is it possable to upgrade the memeory from 8 gig to 16 or 32 in the radar ?
has anyone taken the back cover off yet ?
It's glued toghether. You have to put it into oven to get it taken apart and later glue that thing back together. Yeah, thanks unibody design. Plus im not shure it uses microsd.
That stinks
Microsoft should change the min Spec's to 16 gig
who wants a phone with only 8 gig ? come on

Radar is more of an entry level phone for Mango. 8 is usable.
As of now, I know its NAND not microSD so no upgrade of whatsover is possible.

Yes, you heard me right, we shall not be ashame or be discourage by other phones who has 8GB or 16GB storage, cause now, I show the world that we, the TOUCH PRO owner, can rejoice for joy and have surpass and become superior to the storage showdown. I represent you and the WORLD FIRST 32GB CLASS 4 Cell phone dubbed, the SPRINT PCS TOUCH PRO.
uhhh... lol. what the hell did you do to that poor thing?
thats ugly but pretty sweet, talk about hot swapping. how did you do it?
Good old fashioned modding there
I guess im the only one that sweat, what happens then?
cool. Nice work, now take the original plastic cover and re-mold it so the chip is inside the plastic cover.
lol Frankenstein Touch!
i throw ya some peanuts...
tvos
I bet an extended battery cover could keep it all together (when sprint releases it at least)

considering that he postd the EXACT same topic in the www.ppcgeeks.com forum...
everybody there remains stumped as well....
Interesting but I think I'll wait for the 32gb MicroSD card to come out within the next couple months!
Well done!
You've managed to even do it without duct tape!
Now try putting a bigger screen on it, that should be funny looking

I don't know what planet you're living on, but it took manufacturers nearly a year from the time they started rolling out 8GB microSDs to start producing 16GB microSDs. So more than likely, you will start seeing 32GB microSDs at the end of 2009 and as late as 2010 for bigger retail chains (like BestBuy).
Not to mention the fact that because of this ridiculously long interim period, I've actually had just about every capacity of card, 16MB (CF), 32MB (CF), 256MB (CF), 1GB (SD), 2GB (miniSD), 4GB (miniSD), 8GB (microSD), and soon the 16GB (microSD), because I can't bear waiting for the 32GB.
So assuming something like this was used:
http://aptolink.com/product_info.php?products_id=41&osCsid=44e3d010e4effdff2f210c8dfa98d1f1
Wouldent there still be something sticking out of the device on the other side?
I guess I always though that if something like this was that easy to do, third pary manufactures would be offering up adapters / back plates
http://asukal.net/blog/?p=284
this looks like something that could have been used... just take it out of the casing.. i'd be interested in this if there was an extended battery cover.

I don't know about easy, but Craves1 over at Internet Tablet Talk designed a SD->MiniSD adapter / back plate combo for the ITT and had them made, so I am thinking it is probably more of a lack of will or companies thinking there is no market?
I got 2 nook tablet offers, one 8 gig for 8, one 16 gig for 105, what's the better deal? I just want to install android and read kindle books and light browsing, no major work.
I'd go for the 16 GB. It's not just the storage that's different, it's RAM memory as well.

Owner doesn't know the version he bought, how can I tell if it's the 8 or 16 gig version by looking at the box?
He wants 70 bucks for it.
please help
I bought a pantech element for 160 but if the nook is better I'll take it back.
I don't have my box any more, so I don't know where info is. Probably on a label at the back, if it's not clearly stated on the front.

crap!!
What do you think about the pantech element? I know it's not popular but you think I should return in and get this guy's nook tablet?
I don't know anything about the Pantech, but looking at specs it looks good to me. I like the actual look of it as well.

Hi all!
I am a new HAM2 L03 owner, I purchased the phone used on eBay, but I've seen something curious, the internal memory is displaying as it was 8 gb, but this phone is supposed to have 16 gb internal memory, can you guys help me with this issue?
I'm attaching a screen shot of the internal memory.
There was an 8Gb model sold at WalMart for a short period of time. This is probably one of those. I can tell you it cannot be updated to Lollipop, yet. Check your eBay auction and see if it was advertised as 16Gb. It is actually most likely the reason it was sold off. Sorry for the bad news.

Thank you for this information, this is surely bad news for me ! Besides internal memory is there any other difference with the 16 gb one?
Thank you!

I was under the impression that it was the exact same as the 16 gb and the only difference was the 8 gb storage. Not sure, though, as I don't have the 8 Gb.
Thank you two for your help! according to one image on the link that xordos provided, the Mate 2 Slim has a 3740 mAh battery compared to the regular 3900 / 4100 mAh battery that the HAM2 has, I think it's not a very big difference. I've been using the cellphone since thrusday and I coulndn't be happier, I don't think I can go back to another cellphone that wouldn't provide at least the same battery life and doesn't have the same screen size. I payed $120 USD for it, so I won't complain to the seller (I think this is a good price) if someone is reading this and has doubts about the slim version, my opinion is if you get a really good price, go for it!!!
Curious. How much room does that leave you for apps? If you find its not enough. Root plus link2sd app works great.

If I recall correctly, it is 1.9 gb usable for apps. I will need to use link2sd!
128 or 512?
What exactly do you mean? Both are available but I suppose the 128GB version is much more widely used due to the 200$ surcharge for the 512GB version.

As I tried to point out, I suppose the majority will most probably have the 128 GB model because the 512 GB costs 200$ more and offers no real added value because who needs 512 GB of storage on a phone?
Additionally the 512 GB version wasn't in stock at first/released later I think
For better understanding and communication I recommend www.deepl.com/translator it's really good at translating meaningful and contextually aware.
i opted to get the 512GB. i knew 128 gigs wasn't going to be enough for me. unfortunately i destroyed my screen while out to eat and am waiting on getting it repaired.
Mine is 128gb.
Last phone was s7 with 128 memory, and the whole 2 years I had it, it didn't reach 100 gb mark, so i think more than 128 for me is overkill.
I would suggest just using a flash drive and otg it

Is it that fragile?
128GB
128GB for me too, don't think I'll need more than that. I'll just store stuff off on the cloud if I do need more later on. Or maybe get that dock that has the SD card attachment.

honestly i dont know. the drop punched a circle through my glass screen protector and completely shattered and destroyed what i assume to be my digitizer. and the nearest asus repair center is three states away from where i am in the USA
Everything I do on the phone is mainly streamed or stored in the cloud I just went for the 128gb version as the only things taking up a little space are the handful of games. Always been fine with the 128gb iPhones and iPads so never needed more.
Stuck on the fence between the two options. Storage space isn't as compelling to me as I already have an SD card for expanded storage.
What's everyone's thoughts? Worth the extra cost for 33% more RAM?
Save your $
with the price drops at best buy it was only 30 dollars difference so I opted to return the 128gb model and get the 256.
The biggest issue on an external memory is: to slow, not all things can moved on the SD Card. Internal less memory let lost the fun of the tablet. Thats my experience of the last years. About this one I move to the 256G part

you need to buy cards marked U3, not U1 that guarantees minimum 30MB/s(240mbps) write speed. That's what I buy for shooting 4k 60ps drone footage which tops 120mbps. They are still not as fast as internal storage, but for movies and other data files they are great.
The card is only the half way. You can used the fastest card of the World, if the interface to the card id slow. The tranferrate to and from the SDCard ist one of the negative point of the galaxy tab S7 in the technical reviews (Could be better for this device)
You can compare this with a SSD on a SATA2 .The SSD could be faster , but the tx/rx rate from the hardware is not faster and brake the performance
abso-smurfly worth the cost if you do heavy video or into multitasking and using DEX. if you do lite email and occasional gaming, its not worth it. but im a power user and the extra 100 dollars was pocket change for me to gain that extra ram.

well running benchmark U1 vs U3 I'm getting 90/70MBs(u3) vs 70/40MBs(u1). Which is close to the quoted max rate on the card. Now that's nothing compared to internal storage which I'm guessing is true SSD which tests out at nearly 1GBs, which definitely makes the extra 128gb + 2 GB of RAM a great deal for 30 dollars.
Still the U3 card is a solid performance boost.
Thanks everyone for the input, appreciate it.
Considering the price difference isn't that much, I decided to go big.
One thing I'm a bit bummed about is that the 256GB model only has one color option - I realize it's just cosmetic but I would have liked the mystic silver option. I'm just limited to the black option.

Hm, what area of the world are you ordering from? Here in the US, the 256 GB model is available in silver. I have one, and it's also showing as available in Samsung's store.
In Germany the 256G version are in black, silver and bronze available
After a week, I'm glad I went with the upgrade. Ended up paying 700 even for the 7+ and got 50$ GC on the side and the speed of the internal storage is amazing. Add to that the extra RAM. I like Black
If you're asking about RAM - don't worry. 6 GB is plenty on the tablet. I was worried at first too but after having 6 tabs open on Chrome, YouTube vanced in picture-in-picture mode, and Microsoft Word open - there were no delays or lag. Ymmv, but I don't have any issues.
That being said, if the difference in price is about 30-50$ I'd consider it. The added RAM makes it more future proof and if you don't need a MicroSD card with the added base storage, then you come out on top since the external storage just isn't as fast.
