First ,I would like to apologise if I'm starting a thread similar with others on this category but I hope for the best to find a different solution in my country.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Vibrant got it from a friend who bought it from TMobile . It had 2.1 eclair installed and I changed it with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169800&highlight=Malice using rom manager premium and installed it from my sd card . Everything was ok till the baterry went off and I had to charge it and switch it on .I had an error with a screen full of different points and colors till the Samsung Galaxy S logo appeared on . since that time I couldn't go to recovery, reboot mode anymore .The baterry was draining very fast so stupid rookie me tried to do it again with a 2.2.1 froyo SGH - T959 version . Odin was fine firmware update started but at the end it said failed .I took the usb cable out since nothing was happening for about 10 min and I tried to switch it on but it remained black . I cannot get into download with 3 button combo neither by pulling out the battery and connect the cable . I am not in US right now so I'm trying to find a solution close to my city and I cannot find anybody specialized to fix this kind of problems . I will appreciate your help as good as it gets !
You will need to have the phone's board JTAG repaired with re-written bootloaders. I can do this but I'm in the US. PM me if you run out of local options but be advised that if fallen into the wrong hands, the board can be damaged beyond the point of repair.
I think I've bricked my Galaxy S II.. I got it yesterday and tried to flash 2.3.5. When I was flashing with Odin, the program went unresponsive and crashed. There was nothing else to do but take out the battery.. I shouldn't have done it, but I did. And now it won't turn on at all. I've tried the 3 button method, for download mode, and a jig from my old i9000. Nothing has worked. The screen wont even turn on. I don't know what to do... Help Please??
you need a jtag.If it wont go into download or recovery its gone.
What do you, Jtag? I've got a usb jig, does that work? Or are they the same thing?
*What do you mean
aren't jigs phone-specific?
Any new info on this? Did jtag worked or whatever. I keep eye on this thread but looks like OP disappeared. Genuinely curious what happened with the phone.
Hmm .. very wierd that phone wont turn on ... i have broken Odin flashes purposedly many times myself but always I can get back into it ...
You could try power drain ... remove battery ... press power on button for 10 seconds (WITHOUT BATTERY IN) ... now put battery back in and try to go into Download mode.
Sorry but i got busy with other stuff but wanted to explain to him about the JTag.Its a special box called a RiffBox JTag and what it does is basically wipes the motherboard/bootloader and in most phones repears the bootloader aswell of a fully bricked phone so it can be put into download mode again letting you re-flash via Odin and thus saving your phone.A little miracle that means no more bricked phones. There doesnt seem to be that many around and to buy they aint cheap at all but if you can find a dealer or a phone shop who has one they can do it for you.For example.I bicked my phone and was going to buy the box on ebay.es imported (in spain there isnt any for sale) for 160euros complete or 140 without cables.Searched this site:
http://www.jtagbox.com/riff-jtag-bo...s-unbrick-bricked-phone-riff-box-owners-list/
and found a shop in Barcelona who did it for me for 35euros plus postage "BARGIN!!!!".If you search youtube and google for RiffboxJtag in your country you should find someone with a unit willing to help out or check the link ive given as it has a list of users worldwide.
EDIT:A jig is not a JTag.A jig will boot your SEMI-BRICKED(phone showing some kind of life ex.classic icon of phone/arrow/computor,menu and back arrow lights work e.t.c.) phone into download mode.A FULLY-BRICKED(dead,no signs of life.wont start.no download, recovery, lights nothing.DEAD!!!) phone needs a JTag
@cooza , Thanks for that explanation and site I even found one near me, that some day might come handy.
I must ask now to further clear my doubts, this riffjtag box, like you said is able to "revive" or "unbrick" _any_ bricked SGS2? No matter how bad is it? Im kinda new around these things and trying to suck up as much info/knowledge possible, before I decide to flash/root/?brick? xD haha ( hope not for last one) my phone.

Hi.As i said before there are semi and hard bricked phones.A semi bricked phone can normally be booted into download mode with the 3 button combo or a jig and your away again. It has the usuall symbol of a phone and a PC with a warning sign in the middle of them.Hard bricked is when the bootloader is damaged and there is basically no return. You got yourself a very expensive paper-weight for the office desk. Its like trying to turn on your phone with no battery in it.Dead, gone and not coming back. Before the Riffbox the only solution was the rubbish bin or maybe change the motherboard(but a few years ago that was an extremely pricey task if possible). Now we have the box.You can screw you phone to the point of no return and still the box will bring it back to life as it wipes the motherboard and in the case of the SGS2 also repears the damaged bootloader which is what boots your phone to start with. One thing to know, and i dont know if it happens to everyone but mine came back with 2.3.3 installed but there was no recovery mode.If this happens all you have to do is re-flash via Odin a more reciente firmware WITHOUT PIT FILE and yourll get recovery mode back at reboot.Obviously youll need to plug in your phone before hand to re-install the drivers.Same with Odin.boot to download, plug in,installs, unplug, then open Odin and flash.
EDIT:yourve got my name there so if something ever happens and you need a hand to re-flash after a jtag just send me a private message. Here to help.

Thank you mate! I am getting my SGS2 this week so ive been doing alot of reading and research about everything. Thanks for your contribution and kind offer to help if ever comes to that. Very appreciated.
No worries mate.truth is its very hard to fully hard-brick an i9100.The main thing to watch out for,and its a mistake that first-time users/flashers have done,is to flash there i9100 phones with i9000 firmware by mistake. An SGS is not an SGS2 and if they are mixed you WILL hard-brick your device. Here on XDA everything is clearly marked and on their right pages so you cant go wrong if you take your time dont rush-in.But just in case you havnt seen it heres the thread:

Hi, dont bother faffing with it mate, if you have only had it a day take it back and tell them it wouldnt boot after an automatic Kies update. If they cant turn it on they wont know you bricked it until it gets back to the factory and to be honest after selling 10 million of these babies they wont even bother checking it out, they'll just put it into spares or straight recondition it.
I did the same thing to my xoom, PC world couldnt turn it on so they just gave me another.
Hi guys, i'm not a experienced samsung user, i have my S3 like a month ago, bought it in Portugal, i guees it's the international version because it was factory unlocked.
It had stock OS, with lot of apps installed, no root, no custom rom, yesterday I tried un update pending in Samsung Kies (didn´t write the version, dont know if theres a log in Samsung Kies where i can retrieve that version and post here), i made my backup, updated, all day worked ok, i remember answer somebody in Whatsapp and left to charge, today i found it's dead.
I searched and can't access to download mode, recovery mode, i plug to charge and no led, nothing, i just bought online a Micro Usb Jig to try it out.
I downloaded Odin but apparently i have to be in download mode so it appears as Checked, but i cant do a thing with the phone, right now im trying to download the Android SDK to test via cmd if appears as a phone connected at least, but i plug and unplug it in my laptop and not even the usb sounds.
I read about the update that kills S2, but i searched a lot and i dont see the first one with his S3 dead, appreciate any tip, idea, comment you can give to confirm what i dont want to confirm.

pull out the battery and leave it out for 30-60 min. Then put battery back in and boot..
If that doesn't work then take it back to the store and tell them after kies update it did NOT boot
Good luck
Edit:do not use the jig before u have been to the store
Hi guys, just to confirm my battery was ok, my phone is not, completely dead (What we call in spanish Muerte Subita, i guess is Sudden Death in english), i'm sending it to Portugal for warranty, wth, now just wait...

Dear Forum members i am new to this forum please help me to boot up my Phone :
After rooting using odin i have installed custom rom all working fine later tried to install another using odin selected .PIT file & re partition was checked in the middle Odin stopped responding disconnected the phone & phone stopped as attached image later battery empty. Now its completely dead no light no logo no boot sign tried to enter download mode, recovery mode, connecting to pc using kies, Odin nothing working.
Please help me to get the phone back to working
Thanks in advance
Unfortunately because you played around with the PIT file unless advised means that your phone is bricked.
Since you cannot get into any mode at all, the only method that might work to fix your phone is a Jtag device.

Thanks for quick reply. can you please tell me where Jtag is available in India people who do it?
Thanks in advance.
For the first time i used forum and its really helpfull.
If he's still getting the screen that he posted in his first post, then it does NOT mean it is bricked beyond repair. In fact, you should be able to flash using Odin while that screen is up.
I've only ever seen people get that screen when they either flashed an I9100G ROM or firmware to an I9100, or the reverse. (flashed an I9100 ROM or firmware to an I9100G)
OP, I'd make absolutely sure you are flashing a ROM or firmware that is meant for your model of device.

Oh. Well, if it's completely dead now, and no longer shows that screen, than Cosmic Blue's statement is probably true. JTag it is.
Use Google to try to find a repair shop near you that offers this service. If you can't find one close to you, you'll probably have to mail it off to a shop that does it.

Customer service may not know but if you talk to the technician he will know but may not want to do it as they will not make as much money as replacing the motherboard.
If you check the service manual that are posted on in this forum. one of the steps before replAcing the motherboard is using jig then jtag before you replace MB.
I need some help, a few days ago y flashed SlimSaber on my phone, everything was ok until this morning, when i woke up the phone was off, when i truned on it got stuck on the samsung logo screen, then i tried to start it in Download mode, connected to the pc opened ODIN and tried to flash a stock rom, for some reason the phone got disconected in the middle of that, after that i tried again and this time it finished but said FAIL then i unplugged the phone tried to restart it but nothing happened now i can´t even get to download mode the phone is just there i can't turn it on and i don't know what to do, i need help plz
If the phone won't boot at all, what exactly do you expect anyone here to suggest ? No Christmas miracle.
Service centre for motherboard replacement (expensive option) or source 2nd hand board from 'donor' phone (search online) & either replace yourself or pay a local mobile repair shop to do it (cheaper option).

Try to use JIG, but you don't assure you nothing. The assistance will find out for sure that you have installed a cooked ROM and you will pay a lot for a simple replacement. And then I advise you to follow the many guides available online to disassemble and reassemble the pieces of the Galaxy S2. Let me know
thanks for the help but at this point I think i'll buy another celphone I'm thinking on the galaxy grand or the galaxy win
