Helo,
My flyer is set to manual minimum brightness. Even in that setting I find it bright for my eyes. Is there any 3rd party or any setting that will reduce it further ?
Yeah try screen filter from the market. It works wonders

I have also tried to dim it but found the minimum setting too bright. Thanks!
Juice Defender.
You can use Juice Defender to lower the brightness. It's a overall a great app once you get the hang of the settings.

If the kernel you use supports voodoo color does it work automatically? Or do you need support apps like for BLN or voodoo sound?
Voodoo color works at 100% brightness only
Do I just blast the brightness and it works?

Do people know pressing the notification bar sets the brightness?
Left is lowest middle is middle and right is highest, so when I don't use it,
I put it in lowest and when I do, I put it highest for better quality.

That is such an awesome feature! Just slide your finger across the status bar left or right and voila!
Rock on!

That is pretty cool, they also make widgets that you can quickly control your brightness. The one I use is made by curvefish.
The above works as long as you have auto-adjust brightness turned off.
Just wanted to save a few it doesn't work on my phone posts.

Hello!
Very first post in this board...
There's similar threads under different phones but nothing I can find under the mopho forum, if there is please redirect me!
so here it goes: is there any way to decrease the brightness of the screen beyond moving the slider in the settings down to 0?
Thanks!
There's a free app in market called screen filter made by haxor. Try it!
There is also that power widget that allows you to set it to auto, lower and higher. Not sure if that is low enough though.

I think all this app does is "grey out" your screen. I'm pretty sure that the backlight stays at whatever setting it was at before starting the filter. You may get a bit of savings by disabling the soft key backlight, if you have them.
Not trying to be a smarta$$, but I do love this app.

App does the trick ... except it adds another icon to the display at the top. Isn't there a file that can be edited in the system to reduce the minimum brightness level?
Title says it all ^^ what is it ? And yeah i know its a nooby question lol

brightness is automatically adjusted using the light sensor, which you have above the display this is for saving battery
when your battery low , the brightness get low
Thanks everyone will give +1 when on pc.^_^

If you walk into a dark room, auto-brightness will turn the screen brightness down so you don't strain your eyes unnecessarily. If you got outside on a sunny day, it will turn the screen brightness up to help you see it better.
Automatic brightness seems to not be working very well in ICS - randomly adjusts instead of constantly. Anyone else?

Same thing here. Noticed the display is taking up a lot more battery than it did in Gingerbread.
I've never really used automatic brightness. It still uses too much battery for my liking. I always keep it set to like 15-20%

With how easy it is to adjust using the notification bar, I've never used automatic on any of my phones.

Automatic Brightness
I use a handy little brightness widget on my home screen, and set it to 25%
it has several presets, including automatic.
Autobrightness or full
Standard. Dynamic. Movie. Natural?
Which is the best.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Used to use natural till I noticed it didn't make battery much better. Normal all day now lol. Always auto brightness

I use full brightness all day and dynamic all day...
Dynamic with auto brightness.

Auto brightness is just too dark for me. Auto brightness OFF, slider at 75% and Natural. I used to use Dynamic, and I'm thrilled we we have the option, but every now and then with Dynamic on an images color will look just completely blown out and I ended up moving it back to Natural which is still plenty saturated with the Super AMOLED display.

Dynamic and Auto-Brightness. There is no 'best' option. It's just personal preference. I like the saturated colors I get with Dynamic, and I dont watch movies on phones anymore so it doesnt bug me. I keep a brightness toggle on my drawer so if I show co-workers some video clips or something I can wow them with a super bright display
I just use natural and auto
Standard w/auto brightness. Love this freaking phablet!
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
You pretty much have to lower the setting if you want natural colors. But who wants natural colors on a Samsung device!? Oversaturation ftw.
Try lux auto brightness....

Can't do dynamic, makes the women I set as my backgrounds like sun burnt to a terrifying degree.

Lux auto brightness and standard. my girlfriend always goes on about how nice the colors are on my phone, her incredible 4g looks so washed out next to the note 2.

Yeah I hate the washed out natural color look. I am perfectly aware that the Standard screen mode is way too saturated to be accurate color representation but imho, I love it. Especially running Beans ROM with the nice AOSP blue notification icons. Looks gorgeous!
I'm going to have to start playing with these settings!
I just wanted to take a minute to thank the guys who mentioned Lux Auto-Brightness. I just purchased it and it really is quite spectacular. I didn't realize we could have this kind of control over our auto brightness. Thanks guys!
auto brightness all day everyday! I don't notice a change in battery life though to be honest

What do you mean, "keep a brightness toggle in my drawer" is there stock, isn't it?
I use auto on standard and when showing others video, tap off the auto in the notifications which switches to full brightness.
I've gotten used to the auto being slightly dinner than I prefer. Wish there was a setting to adjust that.
