If you are on a 2.3 ROM then you shouldn't use them

Yeah i second greg. 2.3 is intelligent enough to kill tasks automatically to free ram. If you are on 2.1 then advanced task killer by bright wallace is good.
CheersS!

if i may add;
an unused RAM/CPU is a wasted RAM/CPU
Try advanced task killer
I used advanced task killer while on 2.1 but since 2.3 it's not necessary anymore; although you shouldn't need one you could try
-Go launcher go widget Task manager or
- Fast reboot App
if your phone gets laggy!

I think, if you install it as a system app it won't be killed.

With root explorer, move it to system/app and change permissions.
Or you can use es file explorer, its free
I think you'll need to rename your current launcher. Add .bak to it.
Thanks for the suggestion, it still shows up in the task manager, another question how do I get ADW to boot with a theme8

if you install as a system app (perms 644) and set as default, then edit you build.prop with this line:
RO.HOME.APP.ADJ=1
it should hold it in memory. The only other way to do it is set the OOM value to something like -2 (and I can't remember how to do that). Also, pretty sure adw has a setting to "keep home in memory" which should help also.
Hi everyone. .is there any app like task manager that make application's stay in memory?
