[Q] Need stock camera.apk, and other files - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Hi, I am hoping that someone could provide me with the i777 stock camera.apk, camerafirmware.apk as well as the odex files. I was messing around with my friends phone and ended up deleting these. I've tried the files from other roms but could not find the odex files. He prefers to keep his phone the way it is (stock rooted) and not have a custom rom. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Please PM me if you can help.

I'm not familiar with how Samsung ships its roms, but have you tried finding the official ROM and extracting it to get the files you need?
Last resort, you could back up, then factory reset your friend's phone to get it back to how it was.
Also a little tip, in the future, when messing with system files, rather then deleting them, just rename them and add .bak as an extension, then if what you tried to do didn't work, simply rename and remove the .Bak and your original file is restored.

[Q] Signing Help ..

Hey all, Well i know we could not wait for a Honeycomb theme, i know i cannot, but heres my conundrum.
I have made a honeycomb keyboard, but cannot get it to install for the life of me, ive used the testkeys, shared, platform, etc (all using Signapktic from Stericson. Does anyone have any clue as to why it will not install?
A few questions that i know you might ask, answered ...
No, there is no other keyboard, other than swype, and samsung keypad..
I made it off of the GB keyboard...
Yes, I have made many of themes, many of changes to Frameworks, and have had sucess installing, and running my custom roms....
My question basically is this, IF POSSIBLE, CAN ANYONE SIGN THE FILES I HAVE TO MAKE THIS WORK? PM ME AND I SHALL SEND THE FILES. CREDIT WILL BE GIVIN, I AM ON THE OTHER HAND GOING TO NEED SOME SORT OF PROOF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING, I WORKED REAL HARD ON THIS, SO FOR RIGHT NOW ITS PRIVATE, HENSE THE PM.
THANKS AGAIN IN ADVANCE. REMEMBER .. LETS GET THIS HONEYTCOMB GOING
I know that most of the keyboards dont work simply by installing but rather need to be pushed to the data\app or data\app_s folder depending on which rom you are running. You can accomplish this using adb or using a file explorer like RootExplorer.
Thanks
Thank you man, this helps a whole lot. Now do i need to re-sign each apk inside the rom folder? or can i just re-sign the .zip?

I'm not sure what .zip you're refering to other than a CWM recovery flashable .zip for you keyboard. If this is what you mean, then use the same signiture (key) you'd find in any of the flashable .zips on the forums. In other words, just copy over the META-INF folder from some other .zip to yours. Of course, you'll want to make sure the update-script in this folder is pointing at the proper directories for installation.
For your apk, you should only need to sign it if you changed the AndroidManifest.xml. Otherwise, just keep the META-INF folder from them original apk.

How to flash a .bak file

I installed the Virus ROM and my market switched back to the original theme. I am now trying to get the theme that came with the ROM because it switched to the original for whatever reason. I was doing a little research and seen a comment that stated I had to change the marketupdater.apk file to a .bak file and flash the themed market.I tried to flash CWR and reboot but that didnt work. Mind you all I am an amateur so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
pretty sure u just edit the .Apk to .bak so its still there but its now been disabled

[Q] How To get Stock Apps ??

i am using samsung galaxy ace with a custom rom. i want to have some of the stock apps mainly stock camera, stock task manager, and stock messages. is there a way i can get it and put it in my custom rom ???
my method-
i am not sure whether this will work or not but i think that if i get the apk file then i can put it in root/system/apps and set permissions to rw-r-r. this should work according to me.
but how do i get the apk file?
for that also i think i could extract it from the installation files for stock rom...
but the installations i have come across are either .md5 or .tar files for stock rom. hence i am unable to help to extract it and get the apk file. also i am unable to find a direct zip installation setup via cwm for stock rom. if i get that then its easy to extract the apks.
please help. i am not sure if my method is right. if it is then help me with it, if not then please tell me the other method
I think it´s not that easy, becaus the stock apps are using another framework, so they will not work if you just put them in the root/system/app folder. You have to install the framework which is used by the stock Samsung rom. If I´m wrong please correct me.

[q] uninstalled file manager -- need it back

While I was trying to clear the data of the file manager, I inadvertently uninstalled the file manager.
I am rooted on Virtuous Prime. I tried to use Titanium to extract the file manager from a nandroid backup; this did not work.
I do not have a titanium backup of the file manager.
Surprisingly, I like this stock file manager.
Is there a way I can get it back? A download?
Can I use adb to push the file manager to the device after extracting it from a ROM?
I don't know if this is the right one, but we can try it. It's the only one I could find.
I also have another file called filemanager2.odex
Im thinking that's just the data in my file manager....if you need that 2nd file, let me know
Added the file...had to change odex to zip to upload....just delete zip and change it back

If you are on a stock ASUS firmware, most of your system APKs will be odexed. You need both the APK and the odex file for the app to run.
A lot of custom ROMs have deodexed files for several reasons. Some people swear that deodexed ROMs are faster, some swear the opposite. Modifying deodexed ROMs is theorectically slightly easier also as you only need to deal with one file rather than 2.
This is a rather simple, nonsensical explanation of the situation, and I'm sure other folks will chip in with more accurate definitions, however, getting back to the point, YOU WILL NEED THE ODEX FILE ALSO IF ON STOCK.

Can someone help me with a flash able zip?

OK I honestly can't figure these out can someone please help me out with a flash able zip that I can put an app into (titanium backup) and two files that would replace ones in /system/media/audio/ui. I have been trying to use random flashables emptying them and putting my files in but it never works so I'd love to just have someone give me one I can simply drop my files into.
