Disabling Hang Up Call Options - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey everyone! You know the Galaxy S2 has a hang-up menu after you are done with a call which gives you the option to message, call or video call the person you have just talked with. is there any way to disable this? I have searched everywhere for this and was wondering if it is possible to turn this off and go straight back to the home screen. I have provided a screenshot to further clarify. Thanks!

A factory reset wont take away root and wont wipe your internal-SD card so you dont need to pass it to your PC.It will only put your phone settings back to factory and hopefully get rid of the bug causing your problem. Also obviously wipes user data (accounts,contacts,e.t.c.)but not the SD card. When the phone reboots download titanium from the market again and dont forget to tick debugging mode again. Then you can restore. If your not sure how to restore in batch mode so as not to do it one app at a time let me know and ill tell you how

It a stock feature.Hard to get rid of it.Even custom ROMs have it.

you'd probably need to install adb on PC (general guides here or here or in lots of places), but this will work only if the "USB Debugging" is turned on in Setting>Applications>Development
- or -
check this: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/manage-your-files-from-recovery-with-aroma-file-manager/
i cant get the thing to factory reset, ive tried pressing the volume keys and then the power button but it just reboots and sticks on the username and pass any ideas? ive tried to ABD

Maybe try with the Aroma from my previous post - remove SD card from Note, and copy zip file to it using PC, then put it back, and try to restart in recovery mode, then follow installation instructions

XT910 SMS cause code 500

ok so my phone is factory unlocked unbranded. it works great as far as my internet mms, calls and even recieving text. it however will not send a text at all. my current provider doesnt offer this phone and cannot help me at all. when i send a text it automatically says message not sent and i go to details and it says cause code 500. now i have tried a factory reset, hard rest, and put all my info back in the phone. still wont send text. have turned phone off and on several times. my provider said i need to find how to get into the text settings where i can put in a text input number whatever that means. they tried to find it and couldnt but yet they showed me exactly where it is on my old samsung galaxy ace. oh and this razr is white and is android 2.3.5
please help as i cant find anything online to help me anywhere other than ppl saying they turned the phone off and back on and then it works. mine however does not work
please help. give me suggestions atleast. 158 views and no replies? im desperate here and cant find anything on this problem
Type in dialpad
*#*#4636#*#*
Press phone info
Scroll down till SMSC and press the right update button. You should get it populated with the service center of your carrier. If you get an error message then you have a bug in your system that cannot be fixed. The solution will be flashing another rom.

yeah when i went to all that my smsc was blank. typed in the number they told me and hit update and it tells me update error. so what do i really need to do to fix? how can i get the OTA ICS update? or should i get a cooked rom?
ok so i flashed the arctic rom and everything works except text still. going to the dialer and typing in *#*#4636#*#* will not pull anything up so i can go change the smsc setting. any other way to get into that info?
I cant help you much either, but I tried the *#*#4636#*#* and nothing came up to me.
But I`m pretty sure the smsc number follows your simcard, so I think there is something wrong with your simcard not your phone!
You need to flash a stock rom to get a new kernel. This is a system defect.

[Q] Phone is dead. Please help.

I have an E970 which I have loved over the past 16 months. Love it. It's not rooted or modded in any way, but I had it set up real nice.
I was at the hospital emergency room yesterday visiting someone and had some time to kill, so I updated some apps that needed updating. I did this over LTE, not hospital WIFI. I mention this because of what happened next.
Last night I started getting an error message when I attempted to get into the settings: "unfortunately settings has stopped." Everything else looked normal at this point.
Of course, the first thing I did was reboot and there was no change.
So, I did a little research and the suggestion was:
1) something you installed or updated last messed it up, try uninstalling the updates.
2) try putting the phone into safe mode and see if it works.
So I uninstalled the apps I had updated while at the hospital. Swiftkey keyboard, Chrome, Dolphin, the MyAT&T app (never used), and some others. About 12 in all. No dice, settings was still not working.
So after another reboot, I put the phone into safe mode (which I didn't know existed on Android). It took a long time to reboot into safe mode, much longer than a normal reboot. Settings was still not working. Same errror. Thats when things got worse.
Rebooted back out of safe mode. It still took a long time to reboot. Now not only does settings not work, but now the notification area on the top of the screen is gone, the notiication shade is now gone, and long pressing home does not bring up task manager. I am able to get into the settings for the home screen and the lock screen via the menu key. I cannot access sound settings or wifi or anything else in settings. I also lost my wallpaper. The LG launcher was still working as was the LG lock screen. All else looks fine, my MMS, contacts, email, etc.
This morning, I tried rebooting again. Now the phone won't boot past the white AT&T logo after the animation and sound plays.
I tried removing the sim and the sd card. No change. No boot.
What the hell happened to my phone and what should I do?
At this point I realize I'm probably going to lose everything in my phone memory, and I'm at peace with that. I had my photos and media all on my SD card, but my contacts and my text messages from the last 16 months are going to be gone.
I am not versed in rooting or recovery, though I am actually very technical. I would appreciate any assistance anyone could give. Thank you.

Two option that I can think are a factory reset and restoring with a program named lgnpst.
Factory reset would be simplest if it works, but will definitely wipe your phone.
Using lgnpst usually doesn't wipe the phone. Let me know how you want to proceed.

First of all, thank you very much for replying!
LGNPST doesn't wipe the phone? Well, I'm all for that if it works. Boy, I thought for sure I was 100% going to lose everything. Now at least maybe there is a tiny chance of not losing everything.
I had joined the lg-optimus-g irc and user autoprime directed me to the guide there. I downloaded and installed tSilenzio's Automated LGNPST already. I was going to use it to flash the stock rom, but I didn't do that yet. Is that what you need me to do with LGNPST, flash the stock rom or does LGNPST have other options? Please let me know, I'll wait for your reply, sir!

I would use the stock firmware posted by g33k3r, it is a zip that contains a tot file which you rename to .bin for use with lgnpst. If afterwards you want to try custom ROMs we can go from there.

It all started with problem updating prl and profile .. after contacting sprint they had me do ##72786# and it started the Hands Free Activation but it never completes.. I still have a fully functional phone everything works. Just very annoying the pop up every time phone is rebooted. I have odin the Nc5 tar several times also factory data reset and problem wont go away.. Sprint was little help. Just wondering if anyone had same issue and how to fix. The app that causes the Hands Free is Samsung DM Service.

Ok, sorry about that. Updating the PRL basically just resets your phone location in relation to the nearest cell towers. The profile is contacts and some basic settings with your gmail. What problem started after you updated them, before you entered the Sprint code? The only other thing I can think of is pull the battery for about 10 minutes, let the device completely power down. Meanwhile I will hunt through the boot up menu see if there is something there that needs to be reset.

BTW I don't have Samsung DM service, on my note 3. I have SprintDM.apk. here is a link with your same problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1973449 as you read through posts #3-8 it appears the easy fix is to let it run all the way through activation process, OR change apk name to SprintDM.bak ( appears the best way ), OR delete the SprintDM.apk. ( which might cause you to lose the ability to update your PRL and Profile ) Here is another link that seems to favor renaming the apk read post #4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2463534 OR it looks like you are on your way to Sprint Tech and they will reset the device.

I had an issue with my phone recently where Hands Free Activation never occurred upon booting my phone, so Sprintzone wasn't loaded and I had a persistent "Preparing Network" notification in my statusbar. Data still worked, but was inconsistent. After days of searching I found something that worked for me. First I had to get the MSL for my phone, then enter into a phone mode through the calculator app, and then choose an option to reset the phone with the MSL code. It totally wiped my phone, but upon booting Hands Free Activation ran to completion, and all was well again.
I downloaded the app from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53725729&postcount=91 to get my MSL
Then went through these steps to get everything working from this thread https://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/160050.
Not sure if this will fix your issue, but it worked for me. If you go through these steps make sure to backup all your important info.

You accessed that menu through the calculator app? Because I know when I tried it by typing in the dialer ##3282#, it gave me the same option, but didn't have the same result as entering those characters into the stock calculator app and then resetting from there with the MSL.

It will brick your phone, you cannot downgrade from KK 4.4.2 NC5, did you try this sprint post http://support.sprint.com/support/a...sungGalaxyNote3:ProgramYourSamsungGalaxyNote3 check it out?
I stand corrected, you can go back to NAB. I keep forgetting you can, just not any farther back because of KNOX. Thanks ( idone )

OK, lets try a different direction. My note 3 does not have a problem. On that assumption, something must have been changed in my copy of SprintDM.apk file when my phone completed activation, or it would keep trying to activate my device, make sense? Here is a link to a copy of my SprintDM.apk https://mega.co.nz/#!0JATFDCY!YHMzuWwwYswdv-WINQyjro2JErAFQDaTDr8MS1T3ifg Just download to your PC, and copy and paste to the internal sdcard, BUT FIRST use a root explorer type of file manager, copy and paste a copy of your original SprintDM.apk file to some place different than where you download my apk . In case this doesn't work you can always install the original file back.
Now using root explorer go to system/priv-app and delete your SprintDM.apk file, then copy and paste my Sprint.apk in its place. MAKE SURE you check permissions RW-R--R-- . Your almost done, now go to data scroll to delvik cache and delete it. OK power down your phone completely, wait a minute, WAIT FOR IT!!! Now reboot your device it will take a minute as Delvik cache has to rebuild its self.
Make sure checkbox for enable hfa is selected. This can cause it to fail as well.
Also you can go nc5 to nab. Just not back to mj4. There should be some threads about it somewhere, just not much reason to do so.

Thanks again idone. After all this time can it be this simple? Go to Galaxy Tools app (post #2) install, click on Samsung DM Manager, make sure Enable HFA is checked. (Mine is) then click on Restore via HFA. Power down the device completely, reboot, and let me know.

Did you try unchecking the HFA box, and powering the device down completely then reboot? Maybe that will stop it from trying to activate. If not did you try and replace the SprintDM.apk?

The first thing you have to do is to go to the app drawer and open an application called Samsung Retail.
Go to Configuration Settings and enter code 544 to unlock it. If this code do not work, try 5444
Uncheck Disable the factory reset and enter the following password to confirm it: M729Q16K8546..
Turn the phone off and press the volume up, power and home buttons at the same time to boot into recovery.
Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache.
Then reboot.
However if its an LDU then im pretty sure the antenna and sim card slot will have been removed.

Ok Sir but the problem is i cant open the device.. it has fingerprint password, i didnt know the password even the back up password. I tried to restore it by holding power button, volume up and camera but still it wont work since the factory reset was disabled by the retail mode.

Then i dont think theres anything you can do. You need the password. You can not bypass the lock
