I've tried to replace the bootanimation.zip in system/media, as well as using rom manager to update the zip. I haven't had any luck with this and just want the stock samsung galaxy S boot animation. Can anyone help me? I'm running Axura 2.2.7.2
I loaded the Bamf 2.1 GB remix on my phone. I used the included toolkit to change the splash screen before the boot animation. Now I want to return to the default splash screen. I have tried the following: Going back to the toolkit and changing the splash screen to the default, reloading the rom, installing a new rom, manually loading a copy of the boot animation file to the system/media folder. None of this has resolved the issue. Any ideas? Thanks.
You need to find the zip file. Then rename it PG051img.zip and place on the root of your SD card. Then shut down and boot into hboot. You'll have the option to flash it, up volume for yes.
Thanks! I found a factory image so trying that now

Hi, I'm new to the S2 and recently used a Hero, and custom rom'd on that.
I'm completely confused about the bootscreen on my S2
But I wanted to know if there was anyway I could change bootscreen
i.e. push a zip to system/media etc?
Thanks
Do you mean boot animation, or boot logo?
The animation or the img before the animation?
If its the logo look in /mnt/.lfs there will be a file called logo.jpg
Alternatively if that location doesn't exist for you, follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136699
If you meant the animation, drop the bootanimation.zip in /system/media
Yeah, that's what I meant, thanks
Hello
Problem =Like I wrote in the title I have blackscreen at the boot instead of an animation.
How did that happen= I wanted to change the animation of turkbey's rom.
I tried to install it with CWR but it didn't work I have allways the blackscreen.
Then I moved the files with RootExplorer to data/local and system/media.
But the one I found wasn't made for ICS.
After that I found the ICS Animation, tried to install with CWR and I got the message "success". But the problem is still the same.
If anybody could tell me what I should do, that would be nice.
Informations about the phone :
4.0.3
I9100DXLP9
3.0.31-Siyah-V3.2.2+
TurkBey Rom ICS V8
Thanks.
Edit : I just deleted the bootanimation.zip file in system/media. And now I got the classical GSII animation.
But still can't install any other bootanimation.
Anybody here?

Dear rdlegy,
You can not simply change your boot logo. It has been placed there by the developer of your Custom ROM.
It can only be replaced by modifying the kernel.img or boot.img of your device.
Regards, Neptune
You can easily replace the boot animation by moving a new bootanimation.zip to /system/media and overwrite the old one. Change permissions to RW-R-R after you've moved it, or else you'll get a bootloop. If you're not sure how to do it, head over here where you can download a new one and get some more help. If you want the stock animation back, your best bet would be to go to your device section and ask if anyone can upload bootanimation.zip for you.
