[Q] DXKPD closest to STOCK deodexed & other tweaks - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hi! I need a solution for DXKPD closest to STOCK, SU with CWM, EXT4, A2SD Dark Tremor, deodexed & other tweaks. Basically I need to flash to stock DXKPD then add on the other features to the stock ROM. Can anyone please help? Thank you very much!

Create 1x FAT32 partition and 1x ext4 partition in Gparted>flash DXKPD>flash lovetz's deodex and root zip> flash CWM> flash CF Root kernel> install a2sdgui.
enable tweaks from tweak manager courtesy of CF Root, shift delvik cache and applications to sd-ext.
Overclocking impossible for now on stock.

Any other cool tweaks to maximize the device's usability?
Thanks for the reply, happily1986! Any other cool tweaks to maximize the device's usability? Undervolting, ondemand governor, battery maximizer, Jupa, speed tweaks and such?

Under tweaks, i have basically enabled everything except for conservative governor. Note for DT auto start, you must have a2sd present prior!
Not possible to alter voltage neither is it possible to manipulate clock frequencies.
I chose performance governor so that CPU speed is maximised whenever possible but of course battery performance is not that good. You can't win em all!
Other tweaks? I installed autostarts and basically disabled alot of apps from starting up when my phone is started up. Why? Cos i don't need apps to tell me what to do, i START them when i want to!
I ran Zeppelinrox's V6 Supercharger script.
I froze and delete alot of annoying system bloatware to reduce my ROM size. Do Google and gind out which system app is useless to you. Note useless is a definition best taken as subjective. I cast out the stock launcher for launcherpro and i shifted launcherpro to /system/app for zippiness.

In CF Root, which file should I download for DXKPD? I can only find DXKPB. Thanks!

link2sd, need more speed. help!

so ive been having problems with my x10 running very slow. im rooted with stock 2.1 update 1 rom. i run adw launcher with 2 widgets in the background. weather and google search. i have (in my opinion) quite a few apps and it got to the point where i my internal phone storage was low (approx 30mb free) i ran quadrant benchmark and got a consistent 450. so i did the easiest thing i could think of, bought a 32GB patriot class 10 mSDHC and partitioned it. i installed link2sd and moved all my user apps over and i have 307MB free on the internal memory. the phone is significantly faster now but it still only gets 520-530 on quadrant. is there anything else i can do besides loading/testing some of these custom roms that still have bugs? when i see a problem free 2.2/2.3 rom come out for the x10 then ill make the move but i need to find another route to up the phones speed for the moment.
there isn't much you can do with stock ROM but i would suggest to enable JIT it will improve your phone's CPU speed considerably.
but if you really want speed i would recommend this custom ROM, it is simply awesome and it doesn't have more bugs than the stock rom has, you can make a backup of your actual ROM in xrecovery, install this custom ROM, test it, and if you don't like it you can always restore your previous ROM
this is what you do he is uploading his latest, if its not stable message me and i can send over what you need over aim http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1105662 thats the thread, http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...ers&txt=http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G heres flash tool what you do is install flashtool on pc go into phone settings turn on application debugging then put his rom on youre sd card root phone with it attached to pc when it reboots its now rooted request root permissions select allow on phone in flashtool select ask root permissions in flashtool then select install xerecovery when it says done go to advanced tab in flashtools select reboot recovery phone will reboot to menu select factory reset thenselect wipe cache and davelik cach then select install rom from sd card, then post questons in that topic its what im running my quadrant is 980 its 2.1 still so camera and video work same as they did stock

thanks guys, i love this forum. i would have never known about the JIT enabler. i went from 490 in quadrant to 801. MUCH faster, i can deal with that until some awesome 2.2/2.3 ROM comes out and i feel brave enough to jump.

[Q] NOOB question on overclock and custom rom?

Hi guys i've customised sony ericssons before but i am a total noob when it comes to this. Can somebody help me I am running on 2.3.3 on my new galaxy ace phone. As far as I know its not rooted I bought it from the shop, I want to overclock from 800Mhz to the possible 921Mhz, and I would like some better visuals. Can somebody help me choose a good rom and give me a quick guide on how I will install it without cocking my phone up ?
Many thanks,
Rob

I'm sure you are aware of this, but overclocking is a big no-no. Overclocking should only be done if you want to push your device to the absolute physical limit, not to improve performance. A lot of people (including me) reported random reboots and shutdowns and touchscreen malfunctions, even when using a 804MHz clock speed.
If you want performance, the safest way to go would be applying (and flashing) tweaks. I use GadgetCheck's V8.5 Turboboost along with Slaid's FastMOD. It's cool and the change is quite noticeable.
Okay, enough of the OC rant.
Firstly, you need to install a custom recovery. For the Ace, we have ClockworkMod's Recovery, available in two versions: 4.0.0.9 (official support) and 5.x.x.x (non official, but it works just as well).
Secondly, BACKUP your device with CWM Recovery, just in case anything unfortunate happens. If something ****ty does happen (and trust me, it WILL happen), you can just restore your backup you made earlier.
Now, you just need to choose your preferred ROM. Here some of the most used ROMs:
1. Custom stock ROMs.
They are mostly stock ROMs with a lot of visual and perfomance tweaks. It won't outperform CM-based ROMs, but battery life is [relatively] excellent.
2. CM7 ports
Currently, we have 3 (or 4 was it?) CM7 ports. The original port of CM7 was compiled by Behrad (he's not developing for Ace anymore, unfortunately) and is quite old. Another one by Grif_07. Those two are based on CyanogenMod 7.1 and are quite awesome and stable. Then there's a newer one by Axel based off CyanogenMod 7.2. Seriously, I don't notice much difference, except for a slight improvement of performance.
CM7 ports and ROMs are also famous for their miserable battery life (on the Ace, anyway. I don't know on any other devices).
3. Ice Cream Sunday Final Based on Axel's CM7.2 port
This ROM is renown for it's absolute blazing speed and lightness. I can't even comprehend how Jusada managed that. Even without flashing tweaks, it's still lightning fast.
But performance requires sacrifice, and ICSunday Final is no exception. Although it has some fancy transition animations, it's barebones, meaning that non-important apps are removed. These include the default File Manager, DSP Manager and the Spare Parts utility for Android.
4. GingerCruzt 2.3 Based on Axel's CM7.2 port
This is quite a semi-antithesis of ICSunday. It's not as fast, but it's really, very, extremely beautiful. Apart from that, it has some Sony Ericsson features such as the Bravia engine and xLoud. It's also not barebones, so most of the default apps are still there. Developed by nims11.
5. Infinity ROM Based on Axel's CM7.2 port
A newcomer (released, like, three days ago). If you thought GC2.3 was beatiful, wait till you see this one. Developed by the same developer, it's ungodly gorgeous and I love it half to death. Unfortunately, the reason I'm not using it right now is because it's too transparent. Not 70% or 75% transparency, but full blown 100% transparent, which causes some text difficult to see.
Okay, I may or may not update this post with links, but hopefully I will.

See my sig and then decide if you really want to overclock
Do NOT overclock. I repeat, do not overclock
Not stable on 921mhz.
Everyone cool down.dude in ma opinion try ics final which has Oc kernel from beginning .but if u want to try another rom which don't have oc kernel flash ketut kumajyas Kernel patch. Remember oc kernel will only work on cm7 based roms. To change frequency go to cyanogen settings > performance than first try frequency of 844 as min and max both. never ever check the box restore settings on boot. Now on each frequency do tests like playing games to see your phone is stable or not. When you got the frequency on which your phone is stable check the box restore cpu settings. Now you have perfect oc
If I helped u in any means hit the thanks button..........

It depends on the device. My phone can handle overclocking up to 840MHz or so, while my mother's phone (also SGA) can't even handle an OC kernel, even though it's not OC-ed.

hey thanks for the replys!
I have managed to install Clockworksmod recovery 5 and I have backed up and saved the backup file to desktop.
I want to install ICS Final and in the instructions it tells me to:
You need cwm5 installed, then wipe system, partition and davick. . . .then go to mounts and wipe data, system and cashe.
then install zip
after install, go through set up then set oc if you use and any other settings then reboot.
I can find the option for wipe data/factory reset
is partion on advanced, partion sd card? and my sd card is 2gb do i click 2048 mb?
then wipe dalvik cache?
Then is it format /data , /system /cache?
Then do i install the ICS zip from my sd threw clockworkmods recovery?
Thanks!

Are you trying to partition your SD card through CWM? If so, don't click on 2048, but on how big you want your ext partition to be. If you don't know what ext partitions are, you better just skip that part.
Yes, flash ICSFinal through the "install zip from sd card" option.
hey guys i really appreciate the replys but i have managed to brick my phone, i think lol. I backed up with clockworksmod recovery and flashed ICS final and all went well but I prefer the stock rom. I tryed to recover and when I did i just get stuck at the samsung gt etc... screen. So I have just flashed again to ICS and it seems I am stuck on this now.
My sd is stuck into the phone aswell so I cant attempt to take it out, anybody have any ideas what is wrong? Thanks

Wohoooo it is time for Odin flash.
OK solution-simple you can't use that backup. Go to sammobile website from there you can download latest firmware of your area(continent) and download a cooper. Ops file. There is a guide in sammobile on how to use Odin flash. Read it carefully if any problems then ask here. All above mentioned files can be found in website.
Reason -u can't use backup bcz stock rom flash our system with rfs format and ics with ext4 format. So backups doesn't not change system type.......

At first I thought that overclocking is cool and good but it just uses power and my sgs2 is fast enough underclocked to 1ghz, though if your phone has some lag, maybe then u should overclock slightly, but if it's lag free, I wouldn't recommend to overclock

I have downloaded my firmwire, will united kingdom be unlocked because the only 02 network i see is on german. What did you mean by a cooper file? Thanks
Sorry mate thing is my mobile doesn't have network lock so do not know the answer plzz ask anybody else before proceeding. And about cooper. Ops file read the Odin guide u will get it.

[Q] Score of my cm7.2 deodex rom benchamrks, is it good?

I deodex my rom and after installation i think the rom occupied more space. Is that true?
I´ve apply Achep´s patch and know i can´t remember if the space that i don´t find is because patch or by making deodex to rom!
Edit:
My new question is: Is this a good score?
Deodexed ROM occupies less space than odexed, coz executable code (classes.dex) is compressed inside apk-file instead of lying side-by-side as odex-file.
UPS. Ah, you mean not system partition, but data partition. Then yes, deodexed ROM use more space in data partition because of increased dalvik cache.
i haven't got a benchmark

[Q] How to add a2sd to Stock ROM?

Hi, I know lots of people ask how to run a2sd on a Stock rom, and I know it's not possible.
But what I want is as close to stock as possible, just a Stock rom but with just enough changed to run a2sd.
Well, I have got my stock S5830i 2.3.6 in Cygwin Kitchen, rooted, busybox and runparts.
I flash it, root works, the initd folder is there, the sd card has an ext2 partition.
But as soon as I flash dta2sd or mod the initrc it wont boot.
If i try mount2sd the script fails as the ext partition wont mount.
When turning a stock rom to a custom rom, what bit do I need to edit to enable the sd-ext to mount ???
The devs do a great job with fancy custom roms but a lot of us just want standard with a a2sd, any help appreciated.
Thanks,
M

Have you used the app; Link2SD from play store??

[Guide] Use F2FS file system for best performance.

I used F2FS file system on data and cache partition and now its like i have a nexus 6p there is little to no UI lag or even any delay in opening apps.
Used to use F2FS on my previous devices(lg g2, Galaxy S2 and Xperia Z ultra) and man the effect was noticeable from day1, so tried it on this device and guess what it works flawlessly.
Here is a thread for comparition between F2FS vs EXT4(the default one).
So here is guide for you guys its Highly dangerous setup so please follow this if you know how to restore a SoftBrick status.
Caution:--
ONLY FOR CM13 and N based roms which support F2FS, If used on OOS3 or H2OS(mm) it will result in not converting the data/cache partition properly and will end up 0mb partition because of modified twrp used for these roms and you wont be able to be mount your internal memory too.
Backup backup backup. Make sure you take a backup and save it on your pc before performing the steps.
Things you can do to make your life easier:--
Clean flashing of rom is highly recommended but you can try dirty too as it does not touch the system partition but still clean is preferred.
Use ZipMe app to make a zip file for your apps so that installing all those apps becomes easier if coming from clean flash.
Full backup of your internal memory files as this setup formats even your internal memory even if you select only the data partion.
Best stay on stock kernel as there is no mention of any cm13 custom kernel to have f2fs support. They may have but in any thread of these i couldnt find f2fs word anywhere. So stay stock.
Rom compatibility/tried on:--
Exodus.
All cm13 based roms work flawlessly.
LineageOS14
Kernel compatibility:--
Darkbeast
Stock kernel or the one provided by default by the rom.
Yarpin's kernel.
Benschold kernel.
Note:- Please this method has worked on F2FS supported roms only before following any of it make sure your rom developer has incorporated f2fs support in his/her rom.
Steps:--
Use revert2lollipop to revert back to lollipop firmware if you are on OOS3/H2OS and wanna try f2fs.
Download and upgrade your twrp version to latest.
Copy the .img file to your root folder and reboot to twrp select--->Install-->Install images button-->select the new .img file you copied and reboot to recovery.
Format everything including your internal memory.
Go to advance wipe and select cache partition and select repair and change file system, once there select change file system and change it to f2fs and swipe. Images.
Repeat the above step for data partition.
Go to twrp settings and tick rm -rf, this will make your device retain your f2fs system after clean flash of some roms.
Reboot your recovery once and copy back all your data back to your internal memory.
Flash the required modem for your rom and clean flash your rom for the best bug free experience.
Benefit!
PS:- Please if someone daring does use this on another rom and if everything works flawlessly then please post about it, i will add it compatible roms/kernels.
Press thanks if it worked for you and do post about any improvements you saw.

Yeah for now, since for f2fs roms to work properly the kernel also needs to support the file system and no custom kernel has f2fs as a feature mentioned in their list. I couldnt find anything related to f2fs even with the search function, will update the thread if f2fs support is confirmed by the devs of the respective kernels.

Yeah if you connect to PC after conversion you will be able to access your memory as you used to with default system.
Just make sure to wipe system, data, cache, dalvic, internal before going any further for good measure.

Honestly I wouldn't notice a difference unless you put 2 phones running ext4 and f2fs side by side for comparison. But if I were to really force an answer out from myself I would say that app opening and switching times are greatly reduced.

It really isnt needed because in system partition most of the time only read function is done while data and cache constantly need read/write functions to be performed so you wont notice anything different if you format system to f2fs.
