[FYI] Juicedefender Ultimate On Sale - Motorola Photon 4G

For anyone that cares, Juicedefender Ultimate is on sale in the Amazon App Store for $1.99...... normally $4.99.

You always seem to have the in on what's goin' on with free apps and good apps and all that stuff. Now this may be a stupid question, but how to I get to the amazon app store?

enter your phone number on the side and they will send you the store APK, or just to see what's available go to amazon.com under departments choose APPS

I will be doing that shortly. Appreciate it.

JDU is awesome..it's made a huge difference since day 1...I'm still trying to get the best settings without sacrificing connectivity/productivity...and I could probably get close to 20 hours running all the way down to 0% with moderate use.

Are you using the free version of Juice Defender? Or are you using the Ultimate?

Ultimate...some people report oustanding battery life. Like 14 hours of use and sitting at 60%. I dont buy it..unless they post their battery use screens. They are probably not even touching their phone...also they might count 7-8hrs of airplane mode. I just updated to 198_7...i am running typical days use and will post findings!

Facebook for sgh-i777

Has anyone else been having a horrible experience with the Facebook app, force closes, data dropping off etc.

I had data drop ..had to reboot each time. Deleted the damn app. I just use the browser for Facebook.

Nope. But it's a known culprit for being a huge battery waster. I'd say cut your loses and freeze it. There's better alternatives on the market.

Back when I had the captivate, the facebook app crashed incessantly. With the GII, however, I haven't had it crash even once.
I usually remove the one in /system and install it from Market.
The current version is MUCH better than it was in early 2011. I've only had it go nuts on the wakelocks once.

I have been using Friendcaster Pro ever since a couple weeks after buying my Infuse back in June, and will be using it when I get my SGS2 today. Way better app. The last major update even added a dark theme which made me love it even more.
Facebook app always sucked.
Is the only difference between pro and free the ads?

facebook for the sgs2 is one of the better experiences. other phones have more problems than ours. granted i still hate it. it kills the battery, is unreliable with notifications, unintuitive, and just complete and utter crap
How do notifications in friend caster work. please tell me they arent email based.

The facebook app on iphone is a joke. If you try to view a picture from someone 50% of the time it won't load the same picture you clicked on, and when it does load the right one and you comment on it, it leaves the comment on a completely different picture.

DN3D is a full version of an app that usually costs 99c, once purchased you can buy Episode 2 and and Episode 3 in app for 99c each. What we are getting for free is the first episode, I'm sure they are hoping we like it enough to buy the other two episodes.

Certain ROMs have issues (for different reasons) regarding the Market and some apps. Maybe your ROM needs a market fix?
I cannot for the life of me imagine playing this on a phone.
It is barely playable on a 10-inch tablet IMO. Way too much work for the little bit of fun. Uninstalled it.
i am very excited to try this. Also, is this based on the newest Duke Nukem game for PC?

You don't need juice defender. It'll have a more negative effect on battery as its just another process running in the background.
I got the same message. There was a beta version of one that didn't have the same message. I ended up not using any of them but I am curious as to why we would get that message.
Anyone with any ideas?

didn't plan on using it to be honest, I just was confused by the message. didn't know a carrier could restrict an app like that (or atleast I think that's what's goin on) and don't really like it.

+1. I love this app. If I leave mobile data running, battery life on this phone sucks. With it I run schedules with mobile data where I can still get emails, and use my phone for more than 6 hrs. Don't know about the installation issues, since I've had it for awhile, just wanted to defend the app for those who feel it's not necessary

I believe they just uploaded v 3 on the market and it may take some time to sort it up.
im not sure who said not to use juice and i really dont care. i have noticed an improvement in my battery life by using it, and i am talking hours. If you shell out the money for the ultimate version you can take control over every power eating aspect of your phone. +1 to the developer

There's a known issue that the Market hasn't been updated to handle the UCKK6 (AT&T OTA update) fingerprint yet.

Cerberus Security App

I just wanted to let everyone know that this excellent security app is offering FREE life time memberships (licenses basically) until February 29th to mark having a hundred thousand users. To get it, just install the apk, create an account, than go here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFR4VHNka3czd2FJV2FIaXFYTHp0aGc6MQ
The best thing about Cerberus is it's root permissions to do things like force GPS on if it's off, take pictures if people try and access your phone and email the picture to you, and of course send it's location to you along with standard wipe my phone functionality. Definitely worth checking out. You can find it in ROM Manager or on the Market. If you get it from ROM Manager it will install the apk into your system apps so that it survives factory resets and will still provide all of it's functionality.
Oh and I'm sourcing the find to Android Police.

If it works very well/very polished, don't see why you'd say that then. I don't know anyone who doesn't use fb, techies included.
If XDA made a launcher, I wouldn't use it most likely either unless it had more options than the current launchers on the market. I sure as hell wouldn't go around saying this launcher is just for the techies though.
I don't see the harm in trying it out. I backed the Chameleon launcher and used it for awhile on my nexus 7. Then I tried it for awhile on my N2 when it came available. I'm not currently using it on either, but I don't see any harm in trying it out.
