pssssst Liberty Customizer works.... - Motorola Droid X2

Pull it from the Bionic zip!
Liberty 3 x2 rc1
I had to create a shortcut w/ super manager.

I would tweet this to kejar31 if I were u and talk to him about it. Or private message him on here or rootzwiki. It might help him with our final build when they get to it.

Well isn't that just lovely

Just tested this. If you reboot, after pushing the apk, an icon will display in the status bar which you can use to access it. It's useful if you want to add blur apps into liberty rather than aosp or simply add random blur apps.

Nice I'm about to push it now

Also install Liberity Settings.apk
You still need to make a shortcut for this to get to everything. I use super manager.activity.

Tips/Support/Future Release Information
History and Explanation of this ROM:
This ROM was started as a Project to help me along the ways to becoming a developer for Android. I don't classify myself as a "good" developer, but this ROM has taught me a lot and the information I have come across since the initial build of this ROM has made me that much better at becoming what I need to be to make this ROM and Project a reality.
The reason why I choose GO! Apps over AOSP is the fact that they have so many features and really isolate a lot of battery drain. The developers @GO! have did an amazing job with these apps and are used in place until I finish building the actual wp7 apps from source. Once I have accomplished a good foundation for those apps, I will replace them to match the theme of this ROM. The goal is to get wp7 UI on Android and not just by replacing a few apps here and there. This will be a project and the day that this ROM is "complete" is when ALL apps(everything that I or any developer supporting this ROM can touch) with a WP7 styling.
Why? Because I honestly feel that WP7 has one of the cleanest and nicest UI's that I have seen on a mobile device. But I choose Android over wp7 because of the Potential the Android platform has with the UNLIMITED customization and the openness of Android. WP7 will probably never have the number of features that Android can offer and with Google's push to keep things open as much as they can, Microsoft has no chance. So, with that comes me and my project(I'm sure there are others as well) to get that WP7 clean and slick UI to our Android Devices.
The Blur camera is used over AOSP because I have had less compatibility issues with the Blur Camera as opposed to AOSP; especially trying to record Hi Def videos on the x2. Soon there will be an AOSP Camera app and soon everything will be built from source.
Tips:
-Check out =yankoa @deviantart.com for some nice icons for your tiles.
-To unpin from the home screen, Hold>Click Upper Right icon.
-To move tiles, Hold>Drag to where ever>Back Button.
-To enable swype, just go through the installer process. Once complete. You can uninstall the Installer.
-To enable the WP7 Popups. Go to PopUP SMS and enable through that application. You can then Change the Tile color for the Popup. It will be a Block at the top of your screen when you receive a Text Message. You can click on the Text to view in Default SMS app or click X to remove the Tile. You can then disable by uninstalling the App or Untick the box. Make sure you set Go SMS to not disable other Notifications. And to Turn off Go SMS Notifications.
-You can remove apps from the Drawer by holding the app of choice and remove. **This does not Uninstall**
-You can change the App Drawer to the normal android drawer within Launcher7 Settings. Just press menu select option.
-You can change the Tile Color within Launcher7 settings
-To pin other apps to front page, go to drawer, select and hold app, pin to home. Then in the settings you can choose what options you want for the tile.
Warning: DO NOT REMOVE LAUNCHER 7 FROM SYSTEM/APP FOLDER! YOU WILL KILL THE LAUNCHER AND FORCE A SBF IF YOU HAVEN'T SETUP SYSTEM RECOVERY!
How you can help:
-Check the Known Bugs section of the first post if you find a bug. If the bug is not listed, Post within this thread.
-Donate to the developer/Press Thanks Button/Nominate for Developer of the Month.
-There are some issues I am having with the theming. If you see an error(white text on white background), send me a PM or post on this thread the solution. I know some but not all and the quicker I get the solution, the quicker I can get you and the rest of the community a Patch.
Future Release Info:
-Sense UI Transitions
I'm not totally sure if this is possible due to a locked BootLoader, But I plan on building a new launcher from the ground up on the next major release which should allow me to make these transitions and also add live tile support. This is not something to be talked about at current on this forum. PM me if you have any advice or know what you are doing when it comes to developing, to get this feature quicker.
-Port/Build wp7 system apps(dialer, phone, sms, etc)
This is going to be my next venture in android development. I want to build the apps from source and try to recreate the look and function of the wp7 apps for a better wp7 look.
-Theme Manager
Of all my plans, this will probably be the first to be completed; as for future development goes. This will allow quick swapping of the theme. The overall look will stay inverted with color accents(hold on a notification) for a more custom look when you flash this rom. The idea should work with other x2 roms, and possibly other devices. The Theme Manager will allow users to also create his or her own theme(whether custom, UOT, and/or within the actual theme manager) and allow quick swapping of elements within the ROM. This will more than likely be a GBP7 only release, with two market versions(paid/free) for other developers and users to use. Think of it like Liberty Toolbox, but for themes.
-PowerMod v2
I'm going to probably start testing this after I get a patch or two released, and when the next major release comes out(2.3.5) I will probably be including this if the tests go well.
downloading now. this looks very promising and im actually more excited to tryout this rom over any others in the past due to the fact that this looks completely different.
Any idea when the notifications issue will be straightened out? if not, no prob, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the excitement! lol makes me feel better with the time I've had with this.
As soon as I find the error. The problem lies with me adding the Toggle notifications to the dropdown. I'm still trying to figure out how to edit the xml files lol .. but should be within a couple days I'll release a patch just for that issue.
I'll definately be trying this out after one or two releases are done to get some bugs out. I hope you stick with this and make it. It looks very promising.

Thanks. Right now there aren't really any "Bugs" that I can find anyway. The only problem is the notifcation pulldown lol... its set to black text and Im still trying to figure out how to edit the xml files. Once I can do that, ill be set. OR i could just change the background of the notfication to something else...Probably end up doing that.
Hmm would it be okay to update the road runner scripts to the sonic scripts v2 to v3? Thinking about giving this a try.
IMO you should've named the ROM WindowBread 7 or GingerWindow 7

Thank you for trying this out. I probably forgot to swap the friendcaster pro for the free one. You can add other tiles in from the app drawer and you can edit tiles by holding them, then clicking the configuration button upper left side of tile.
Ahh I see with the music tile there was no music app in the drawer and I hadn't give threw ti backup yet for my music app but like I said looks promising I hope u continue on it and do not let the haters get on ya I look forward to future versions

Thanks, and I'm glad you found out how to edit the files.
A little information about me. IM NOT A DEVELOPER PERSEE. haha this rom is for me to tinker with and to learn how to develop for future ideas and apps. This rom will have my full support and will probably get updated frequently over the next few weeks as I learn different things and make it better. Right now I'm trying to get the Notification issue worked out(black BG on black text). It's a simple fix, but Ive got other daily things I have to take care of. I work everyday except Sundays, thus giving me limited time to work with. But I'm constantly editing the Rom. I've had it now for like 3 weeks and I've been tinkering with it as I can, trying to learn the limitations and work arounds. The Launcher needs edited BADLY and as soon as I have got a feel for xml editing and app production, I will start working on it to Automatically have certain tiles set and eventually add Live Tile support like the WP7s(this should be like 1-2 months away ..) But I will be getting the ROM bloat free and More AOSP and HOPEFULLY blurless by next weekend, Maybe middle of next week. Still waiting on feedback to determine whether to use AOSP text messaging and Dialer or Use GO! replacements and other APPS that need to go or come to the rom. PERSONALLY, I like the GO! replacements for the features they have in them(SMS has FB Chat Integration as well as a DATA IM Client, all of which runs within your SMS app).
You could always make to versions one with go one more asop and get feedback on both before u decide which one to develop more

Thats not a bad idea actually. My only worry is the setup phase of this phone. Its been very aggravating flashing my phone multiple times a day and setting up my other apps that I don't have featured in this and setting up my accounts back on the phone. But I will probably do that after this next release.
QUESTION FOR ALL!!!
Does anyone know how to put Swype Beta's data file in the data/data folder when flashing a rom? I tried to put my license within the data folder upon bootup, but I don't think it flashed and the way it was setup in tests was I had the data folder set correctly for flashing, but it didnt flash the /data/data/ folder. The line is *command_here_extract_folder* /data which dumps the contents of /data/ from .zip to /data/ of the phone. Weird, but it don't work sadly .. any ideas? or is just keeping the installer fine till the official is released?
If the power doesn't go off tonight, I will be uploading an update fixing the notifications and removing/moving some of the apps that aren't useful. Hopefully around 9 est. You should have it.

Lockscreen Patterns and Other Metamorphs: The First of Many!

This thread is for a series of Metamorph files I will be releasing. To install these mods, you must have a rooted phone and a copy of metamorph. Some theme features may not be available on non cyanogen mod roms, but there should be at least partial compatibility with every ROM and most Android devices, not just atrix.
Download: Click one of the links below:
LockScreens:
- GunMetal - Simply replaces the default green and red pattern icons with grey ones.
- CyanBread LockScreen - Just like it sounds, this is a FULL FEATURED theme for the Cyanogenmod lockscreen. Replaces default white textures with beautiful cyan ones (as requested)
- Hades - A complete, red lockscreen theme for android
- Kobalt - A complete Cobalt blue lockscreen theme
- Kemical - A green lockscreen for your android.
To use these themes, you must have Metamorph app from the market. Use Metamorph to unzip zip file and then open the XML file inside. Phone will reboot and Voila! New, beautiful Lock Screen!
Please note: there is a bug with these themes that you will get a invalid theme error..just reopen metamorph and click pick existing theme and run it anyways. It will work.
Cheers!
Dont forget to press the Thanks button
This is poppin! Will u be releasing a screen transition metamorphs too? We need some new ones.
Very nice! It set my wallpaper to default though. Is this to be expected?
Would this work with stock rom?
If you can, please make a Rotary revamped buttons (unlcok, sound\mute, middle andorid icon for custom app) that suits the Cyanbread theme.
Thanks !
Installed on Homebase Chronic Blue. Worked great, but it also reset my wallpaper. No big deal though. Thanks
I'm not completely sure what it takes to make all new animations but I'll check it out. In the meantime, checkout these ones:

The Flyin animations are particularly nice
As for the rotary revamped theme, I'll start making one as soon as I get the time.

I made one that should fit your theme quite nicely. I apologize that I sorta went lazy on the icons, but the rest of it is top notch

Yes, whenever you first apply a framework-res metamorph file, it will always reset your wallpaper to a system default one. Just set it back

I think that you should try to use the original icons, not caching them but to color them with cyan color that suits the theme.

It's probably possible, but the sliders will not necessarily be in the same location. If you can get me a copy of the framework-res file, I can do it.

I don't think space is actually the issue, i am getting the same error message, chose to apply the theme anyway and its clearly not doing anything, just stuck at 'applying framework-res.apk'
When attempting to replace the hades lockscreen zip i get the error : 'the theme you selected is invalid because the control file could be missing, or is not correctly written'.
Also running CM7, issue persists after reboot.
PS. if i could get this running, i would love a 'hades' color version of the Lense style lockscreen!

Sorry bout that problem. I made a mistake with the theme file. I'll fix and upload. In the meantime, after it gives the error message, it should extract anyway. Just restart metamorph, open, and reapply the theme.

Transparent status bar theme

I'm on the quarx 2.16 nightly and was wondering if there's a theme out there that just makes the standard system theme have a transparent status bar (and maybe notification pull down too?)
I tried Orion theme, but don't like the miui style notification area. Is there a way to only use the status bar, but noneof the other mods (like icons, skinned dialer, etc.)?
I kinda like the simple system theme.
Thanks

Simply put no! Downloading a custom Rom is the only option @ this time.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
GoLauncherEx have that option, and it's a very nice launcher.
I don't know if there is a theme that does that, :/
Quarx added that feature to his nightlies, and the Orion theme and others w/ transparent status bars work. I'm just wondering if there's a theme out there that has the transparency, but not too many other drastic changes to the look and feel.

I'm pretty sure that a quick search on xda would have bring you some answers on this...but anyway..Read the second post of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448310
It might look long and complicated but itsn't so; it only takes 3-4 minutes to do after you've done it once...
On the first post there I even gave a transparent theme that I've moded.
Read all: pretty much every themes for cm7 can be made transparent but not every launchers support them and they might also require additional quick settings.
Cheers

Thanks,
I had read that post, but i didn't make it allthe way to the bottom, where i guess the answer i'm looking for is located. sorry. I guess I stopped reading, becasue i tought it would only work on the nightly you mentioned in the post. I was glad Quarx included the ability to have a transparent status bar, so i wasn't sure if changing all those files would be necessary.
I guess I'll get to work, figuring out which combo makes a good semi-transparent status bar. I wish there was a setting to control that (and notification area also?)
Yet another project making me step deeper into the world of Android. To think that when i got my defy (my first and only smartphone) i had no intention of rooting or anything. I guess that's what happens when the phone doesn't work well to begin w/
You can have a look here to get an idea on what to expect.
You know that an apk is basically a zip file right? So you could also get the 4 files with modified opacity (transparency) from my theme there and replace them in the SystemUI.apk of the nightly build you are using.
The only 'tricky' part in all this is to replace that SystemUI.apk on the system once those files are changed [and that you've used baksmali/smali to edit that 1 line in the statusbar.service file]. But really not a big deal with Terminal if you follow my instructions.
Lastly, I'd also suggest you to try Maniac103's latest nightly (Feb20th) because he fixed quite a few things lately and [to save you some work] I've already gave a CWM zip patch with transparency for it here - but read on there, I included 1 or 2 additional things in it like a different font... If just you just want transparency; you can pull the SystemUI.apk from the patch and use Terminal again to replace it on your phone.
EDIT: sorry! I just remembered that the patch doesn't contain those 4 modded png; only the one line change. So my theme would have transparency but not CM7 themes or others [without changing png anyway].
Anyhow: such a long answer...but if all that helped you in anyway -which I hope-, you can click that "Thanks" button
Cheers.

As last night I found out most of the apps and launcher on the Motorola Razr M can be install on the Droid Razr pretty easily. So here is the full instruction on how to get those apps on your Razr .
* Work on any custom ROM, CM9, CM10 or tablets
1. Go to system/app and rename the following file:
Weather.apk to Weather.bak
MotGallery.apk to MotGallery.bak
BlurCamera.apk to BlurCamera.bak
2. Download and installation:
Laucher: http://www.mediafire.com/?vac3w2o3ez4e8f7
- Copy launcher to system/app
- Set permission to RW-R-R
- Tap on the the file just copied and do a double installation to overwrite system app (this way Circle Widgets will work/ even after reboot, GPS toggle wont force close)
Circle Widget 3D: http://www.mediafire.com/?za571x2hm3rm2fm
- Install as normal app if fail push to system and set permission
Weather: http://www.mediafire.com/?qnfx8x5w3bassy3
- Install as normal app if fail, copy to system and set permission (only fail because you didn't follow my tutorial)
Gallery: http://www.mediafire.com/?2lo0p6ig9cwi4pg
- Copy to system/app and set permission to RW-R-R
Camera: http://www.mediafire.com/?9zcbh423ttwe9we
-Copy to system/app and set permission to RW-R-R
Messaging: http://www.mediafire.com/?al3n9i9k5213i1a
- Install as normal app, if fail push to system and rename existing Messaging.apk to Messaging.bak before copy to system app and set permission
Email: http://www.mediafire.com/?7jxaw9xqncjhurw
- Install as normal app
QuickView (notification count): http://www.mediafire.com/?s1ksmudp69aho5m
- Copy to system/app and set permission to RW-R-R
A few apps will disappear from the app drawer (such as Gallery) after the installation just give your phone a reboot and hola you have a brand new phone
Razr fan from Canada
great, i hope they are better than the ones from one more clock.
only thing missing is the link
circle widget cant show up ("this widget is not suported by third party launchers")
whats the difference between the stock razr gallery & razr m gallery? as far as i know, camera and everything is the same (unless razr m camera can do the continues fast burst shot)

The moto blur email in the RAZR M has two themes. Dark and white

The RAZR M launcher has one issue when u want to use the full height of the screen (for apps or widgets).
U can't use the most upper row.
Is there a fix for this?

In order for me to get the widget to work I had to NOT install the homescreen.apk into the system folder. I renamed the original in the system folder homescreen.bak, then just install the homescreen as a regular app and rebooted. This worked for me. Oh, also just install the circles widget as a regular app. Hope this helps.

Also, I was going through the full system dump and noticed the NFC apk's. Anyone know if this will work on the razr? I think the battery has to have something built into it for it to work. I know on my nexus you have to use certain batteries or you loose NFC.
Just some Screens.
For me everything works flawless just by putting the Circle, message, camera, gallery & weather apk into the System Apps Folder (set permissions) and install the Homescreen like an usual App.

Launcher needed to be put in system/app then install as update then wont force close
Ok, that can be an solution.
But compared to the Eclipse Launcher this one lags as hell.
Nitro did an better job than Moto

Yeah but you can't beat quick setting . By the way, anyone here find a way for the notification count to show up?
Eclipse got the Notification Toggles. No need 4 Quick Settings

True, I always wish I could find a stable and fully functional GSM rom
Flash the Eclipse with the GSM Patch.
For pure GSM Roms i recommend the FTS or Epsilon V5. FTS you'll find in Dev Section. For Epsilon i'll post you an link.

[MODS] Small Collection of Tweaks!

Hello! This is a bunch of tweaks I created to make Samsung devices better by modding the interface to really polish it. Enjoy!
Installation
Installing is simple. Navigate to the play store and download the required packages.
Substratum
Substratum Required Addon For Samsung
Samsung System Mods via Playstore (RECOMMENDED)
Samsung System Mods Direct APK (BACKUP)
Tips
- A reboot is usually required to apply the tweak.
- Some tweaks are incompatible on some devices.
- Oreo is in beta (until I get it)
- The nav bar heights are broken on the note and oreo. I can't fix it. Sorry.
- I can do requests. All I ask is you consider donating.
- You can hide status bar icons. You must use another APK: SystemUI Tuner (from the play store)
More mods are coming! Please leave suggestions for more mods you want so I can try and make them. I've been getting lots of positive feedback. Also, Tigerhoods, Pimpmaneaton, Venom, and Crayonyes have been helping me a bit, so big thanks to them .

I know everyone wants to get rid of the carrier name but I'd love to add it on my status bar lol any ideas? Cheers
Keep up the great work. I love my phone more and more for every day, and this is making it perfect.
Its all the small things, that makes it beautiful
Thank U
Added 2 more UI tweaks from the other post for the other phone. Includes removing either clock or battery icon from status bar. Thanks for the support!
Assuming all these require root?

Cracking!
Remove Unlock Text & Remove Status Bar Battery Icon (not percent) --> Work great. Big Thx.
THIS IS AMAZING!!!
The Disable Nav Bar tweak works perfect.
Before this tweak, I still applied the "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" line to the build.prop file, but with that, I lose the ability to take screenshots with the combo buttons (power + vol down).
Thank you for this awesome tweak!!!

I would like to do that too but I have yet to figure it how
The ability to remove time/date from lock screen
The ability to remove shortcuts, time/date, and unlock text from lockscreen
Either of which within your power?
This is probably beyond the scope of this project and doesn't seem to be any real answer. I've tried substratum clean lock and it doesn't work fully on samsung. Would be awesome if this is some magic you could work
If not, no worries. What you've got going on here is quite nice and much appreciated!

Ability to remove shourtcuts, you can do in settings/lockscreen. Without any mod.
To remove the unlock text, 1st page in this thread.
The only one I dont know anything about is clock and date on the lockscreen.
The other 2 worls perfect.

I'm aware what's in post one. Apparently, my wording was really bad lol. This was more or less a request to make 1 mod to remove time/date, and if it's possible to do that, then perhaps 1 mod to incorporate them all together as one mod - just to avoid having to download and install multiple mods.
However, I honestly hadn't seen the options to turn off shortcuts on the lock screen. So thanks for that!

Here you go, this should remove lock screen clock. I also have one that will theme it so it's not quite so ugly.
The aod hides are working great for me! See my attached screenshot
Thank you for these modifications. Hiding the clock and battery kind the status bar are my favorite mods.

Wow beat me to it! Nice work here! Only side effect I see is that the "Emergency Call" button text is transparent (#00000000). Will take a go at it, see if I can change the clock dimens instead of the color. If I can't get it to work, I'd be totally happy to add your APK to the OP and assign full credit for it if you want.
And if you're interested, maybe we could discuss more modding over Telegram. PM me if you are interested

As much as I'd love to take credit that came from someone else, although I have been modifying existing overlay apks pretty extensively, and I could use some motivation to setup Android studio and do this right
