+1 for this, have unlocked my T-Mobile UK Moto Atrix to use with my work Vodafone SIM, would like to remove the bloat-ware, maybe even upgrade to Gingerbread somehow (with a feasibility to revert to Factory ROM)

I've made mistake of loading Gingerbread orange fr which was so slow and unpleasant experience. So now it is on CM7 but need webtop some time soon and would like to have chance to move back to stock.

All I did is debranded my phone to LAM Generic R2BA026.
I backed up these files before I debranded my phone to Generic.
Did AT&T brand this firmware like crazy?
By the look of the file size posted by the OP, this firmware looks very slimmed down.
The generic 026 NAM weighs in about 124MB in size. This AT&T firmware is only 116MB. I am assuming PlayNow is not there and maybe other stuff.
Anyone install it on their device yet?
il try it
give me some time il throw it on right now il take that back my update app wont let meflash my phone sucks

I only spent 15 min on the ATT software before I debranded it, here is what I noticed
1) phone comes with at least 7 ATT apps
2) ATT boot screen ..DUH!
3) no play now
4) timescape is the same, mediascape has ATT music at the bottom
5) phone only comes with stock Android keyboard
6) google search widget has microphone icon next to it
7) youtube login account finally worked!! didnt work any of the generic firmwares for some reason
8) new wallpapers

It were said many times that X10 does not supports Multi-touch, so skip asking around about it.
It is seem the R2C firmware is just a customize for ATT, so sad
I'm quite curious to see anyone debrand it and upgrade it to 2.2...1.6 is soo old for a phone like that..
I asked the people at att and they say it was 2.1..turns out they lied.
Can you post apps and boot screen

You know they always will! Did they even know what you were talking about? I don't think so bro. A bunch of MORONS there. I plan on getting this phone too it looks sexier than captivate.
Did any one have any luck rooting their Xperia x10 on AT&T yet? If so, can you please tell us which of the rooting methods you used? I'm dying to get rid of all the bloated AT&T crap on the stock rom, and put my own on so that I can use the phone to its full potential.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has rooted their Xperia on AT&T and can tell us how they did it!
I used both methods. I used the 5 step (actually 7 for X10a) initially and then redid it with the 3 step for the 026 rom. On the three step I had to edit the third batch file to correct a syntax error.

And this was on the AT&T version of the x10a or a different version of it? If it's the AT&T version, can you tell me exactly how you did it so that I can root my phone as well?
Thanks!

[Q] Blurless Gingerbread on Atrix

Guys anyway to get a Blurless Gingerbread on my Atrix. BTW me in India so not sure if i would get the OTA update. Am still running on the stock Blur 2.2.2, Can anyone help me please?
read around in dev. its being worked on. we currently do not have any fully functional aosp rom
i think you have to unlock boot loader and upgrade yourself.
I doubt,we will get OTA in India.
^^Why do you want to wait for OTA ? Unlock the bootloader on the damn thing and flash to a brand new ROM!
blurless nope u have to wait for someone to complete an AOSP rom.

If you imported an AT&T atrix you should get it same as other AT&T atrix users. Its just internet, I don't think it checks geographical location of your IP address.
If you bought an Indian atrix then no idea
Yep am getting some OTA update today. This seems to take for ever even on my highspeed internet at home.

I'm having the same problem and I'm with Orange. You do have to get your phone unlocked unless you intend to get new Provider Firmware. Also I'm a noob so I'm a little uneasy about trying to unlock the Ace myself, I'd rather take it into the shop. Plus I'm told it has to be physically unlocked by USB. Paying for codes online does not work and in my case even the so called Temporary Unlocks do not work.
Have you figured out the letter codes? Maybe you could help me find an alternative Orange firmware? I'm running Gingerbread BVKQA.
Hope this helps

I just want standard samsung firmware none of this carrier rubbish.
I will still be using a tmobile sim in the phone?
so is the simlock such a big issue?

Funny thing, I have the exact same Ace from Orange. I rooted it, first went from 2.2 to 2.3.4 and now I updated it to 2.3.5. Looking for a custom rom to flash it with but I've never gotten that far with customization so I'm not too sure. Thinking of replacing the boot animation to the nexus one's. Looks pretty epic ;D

I think so... but I am just going by what other threads and other forums have said. I'm not sure it will brick it, but it won't be up to snuff that's for sure. I haven't been on XDA long but I've had some invaluable help from EmoBoiix3 along the way. It's a name worth searching. He wrote the Newbie Guide at the start of the Galaxy Ace forum. Seems to know his onions!

Same.
After umming and erring about it I finally snapped up the courage to root via Superoneclick. Downloaded Kies. Hooked up. And like yourself I went to 2.3.4 which is where I seem to be in a bit of a rut.
My phone is still network locked - haven't the balls to try unlocking myself - but that is my next priority in the next couple of days via the High Street Unlock Shops. Until then I cannot try out any fancy ROMs.
Also, dunno what the hell I've done to the phone but the infamous upd_1.zip no longer appears to work for rooting now!!!!
I'm curious, how did you get to 2.3.5? And is your phone unlocked?
Phone T Mobile and asked for unlock code, got it free!

I'm pretty sure it's unlocked now since the Orange animation thing is gone from the boot screen. I got 2.3.5 by updating through Odin from androidadvices.com. I'm not sure if that unlocks it though but I believe it is. It says you can't update with the phone locked to the carrier and I did it anyway and worked when I went from 2.2 to 2.3.4. Not sure if I just got lucky or something. You should give it a try.

Got mine unlocked today. Paid a nice man 15 dibs to take a weight off my shoulders and now I'm just about ready to flash. Happy Days!

SuperAce609 - Not sure how you managed it but well done. I'm thinking my next step should be to get new firmware. European KPH I think. Apparently it is compatible with most ROMs available to the Ace. Been advised to steer clear of Cyanogen though (pity!) as it isn't official or stable enough for Ace.

Yeah! And I was so exited to try it out too! I'm thinking of changing it to the Honeycomb theme but I'm not too sure. And since there isn't a version compatible with the 2.3.5 I have on, I can't do it . Besides, since I switch themes a lot, knowing my self, I'd probably be switching from rom to rom and that sounds like too much work xD

In a bizarre twist I went for the most recent firmware in the end. KPO. Now wishing I hadn't and gone for the KPH instead. Also rethinking Cyanogen. Seriously need to make up my mind!

Bell Mobile TV on RC2

Hey Developers!
So because of the upcoming Olympic Games and Bell Mobility offering content on their Mobile TV app, I really want to get this working.
Currently I am running the most current version of Cyanogenmod RC2 (released July 19th 2012)
I also have flashed the .mdm for Bell Mobility ICS.
Also edited the build.prop so pretty much everywhere it had said i717 I added the "M" for the Bell Mobility model i717M. Still not working.
Does someone know if this is maybe the wrong model number or maybe something else I can try? It just keeps coming up there is something wrong with the connection settings. I've been searching XDA and other forums for days with no luck...

I'm in the same boat friend. only other thing i have yet to try would be the ics stock bell kernel. however unsure if this would work cm9 rc2 and also dont have the kernel. waiting for a possible upload of this to try. Ive tried many different roms and none but bells stock gb or ics are the only roms that allow the mobile tv to work. Very confuzzled!

Yeah, I don't know where to get the Kernel or how to actually load that. I'm still pretty new, learning quite quick though. I do have a copy of the original ICS flash file from samfirmware. Is there a way to extract the original kernel from that?
I'm in this boat as well. Maybe I'll just load the stock firmware during the Olympics.

Still would be nice to get sooome assistance on this issue. cant always stay stock just bc of 1 app. again in the same boat, but i wanna play with some other customs than just stock ics rom. :good:

[Q] Second-hand Bell i9100m to stock

A friend of a friend was giving us a lift today, and she asked if we could turn on navigation on her phone since she was in the middle of driving. Her phone is a Galaxy S II, definitely i9100 and not the other variants (4.3" not 4.5", physical home button). She was running it on Telus but she bought it second-hand a few weeks ago so I assume it was a Bell or Virgin model.
Anyway I could see from afar that it was most definitely still running Gingerbread, and I wondered why it hadn't gotten the ICS update. I asked if I could see the phone and I went to the About screen - it's running 2.3.6, and the build number says Super ROM. Then I looked in her app drawer and saw Superuser. She is not the type who knows how to root a phone or would even want to, so the likely explanation is that the seller had installed a custom ROM and neglected to revert it before sale.
I've never owned an i9100... If she were to ask for help returning it to stock, would the simplest way just be to flash the Bell ICS ROM using Odin? Are there any precautions I'd need to take in case something the last owner had installed would be incompatible with the flash?

To be clear, she is a non power user. The ideal ROM for her is whatever would've been on there by now if it had never been hacked. So I believe that'd be ICS.

Just flash the ics of bell version since shes not a power user i did the same for wife shes has no intentions of using any custom roms for her just basic use
and i assume you know where too get that and yes flash in odin the stock version either from here you can get it or samfilmware ics version for 19100m
cheers
Thanks!
Actually I should add... The SuperROM she had on there said the device was i9100G. Is it possible that's just because it's what it says in the ROM, and it's still really an i9100m? Cause now I see they have different processors...

Hey. You better first make sure that the Galaxy S unlock tool isn't there, otherwise that's how the seller sim-unlocked the phone. Putting it on ics may lock it back up but you can unlock it again. If you move it to jellybean though, the unlock tool doesn't work yet. Ics is good enough for her.

Hey I'm also looking to update my phone and I'm sort of in the same situation as this girl. I bought my phone second hand and found out later that it was rooted and has CyanogenMod 7.1 on it. My model is the I9100 and my provider is Telus. I was looking to update it to CM10, but one of my concerns is that it might get locked again and I won't be able to use my phone on Telus. Should I just settle for CM9? Will it for sure get locked again? I'm a noob.

Presumably if it's genuinely an i9100G and not m (I'm not sure, as I only saw the phone once), it wasn't from a Canadian carrier. In which case who knows how it was unlocked.
