I have created a clone of the ICS dialer built off of the stock Contacts.apk & Phone.apk in the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II (2.3.6) UCKK6. As you can see from the screen shot it looks very much like the ICS Dialer, a great compliment to your ICS launcher and Icons.
*Note* Your tabs will reflect your roms theme for tabs. You will however get the ICS tab icons and ICS Icon on every rom.
The file (v3.1) will work on the any 2.3.6 ROM for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II. It WILL NOT work on roms such as AOSP, CM7, or any ROM or Theme that has modified the Contacts.apk, Mms.apk, or framework. I am working on porting to other ROMs. If all fails, give it a shot and lmk if it works.
I am not responsible for any damage done to your device and you are responsible for the use of this file.
The files in this post are for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II ONLY!
I do not own the AT&T version therefore it is a bit harder for me to test some things, I do however have access to one for testing.

Thanks and enjoy! Many hours went into creating this and updates are planned.

*NOTICE* If you want to use this dialer in your rom, please give proper credit. This also pertains to using files inside my dialer to create your own version for another theme, rom, or device.
THANKS!
Looks great, but it doesn't work (with either method of installing; flashing or manually replacing it). It doesn't appear in the app drawer. So, I tested to see if another app could access it (e.g., messaging), and it couldn't. Messaging force closed upon attempting an action that required this apk. I went back and replaced it with my backup, my device (via a folder organizer notification), indicated that a new app was installed. It wasn't recognizing this apk. Hope you get it fixed. Looks amazing.
I think I have the wrong file or something went wrong compiling this one. Previous version worked great, I may need someone to test.

Cognition.
He is running stock rooted and from looking at the Cognition thread the contacts.apk or framework was probably edited therefore that is why it will not work. They modded their Mms.apk that's for sure.
Sorry about that. If you send me the Contacts.apk from Cognition Ill make a version for it.

Ok this is very strange. I literally had someone standing rite in front of me flash both versions and both worked.
If you could, please try the apk route by replacing the app in /system/app and let me know how that works out.
Is this the Theme?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302629
The thing about themes is you have to be careful because they sometimes mod the contacts.apk or mms.apk for the dialer etc and could also modify the framework in which this case it would not work. I am changing the OP to say only works with stock roms for now until i support others.
Thanks!

Been helping you out with this one ssconceptz and weird that this isn't working for anybody else! I have a rooted stock ROM and pushing the Contacts.apk to the /system/app directory made this work instantly! (I first backed up my original Contacts.apk.bak). Tried the flashable zip with CWM and it worked too! It looks suh-weet on my device! Thanks for this!

How about someone start porting that ICS theme over here ? Just swung by the Epic Touch forums and it looks booming compared to these parts in terms of themes (no offense to those that have done the great work here).

Talk to Overstew about it but I would wait until the Theme is further along and converted to more ICS stuff. It wouldn't be a hard port but it would need to be dedicated to stock or one rom.

Yea, when that SBF got posted it was just as I was starting to finish this one up. Made me sad haha.
I haven't looked into the current state of 1.4.2 but assuming someone has figured our how to root/deodex it, I will start porting this over ASAP. I am hoping it won't take me nearly as long to port it over as it took to build it the first time.

Rom:
Built directly from the kies download, comes with everything in the shipped firmware so you can choose what to keep. This is what I've been using as my daily driver so it's tested and fully operational. I haven't had any FC's and I've noticed good battery life and quick GPS locks. No modem included, make sure you grab the one you need from the bottom of this post.
Original build - closest thing to actual stock, now in second post!
Features:
Telus DTLLF4 Base, Stock.
Absolutely no ATT garbage! The phone, contacts, messaging and status bar are much cleaner in Canadian relase imo.
No hacks needed for Tethering!
Rooted - SuperSU app included.
Busyboxed, Deodexed, Zipaligned.
No boot sound.
h0tkernel R5s1 with System Tuner and BLN Included. Thank h0tw1r3.
ES File Explorer, and Titanium Backup included.
Quick Boot included for easier recovery access.
S-Note, Nova launcher + other apps now included.
Conversions for Rogers and Bell users, now with Carrier apps.
Google and included apps all updated.
Fully Bloated, so you can keep what you want!
I've only removed 2 things related to system updates, as any updates will be coming from me :fingers-crossed:
Link:
i717-DTLLF4-CustomCanadian-B2
Conversions:
What are they? For Bell and Rogers users, turn my Telus base into the Rogers/Bell equivalent. These zips include the build.prop from the Rogers/Bell builds, the CSC files for network/carrier specific settings and now you can get them with the Carrier apps as well. These are the only thing that differentiate the Canadian ICS versions. Now you wont have to wonder if a Rogers/Bell base could somehow be better. I recommend installing right after installing my rom.
Bell Conversion
Bell Conversion and Apps
Rogers Conversion
Rogers Conversion and Apps
Instructions:
Copy I717D-TLLF4-BASE.zip, modem and optional Bell/Rogers conversion to your sdcard
Restart in recovery
Wipe data/factory reset
Install I717DTLLF4-BASE.zip
Install optional Bell/Rogers conversion
Install modem
Done!
Tips:
Turn off notifications in SuperSU
Use Nova Launcher as your default and in Nova Settings/Look and Feel, set scroll speed and animation speed to "Faster than light." For some added sex appeal set Icon Theme to "Jelly Bean"
My Story available through S choice.
Optional Mods:
LF4 Custom Canadian 4-way Power Menu Freshly baked and fully supported, copy to sdcard flash in recovery
These mods should work, if they don't work for you I wont be supporting them. Just reflash my Rom and leave as is. When flashing any mods make sure you let the rom boot once before you do, don't flash immediately after install of rom.
Electron73's 15 toggle Mod tested and working! however changes some things in the status bar to their uglier ATT counterpart.
paleh0rse's Galaxy S3 phMOD
If you use their mods, don't forget to thank them!
Will test more and add to the list or let me know what works for you and i'll add them to the op.
Modems:
I have extracted the modems from all the Canadian ICS firmwares directly from the kies downloads and made them into a cwm flashable zip for you guys since there doesn't seem to be any floating around. All tested by me and working.

Nice! This is definitely different (ICS with Google Now). Just curious, how essential is Launcher 7? I'm guessing not at all, but I'm curious. I'm enjoying CM7 currently, but this is highly tempting.

Noo it's not required at all. But consider trying it out you might like it! :good:
Also, in case any of you are wondering why the base isn't JellyBean... I had been using JB ever since release and went back to ICS one day and had completely forgotten how smooth and easy on the battery it is. I figured as long as i could get some of the main features of JB (Google Now) working it might be worth it to revert back to ICS until our JB matures a bit more and/or we get those missing components from Moto.

Looks nice, I like the blue color.
what's modded in the launcher 7..? I had already bought the launcher 7 donate for an older phone. If I install it, will i have to extract the apk and modify it?

As of right now the only thing modded are the default 1x1 and 1x2 icons used for tiles, but this will change shortly. You can achieve the same result with the paid version of launcher7 by downloading the icon pack i linked to in the Addons section of the op. The only irritating part about this is you will need to use a program like Quickpic and set its background color to white to actually 'see' what you are selecting when changing a tiles icon due to them being black.
I have to host the rom elsewhere, my links went down. Hmm not sure where would be good though.. Sorry for the inconvenience to those wanting to try the ROM. I'll be reuploading later today and may have a ROM update too if all goes well.
Double post woops.

No [Launcher 7 is] not required at all.

Nope, not wondering at all! Your reasoning makes a lot of sense.
And I don't need to consider trying Launcher 7; I have in the past. I do like it, but it's not for me. Launcher 7, and WP7 in general, I feel, is not very app-centric at all. It's for people who use their phone for phone stuff and have maybe a couple apps. I have 51 apps installed (in Google Play) and I use probably a dozen at least weekly (if not more). I feel like L7/WP7 are more minimalist than I need. But I do like the idea. I actually like a semi-minimalist appearance on my phone; apps are grouped in folders, and aligned to the bottom of the screen, with widgets at the top. But I have access to a lot of apps in a short distance from any given point. That said, I do like seeing you base the presentation of your ROM around a launcher that doesn't resemble AOSP. It's a fairly unique approach. And that's the mentality I like to see in devs. It's thinking outside the box, as it were.
Links are back up. Will be updating the ROM soon.
::UPDATE::
Version 1.1 is released.

You flashed version 1.1? Within the aroma installer did you choose to do a full wipe? Did you choose gsm or cdma? Did it appear to install correctly or hang at a specific part? What recovery version are you running? I use joker v3, haven't tested it with anything else. Did the dual core screen begin to make little waves as if trying to boot? I'll see if I can get you sorted out.
:EDIT:
Thinking it was a bad upload I downloaded the rom and flashed. Within aroma I selected full wipe, cdma, and installed it. Booted up just fine for me.

+1. I have the same problem, my phone doesn't like aroma... I can hardly install any roms with this installer... Have no problems with regular flashing... I'm on cm7 but was trying to switch to cannon...

I've been thinking of ditching the aroma installer too actually. I will make the next version without aroma. Again though, can you give me any more details? Does the aroma installer actually go all the way through and seem to install fine? What options did you pick? What recovery youre using?
Her are the modded files for TABLET, PHABLET and PHONE UI with FLOATING WINDOWS for Verizon Note 2.Created by the one and only Xperiacle For Verizon i605 devices with 4.1.2 VRAMC3 based roms.So gps and mms among everything else work flawless because this is not made from international firmware...Its made from Verizon 4.1.2 firmware. When flashing, please use a rooted stock 4.12 VRAMC3 de-odexed rom with busybox for now without any deep or heavy modifications just to make sure it is working and is not conflicting with any mods/themes or anything. So tablet starts at 147 to 213 dpi, phablet at 214 to 220 dpi, and from 221 to 320 is phone ui. Just follow instructions in Xperiacle's N7100 thread. Install an alternative launcher in case TW crashes and another keyboard as well. The files are modded with unlimited multiwindow apps. For issues and fixes, just follow Xperiacle's N7100 thread or any of the roms his mod. Use the included app (UI Switcher)to switch from one UI to another. Don't use build.prop editor to change density or hide/show navigation keys as there are permission files that needs to be set for the mod to work. Just use my UI Switcher app (included in the zip).
I hope you know what you are doing and have experience with flashing roms and so and so. Good luck.
Xperiacle did this for me as a favor So all Credit is to this Amazing developer and please consider donating to him if you like this
This is based of off our Verizon 4.1.2 firmware .... NOT INTERNATIONAL firmware...... soo MMS and everything is fully functional.
This MOD goes hand and hand with xposed app settings. Soo I suggest you find the UI you like, change you app layouts where you want them and then stick with it.
INSTRUCTIONS:Insatll xposed framework and app settings module. Install a alternate launcher or multi dpi Touchwiz launcher and the note 8 or alternate browser (instuctions on installing multi dpi touch wiz and note 8 browser below, stock browser doesnt play well with multiwindow).Change keyboard to swype or google(Stock samsung keyboard will force close). Boot into recovery. Wipe cache and dalvik cahe. Then flash zip file
MulTi UI MOD Download Updated 7/17: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23050663588004163
After first boot launch xposed app settings and change the screen dp for settings.apk to 480x854 so it doesnt FC in tablet or phablet. If multi dpi touch wiz launcher FC's just clear app data and force stop. Also if any layout of any stock samsung app is goofy in tablet or phablet...like contacts, messaging, clock,calendar,etc.. change dpi with xposed to 320 wich is our stock dpi and you can mess with screen dp to your taste.
I would aslo consider using Note8 or 10.1 apps or multi DPI TW apps if you want tablet versions.
Changelog: 29 June 2013

Anyway you will lose the beans menu part for the special tweaks...Dialer/MMS stayed AOSP look and the status bar had the stock deodexed look with the wifi nag in drop down...Everything works though...just a heads up ...I would suggest flashing stock beans if y'all want tablet and use of Xposed/App settings....

This is built using the Samsung GT-P5210 P5210UEUAMI8 [4.2.2] Jelly Bean base.
This is not debloated it's fat and sassy like Samsung intended it.
If you would like to debloat I highly recommend using DutchDanny's debloater which can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482582
Jelly Bean P5210UEUAMI8
Fully Deodexed
Rooted
BusyBox
Zipaligned
Extended Power Menu (Wanam Xposed)
Will Not Delete Internal SD
This doesn't have much for bells and whistles but I have included Xposed framewok - Wanam Xposed and Pie Control. If you just want bone stock all the additions can deleted easily with App Manager.
To used Xposed framework and Wanam Xposed do as follows.
After booting the first time go to Exposed Installer App- click the - Framework tab - click install/update.
Next hit back button - select the Modules Tab - check Wanam Xposed module – reboot.
Once it reboots you can go to the Wanam app and choose the options you like. Not all will work on the tab because many features are phone related. Clock location – Color – Circle Battery do work also the the extended boot menu which includes recovery works too. After making your choices you will need to reboot for them to take effect. There are many more modules you can experiment with just be sure to make a Nardroid backup first because all aren't compatible.
Please go to the links below for more detail and be sure to thank them.

I've Been thinkin about something.
IF This is an original Rom only deodexed and some xposed stuff. Nothing else removed. Why dosent This Rom recognize My router when i have it on chanel 13. But IT finds it on chanel 5? Stock Rom recognized it with chanel 13..
And The other thing is The autobrightnes. My stock Rom had a bar with -1,2,3,4,5 and +1,2,3,4,5 when auto was enabled. But This One have only manual or auto nothing else.
Is there a way to get those back?
Other than that, Good Work with The Rom!

I used Samsung's original file for this build which came from http://samsung-updates.com/. Been using my wifes tab to test with and this was the current version she had after it updated. You are right there are some slight differences from the file I used and the automatic update version. I'll take a look at the two and see what i can do.
Anybody out there still with this device? I just got mine today and was curious if anyone has heard anything about the newest OTA update. Mine came out of the box with MI8 and is trying to upgrade with wifi on. I'm weary of this, because I own an att galaxy s4 that was one of the lucky ones to root before the locked bootloader OTA upgrade. From what I understand this device doesn't have a locked bootloader so I should be ok to upgrade? I plan on rooting to be able to use root apps and I'm a huge fan of xposed and wanam, I just want to make sure all of the hardware works before voiding my warranty. Any insight is much appreciated! TIA

Not a ton of choices and developer love for this device -- probably due to the x86 architecture. Too bad because it is a very nice device. That all said, this ROM works great.
I'm pretty sure my wife's 10.1 upgraded beyond MI8 and I ended up flashing this ROM anyway mainly because it is deodexed.
I followed this guide for root and recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432467
Only thing to beware of:
uncheck the reboot option in odin and just hard power down...
Also, to me, it seems like vol up and down are reversed from what I expected to get into recovery. If you get into donwload mode, just try the other volume up button
Finally, there is a script in this forum for decrapping but it seems to mess up the galary. I ended up jet deleting .apk's for stuff I didn't want.
Good luck! -- Bud
Anyone know where to get the rooted MJ3 firmware after flashing the debloat from above thread it blew the gallery away no sammy script killed it.
If anyone has a way to get back please let me know i installed this rom and its working but i like to go to latest firmware and more stock.
Thanks in advance
Hi !
how to flash this ?
Via Odin or Recovery ?
It will great if somebody can post images or videos about this rom running. I really really don't like TouchWiz on my Tab 3 but I cannot find any other rom only this but I would like to know who it works and how to flash it.
Thanks!
Agreed, Touch Wiz Sucks
You don't have to use this ROM though just to 'change' the Launcher (Home Screen)
I use Smart Launcher after trying nearly every other 'Launcher' I could find..
Now I cant live without it..
A must have !

But its not the same thing. TouchWiz its not only a launcher, it include services and apps who make Android works not excellente like the vanilla android. That's why is better for me to flash a custom rom. But apreciate your suggeston.
