All of a sudden my galaxy tab can't power on. It works ok last time and power off successfully, but today when I try to open it, the splash screen just don't show up. I tried to enter recovery mode, but also failed.
When connect to the cable for battery charging, the screen is as the following, without any motion.

How long has it been since you powered it off? Some of these devices have safeties to prevent power up if it doesn't think it has the juice to boot all the way. How long have you had it on the charger?
I have seen this on my Tab.
When the battery was drained to 0%, and I started charging it. It's like it it need 1-2% before I can boot.
If you can't boot after having charged it for a while, I beleive either your charger is gone, or more likely the battery itself or something regaulating the charge.
Yes, I didn't charge it for a long time when this screen appears, will try and let you know.
WORKS!!! It return to normal after charging for a while. I suspect that for some reason it is not completely shut off last time, so the battery is drained to exhaust. I think Samsung should put this battery indication icon to their user manual to avoid confusion.

I am having trouble, the charging LED never turns green for me. It was plugged in overnight. I installed an app called "Battery Monitor Widget" and left it plugged in. The highest it reaches is 3801mAh out of 3840mAh. It was at this state for 2 hours, saying 99% charged. The tech specs say this is a 4000mAh phone, is that rounded from the 3840 the app tells me? or is something terribly wrong with my battery? Anyone else experiencing this?
also, if anyone can recommend a battery monitor app, I would appreciate it. I downloaded the first one I came across that gave actual numbers instead of a bar.
it finally made it to 3840mAh and turned green. It has been plugged in since my first post. Can anyone verify that their phones battery capacity is 3840mAh?
Yes, mine is the same.
I use juice defender ultimate, set cpu and juice plotter.
Works great for me.
I just installed the free JuiceDefender app and it appears to need root to work:

Thank you both. Ever since I left it plugged in for basically two days, it has been charging and turning green in what I consider a reasonable amount of time. I still think I have an underlying problem and expect to have a shortened batter life, but I also think I will upgrade to the next 7" from HTC before it causes frustration.
frh1: your added picture made me even more excited to own the flyer.
I think you're good. These batteries have to go through some charge cycles before the calibrated correctly. Some batteries will never see 100% after a few uses. Both of my Sammy 10.1's would say they were at 100 then as soon as you unplugged them they were down to 98. I thought there was something wrong with my view because it was taking a while to charge. My first view charged very quickly. I guess I didn't notice on the first one because i was playing with it so much, but after a few full drains and then charges it started charging faster. That's one of the things I like about the view, it charges fast.
Hey,
My cellphone is shutting down\restarting (when I'm turning on the phone the battery is on 1-2 percents) by himself while I'm using WiFi more than 2-3 minutes (with no charger, while the charger is connected everything is okay).
the problem appear a week ago, I tried to get back to stock and tried to format and wipe my phone.
I don't remember what I've done before the problem started, I guess I tried to improve my battery life (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15804148#post15804148) which is not really normal and I changed something with the voltage.
I tried to install other roms but still have the problem.
any suggestion?
A wild guess is that phone doesnt read the battery stats correctly.
Power off phone and straight the battery contacts from the back of the phone and also clean them up with an alcohol swap, then go cwm and delete battery stats, reboot and leave it drain, then full charge and check from there.
Be sure not to have a battery hungry rom on it so you do a correct estimation if the problem is gone.
What rom are you using? If its GB then its a thing that we all deal with on it. When my phone gets below 30% and I get a call I can't hang up it just reboots everytime. When its plugged in its all good. My dev is working on it but I guess its a hard fix.
Simply Honey 4.0 w/ 1.2 Bullet kernel. Badass Rom \m/
@peecs121: if you follw the link he posted the problem still persist even on stock jfd samsung rom so is not a rom issue.
I tried few roms, like: honeybee, bionix and the stock version
Btw - I have 2 battery and both of them with the same problem (I don't know why and when but they got swollen from some reason)
If they are swollen they are scrap. You just found out where your problem is.
I think you got fake batteries.
They looks like original, anyway - i will try to change to my friend battery and ill get back with an answer

I have the stock CM10 rom installed, and it usually does something like this that only lasts for a few days and goes back to normal. But this has lasted for almost a month now. As you can see in the pic, sometimes its says charging but doesn't "gain" energy, and when it does in drains extremely quickly. When it is asleep or turned off it still drains. I tried charging it with a different cord, then with my computer. Then I tried using a GS3 cord & adapter, it charged faster, but I couldn't tell how fast it drained since I wasn't using it.
Do I need to replace the battery? If I do, will it cost a lot, because if it does I'm just going to get a Note or DNA....
Try using a battery calibration app, people say to use it when you flash a new rom. Also, it might be an actual problem with the battery itself. Try getting a replacement battery if so. But then again, before you do that try going to stock and see if the problem is still present.

once it charges I'm going to see if that will help. and my son deleted my stock rom (long story), so I'm stuck on jb/ics.
Also its recommended after you calibrate to drain the battery to 0% and then recharge to 100% afterwards. And as far as the stock rom goes, you can restore using Odin and download mode

wow it worked, the battery lasted from 5:30 to 7:10, a new record since I ever brought the device

How much screen on time did you get?
Hi, I know there are already many threads about it but I think I have a slightly different problem: while charging the phone is always active (as if he was doing something in the background) resulting in an extended charge time.
First thought: there must be an active process (developers opts-> show cpu usage) and ... nothing
Second thought: maybe "dmesg" can tell me something more and...
...well, that seems something

The "adc" value of the battery significantly increases when connected to the wall charger, so even if the "adc_chg" value is high it is compensated by the high drain of the battery.
Am i wrong? Has someone any idea about the cause of the problem or about how to find it ?
Thanks (going mad, yet changed battery, charger and multiple USB flex ports )
You do know that our phone never deep sleeps when it is plugged? There is a specific wakelock for charging, which will keep the freq to 200mhz. As for battery drainage, nothing much can be done because our phone's charging capability is not advanced compared to newer phones and hence it is easy to drain the phone battery even when plugged. Doing simple things like closing all unused apps, keeping the screen off, turning off Bluetooth or WiFi may make the phone charge a little faster.

I did know it, it was stated somewhere in the previous threads. What I forgot to mention is that, actually, I'm talking of an s2 with Greenify activated, no third party background process admitted except Telegram & Whatsapp services but charging in offline mode, screen always off. And still says it will take 2h 45m when charging starting from 65%, math can be done for when starting from 1%.
Time ago it only took about 1h 45m to charge completely, so it seems strange.

I've installed dmitrypershin2015's MIUI EU 64 Bit on my phone (it work pretty decent but my phone back camera don't work after installing the rom but I don't care) then I installed Havoc OS 3.8 after this my flashlight won't work and my phone won't offline charge properly. The phone will charge when I turn it off but the screen will turn on and show something like this

What phone is this? This forum is specifically for Redmi 8a so that might be why your phone is messing up

First of all, this forum is for redmi 8a and that phone does not look like redmi 8a. But you might have turned ambient screen always on while charging. Maybe havocOs is not stable or there can be other problem like in charger. So try changing the rom or charger or usb cable.
