Hey guys, yesterday I tried flashing my phone to the PWGB Version 2.0 (Beta 3) gingerbread rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242747). Flashed with Odin 3 v1.85, flash ran fine and phone booted fine. However once I tried to connect my phone again to my computer I noticed it was unable to stay connected it keeps rediscovering the device. When I plug it into a changer it will charge, but toggles between charging and not charging as long as it is plug in. Thinking that is was a problem with the rom I downloaded a new rom through CWM but when I tried to load it through recovery mode I received the following error: E:failed to verify whole-file signature. I am at a lost on how to install a new rom since I cant connect via the USB and downloading a new rom fails to load. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Samsung Fascinate Firmware 2.3.4 Kernel 2.6.35.7 Build sch-I500.EH09
it is a problem with the rom, it is stable but there a few major bugs in the system. i recommend flashing MIUI...its the best rom for the fascinate especially since a new version has been released

Thanks Daskydivr, any advice on how to flash the rom with out connecting to a computer(as my phone will not connect)?

aquire a micro-sd usb reader and place rom on the card then put card baack into your phone, then boot into clockwork recovery, wipe data, cache, dallvik...then install rom from zip.

Hello guys,
as a last resort I turn to you for help. Have been searching for the answer for the last 2 days. I am running CWM-based Recovery v.6.0.1.1 and have a rooted x10 together with an unlocked bootloader. I flashed the recovery without any problems and installed miui v4 but an older file which was very unstable (without any problems). Then I decided to install the newer version so i downloaded it, placed it on my sdcard and in the same recovery flashed rom. Unfortunately I had my usb cable plugged in all the time (during installation). Installation got stuck in the middle and nothing could be done so i removed the battery and started the phone again (this time without the usb cable). When I tried to reinstall that rom again it gave me status 7 error installation aborted, assert failed:getprop, error in sdcard and things like that. So I tried the ROM which had already worked on my phone but received exactly the same message. What is more usb storage mounting in the recovery doesnt work anymore (but it already worked!). Now the problem is that I don't have any system installed and when i try to flash the recovery again, flashtool does not recognize my phone (so does windows) and so it leads me nowhere. I think this is definitely problem with the recovery, after the failed attempt to install rom when i had to remove the battery it does not behave normally. Is there any way that I can maybe install another recovery from .zip - i do not even know whether it will install or just sends me another error. Any help would be greatly appreciated

When I want to flash .tft file and i go to flash mode it does not recognize my phone in windows even though I have installed all the necessary drivers. It starts to flash but then says flashing aborted (this did not happen before, i could flash without any problems). Another problem is that i do not have any rom installed right now so i cannot even switch debugging on and if i remember right, i left debugging off in my previous rom.
Use Sony Update Service. Download from Sony site and install on PC. Follow the instruction, and this will reflash Stock Rom and Kernel (GB 2.3.3). Then, with latest Flashtool, first Root phone again, then flash whatever you want (custom kernels, roms..). You don't need to unlock bootloader again. It remains unlocked.

Hi Everyone! just a rookie here in need of a bit of advice.
I'm a Galaxy S II I9100 owner and have my phone rooted and all setup with custom roms and been comfortable with flashing for some time now. My ROM of choice recently was Vanilla Rootbox and have to say the ROM has been fantastic with very few bugs to report. Last night i recieved the OTA update via Goo Manager for Vanilla Rootbox 3.4. I downloaded the full update over wifi and flashed with all wipes no worries. Next step was to flash the latest GAPPS and i figured there would be nothing wrong with flashing the GAPPS zip i had on my sd card that i had downloaded the last time i was notified of a GAPPS update via Goo manager as well. After flashing, wiping everything and rebooting again. My phone then booted up to a series of dialog boxes indicating that many google processes had stopped functioning. apps.google.com etc etc. A similar error has been reported in the Vanilla Rootbox thread by another user but i wasnt able to report this bug their either because my post count is too low to post in a development forum. So after seeing this error i rebooted into recovery to flash my last backup but CWM recovery came back with an error messaging stating it couldnt mount either ext or int sdcard. i did a factory reset which made no difference to the problem whatsoever. I then downloaded ODIN and the latest stock ICS Rom and flashed it via ODIN with no reported errors. My phone now boots through the optus boot animation and is stuck at the Galaxy S 2 screen with the flashing red and yellow animation over the S. If i turn off the phone with the power button, the phone turns off and immediately starts again and gets stuck at the flashing s screen. I've taken the battery sim and ext sd card out and put it all back in only for the problem to persist.
If anyone could help me there's a donation and my thanks in it!
Much appreciated
Nick
tried to re flash another stock ROM?
If so, tried factory reset the phone after the flash?
As long as you can get to DL mode, you are good to keep on flashing till you are up & running.
And then you got this
Remember to update your kies and make sure you close it all up before flashing with odin. If you are in 4.0.4 beware of the brick bug.

Kies has never been installed on this computer but i did use the usb drivers mentioned in the soft brick recovery guide you linked. I used some information from the guide to flash this stock rom but i couldnt flash or wipe the partition because im unsure where to get the .PIT file required? i cant get past the boot animation so no factory reset possible and yes i can still get into download mode!

wow wow, leave pit files alone for now, they are nasty.
What stock ROM did you flash? 4.0.4 or 4.0.3?
You can factory reset via recovery mode.
Try installing kies anyway, it can't never hurt. Just make sure all applications are closed before you re-flash.
here's jb leak, might help:

Right so i flashed I9100XWLP8 stock rom (4.0.3). Just then i flashed Siyah Kernel and attempted to use the factory reset function in recovery there, i get a message down the bottom mentioning that it can't mount my internal SD.

hi, i have rooted and flashed various roms on my device, i was using siyah v6. I have recently flashed alienware jellybean rom on the device and it does not get past the first screen. So i have been through the process of rebooting into recovery and found it is running clockwork mod version 4.0.0.2. When i have gone to install zip from sd card the power button does not function i have to use the home button when usually on other versions it is the power button. Once i click on to install zip from sd card it does not load the usual options and says E:cant mount sd card.
Now the other option that i had was to use odin to flash back Siyah on the problem when i do this it is not recognizing the usb device, i have installed drivers, used kies it still does not work tried a different laptop but still no joy. I am running out of options and would be great full if anyone has a solution to this problem as need the phone for work tommorow.
Sorry to tell ya this brother but this is the i777 AT&T galaxy a 2 forum. There's a seperate forum for the i9100. You should try your luck there . Good luck hope you get your issue resolved.

Where did you get those ROMs from?
Hope you guys can help me, I ran outta ideas. Here's my problem: I was on a cm12s based rom, downloaded latest SlimRom and when I was installing (using twrp recovery) it gave me an error: "Unable to mount /system". I read some stuff on different websites and ended up trying with another rom and other Recovery's (philz and cwm) but none of that helped. After that I downloaded stock rom to install via Odin but Odin doesn't recognize my phone, I installed Samsung USB drivers, installed kies, tried with different usb cables, tried with different computers but Odin simply doesn't recognize it, now my phone is stuck at download mode since I don't have os installed, is there any way to fix unable to mount system problem? Or to make Odin recognize my phone? I would really appreciate your help.
anyone?

Haven't you taken Nandroid Backup? Am sure atleast Backup should help you boot your phone back
Regarding Odin, i usually avoid it because of same issues of detection. It seems to be very sensitive. However i would suggest borrowing an original cable from someone and see if that works. First and the last time i used ODIN, I tried atleast 4 non samsung cables which never worked with ODIN. The Samsung original cable did the trick for me.
Hi, my Galaxy S2 was working great with KitKat that I flashed and then thought why not try a new LiniageOS. That Rom failed to install and I figured I would try an updated TWRP recovery. I tried the newest version and it failed to install. It warned me I had no rom installed on reboot but I rebooted anyway and went back to recovery. No issues until I tried an earlier version of TWRP that failed during install as well and now is in boot loop with no Rom. Can not enter recovery mode either. Can enter download mode but Odin and my computer do not seem to detect my phone when plugged in via usb. Tried 3 usb cables but only one computer available. Samsung usb drivers installed.
Any ideas what to do next.
Thanks!
