DId you do a factory reset after flashing the ROM?
Do you know how to use the search function?

I suggest:
Download the amss.mbn, dsp1.mbn, and recovery for the Froyo ROM you want to install.
Download the pkg file for the ROM you want to install, rename it to upgrade.pkg and put it in the root of your SD Card.
Flash the amss.mbn, dsp1.mbn and recovery files to your Streak using fastboot.
Boot into stock recovery and select option 2.
I know that some users have not flashed the amss.mbn and dsp1.mbn files before successfully reverting to Froyo from Gingerbread, and that if the flash of the upgrade.pkg file is successful these files will be flashed also. I just wonder if these files conflicting with the recovery (not matching versions) have something to do with the reports of problems reverting from GingerStreak to a Froyo build.
Theses are the steps I followed with no problems to get from GS 2.4.3 back to Stock 351. YMMV.

..
back to 351..
so.. can i install the gingerstreak 2.4.4 new release with 351 rom ? or i must install 360 rom and install the gs 2.4.4 ?

[Q] Help me About Downgrade frm 2.3.3 streakdroid5 to 2.2.2

Please help me how to downgrade from 2.3.3 to 2.2.2.
Please help me.
I am using dell streak 5
You have to be a little clearer... There is no gingerbread for the Streak except for StreakDroid 2.0, if you want to get back to a Froyo build, 2.2, all you have to do is flash StreakDroid 1.9.1 or 1.9.0.
Use the SEARCH and you can easily find out how this is done
I want to go to OFFICIAL 2.2.2 Version.
You can easily download the stock 351 update.pkg and stock recovery from the Dell Streak Wiki. Flash the stock recovery and then boot into recovery. Once in recovery choose option 2 to install the update.pkg which you have downloaded and put in the root of your external SD card. The recovery will see that update.pkg and begin to write it to your phone. You will probably have to do a factory reset to get it to boot

[Q] Baseband 347 to 351 Question

I got a new streak because my last one was acting up (warranty). The old one was rooted and had BB351. This new one came ATT Locked with BB347. Like a moron, i had the 351 Update.pkg on the sdcard and i tried updating via the new streak (holding down the power button and volumes buttons and selecting #2 update via sdcard).
now, no matter what i do, i get stuck at the logo. Any advice to just getting it back to normal?
you need to flash the 351 recovery img to use with the 351 install pkg, using the latest multirecovery flasher tool is the easiest way to do so, to save writing script. there are posts on how to do so in these forums

meaning can't directly upgrade 347 to 354? or upgrade to 351 first, then do another upgrade to 354? I got the same issue here...

If you are running 347 with stock 347 recovery you can try an OTA upgrade by downloading the 351 .pkg file direct to your phone and then tap on the DL notification in the notification tray. You should be on wifi to do this. You need a stock recovery to install the .pkg files. Checks are made to prevent installation of ROM from a different region. Since 347 and 351 are both 00 roms (retail unlocked) the upgrade from 347 to 351 may work. The advantage of this method is that you don't lose your settings and apps as you do when installing after booting into recovery and installing the package after it has been renamed to update.pkg.
You can't go directly (without using 354's recovery) from 351 to 354 because they are for different regions.

[Q] How to re-flash Stock ROM after installing Custom Rom (for example GingerStreak)?

Hi guys, I have tested installing GingerStreak 2.4.4 for my Streak 5.
But for some reasons, I would like to recover my device to 2.2.2 stock Rom.
(Stock Recovery Rom Files (.pkg, etc) are already got when I updated my Streak 5.)
Unfortunately, I haven't backup with Nandroid.
Then, how can I restore the device to the Rom as Stocked version?
Do not let your phone boot normally - when you use the fastboot reboot command make sure that you boot right into the recovery you just installed.
YMMV.
If you want to go to a custom Froyo rom install the stock rom it is based on, let your phone reboot and then install the custom rom.
Thanks a lot for your detailed suggestions.
Being different way from the way you suggested,
I had tried this way -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1206187
and I have success to re-flash Stock Rom to my S5.
However, your guide is not only very interesting but also be my study.
Thank you again, very much!

Recovery IMG , Update PKG

HI
I have read many of the Forums and seen Various Videos on how to install new ROMS onto the dell streak. There are dedicated members who contribute to these forums.i THANK THEM FOR THEIR TIME..I have a couple of questions ?
I have updated my streak from PKG 351 to 360 and this was straight forward and I did not need to change the recovery as I am from region 00
1.I followed all instructions and loaded Fastboot with Dell drivers but when I updated the recovery file there was no indication that this was carred out.
2.I know the next step is to update the PKG but I am not sure if the recovery was loaded.I looked at the information on the phone and its still E.U
3.I want to install Latest Olleh rom
Thanks
In recovery mode after you select "update from sd" it will show the version of the recovery.
You may try to flash over existing recovery even if its not 350, it will just fail. But it will no harm to your prone
Hi
I have used this as my guide
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=9694 ( I used XP before and could not get it to work.I am on windows 7 now and I got fastboot to work
Recovery IMG and PKG file is on SD card
1.Recovery file is run as and update Pakage ?
1. Verfy version of recovery - boot in recovery mode and choose "software update via update.pkg on sd card" (I've already flashed to 407 olleh, so I cant say what id got 350 recovery. You may ask someone who still got 350 recovery, or wrote it down)
2. If version is correct - flash.
Again - you may flash on any recovery, but success is guarantied only on 350.
Don't forget - YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA EXEPT FILES ON SD CARD AFTER UPGRADE
By the way that guide is exhaustive
Hi
My issue was that I downloaded the IMG but did not run it as update.
I am running on 407.I wll see how this ROM functions and it might be time to add some custom Roms ;-)
It was easier using Windows seven when using Fastboot.
Thanks

Trouble with update.pkg
I've tried 5 times to flash the 407 rom. I flashed the 350 recovery in fastboot. I put the 407 pkg on the root of my streak sd card, renamed it to update.pkg.Then booted into recovery and opted to apply update.pkg from sd. It says the update is applied, but just stays on Dell screen. The only thing I have done different from the guide is I havent been rebooting through fastboot, just pulling battery after recovery is flashed. Any ideas?

reboot via fastboot (fastboot reboot) and go directly into recovery by holding the volume up and volume down buttons.
If that doesn't work flash the 407 recovery instead, reboot using fastboot directly into recovery and install the update.pkg from there.
You mean the 407.pkg? I couldnt find the 407 recovery img
Marvin, thanks, apparently that last step(rebooting via fastboot and going directly to update was critical). I'm actually running Longhorn 2.1 v2 now and am liking it so far. I'll run it for a while.

Nope - I meant the recovery. You can find it here.

Glad you got it sorted. FYI - when you want to thank someone for a useful post click on the thanks button for that post.
Trying the 407 recovery now, the 350 didnt work even when rebooting via fastboot. Im sure the proper recovery is being flashed as they ended in 35014 and 40714 just before flashing update.pkg. Still on dell logo, going to wait 5 more minutes. Does my phone being rooted affect anything?
finally got there, probably took 20 attempts. Was going from custom gb rom via streakdroid recovery. flashed streakdroid 1.9.1,then recovery 350 and 407 update.pkg, then factory reset . I do have flashing lights , so going to try reflashing bb
Problems in update
I have downloaded 407 and moved to my sd. I have then reboot to update the pkg. But I might unable to download any recovery both 350 and 407. Says content is not supported by this phone. The I have version 355 version. Pls help
I have got a stock 2.2 ROM, so I decided to update the PKG and recovery using Fastboot. I did the recovery bit fine but it's taking its sweet old time with the update.pkg, is this normal?
Btw, I'm in the UK so I got the latest O2 version 319, build 12792 which matches what it says in the about phone section.
Could be because I'm updating with the same pkg that it's not got anything to update, if that makes sense!?
If so, how do I know I have streakmod installed then? Can I remove the pkg file from the SD Card and try accessing the boot menu then going to option 2?
EDIT- It hasn't updated because when I try and update it again when there is no pkg file on the SD card, I get a blue message from Dell Update Utilty or something.
When I did try to update it, I had left it running for 30 mins but there was simply a black screen. The guide from-
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=9694
says it should take around 10-15 minutes though, so is this normal?

Need help updating 1.6 to 2.3.3.

Just got brand new Streak 5 from dell.
It came with android 1.6.
I tried updating to 2.2.2 using dell update(website) but failed.
I tried updating straight to 2.3.3 (407 rom)
using different recoverys but failed.
tried original recovery, 350, 360, etc
I even tried installing CM and streakmod but get stock at after update from sd(black screen).
I've been trying and searching for answer for almost 5 hours.
So I'm guessing recovery and pkg file needs to match to update correctly
but can not find match(black screen)
Fastboot works fine on my computer.
Just tried 407 recovery file(region 14) with 407 pkg file and still getting black screen after update from sd

i get the same problem whenever i try to install .pkg. you just download the update.zip file from the below link provided by the manni. install the recovery of update 406 then flash the update.zip you downloaded, it should work.
