs
a. I tried to reach the bootloader for it by using the steps in #8, but while I can see the device in fastboot devices in the bootloader, the RUU never sees it and eventually times out
10. Restoring "System Image" from TWRP from before I had done anything at all to it doesn't change anything
11. Restoring "Recovery" backup from TWRP, from before I flashed TWRP also results in no change (TWRP still boots when I choose to reboot into recovery)
My guess, at this point, is a corrupt partition table or EMMC. Is it possible to try rebuilding this?
Does anyone think this is recoverable? Thoughts on next steps?
Any/all help is greatly appreciated!
Hi,
Got a bit of a problem here. I recently bought a HTC One Mini second hand from a flea market, with the apparent problem of it not being able to boot. What happens when you just normally turn the phone on with the power button is that it goes into boot loader without booting into the normal HTC phone. I'm pretty sure it's a software problem (i.e. not like the volume down button is stuck), because trying to boot into recovery, factory reset, clear storage is all useless.
Some details about the phone:
The phone is LOCKED, not re-locked. This means that the boot-loader has never been unlocked before, right?
I've tried unlocking the bootloader on the phone, and the steps are successful until the " fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" part, where the phone doesn't react at all even though the process is shown as successfully completed.
The first few lines on the fastboot screen are:
