I, I have bought "the adventures of TinTin" from Gameloft for 6€ on my HTC Flyer when it came out.
The game loads 800MByte of data, so there is no chance, that you can test and return the game within 15 minutes, if you dont like it or if it doesn't work.
On my Flyer unfortunatelly the game doesnt run. I launch it, get a license check, and then it is over. The game exists.
I tried to contact Gameloft, but I got no reply from this company!
So this money is just thrown out of the window. Support is non existant.
Did you purchase it through Gameloft or the market? If its on the market, you could probably appeal a refund due to it not working, if its through Gameloft... good luck... worst customer service of any company ive dealt with before.
Through the market. Hm, I still can get a refund you think? How can this work out through the market?
Google Market is not dealing with refunds. Gameloft is not accepting refunds. But they might offer another compatible game if you ask nicely. http://www.gameloft.com/index.php?platform=gameloft§ion=home
bought it as well, gameloft support has sent me a few diff versions to try. still no luck.
This used to work when I was on gb but now just exits on HC

Making this thread about emulator apps and roms. What apps run well for you and what's your favorite roms for each?
You can ignore the following---
I'm jealous of my brother who has the Samsung Captivate because he got one of my favorite games, DOOM. I can't find it with my Eris even after running the market fix. I've tried just googling Doom.apk, but all it returns is the paid version that requires you to download the game files through the apk. And obviously since I didn't pay for it, it's not going to let me download the game files. My brother has the one that's free, about 5mb in size and made zhibin niu. I gave the developer my email and he sent me a link, but it only directs me to the market where it says it can't be found. If anyone knows where I can get a download of this, that would be great.
It can't be found on the market because the game doesn't support Eris phones. I doubt the eris could even run DOOM. It doesn't have the cpu or gpu power. Sorry bro.
That's probably true. I just wanted to be able to actually try it out and get confirmation so I can either stop searching for it or play the crap out of it.
You could always download the SNES emulator app and get the Doom rom for the Super Nintendo and play it that way.
Holy crap, can't believe that didn't occur to me. I actually have the SNES emulator and am downloading now. Much thanks!
Not a problem. The 4-5 dollars I spent on the Super Nintendo Emulator was the best money I have spent for my Eris.
update*
It plays, just obviously slow. Figures

Cool. Any suggestions on what games run well?
I play the Final Fantasy series. Which emulator are you using? I am using SNESoid. I have the roms for every SNES game ever released in the US, so I'll try out Doom later on in the next few days and let you know if I have any better luck and if I had to change any options.
I'm a very avid SNES fan. I still have my original SNES that I bought the third day it came out, and no plans to ever get rid of it, nor any of my games.

I'm with you. I still got mine, and it's still hooked up to my samsung lcd in the living room. I play it on occasion when I get nostalgic.
Any suggestions for which sites have good (non-corrupted) downloads?
Seems like every site I try is just a loop back to the same crappy webpage that I'm getting really tired of seeing.
I've been using ROM Grabber from the market and everything has been working fine. Not sure of any actual websites.

Just google SNES roms. cool roms, dope roms, and romnation have good roms. I believe that they have been forced to take some games down though, like the Mario series. You can still find roms in the torrent world though. I believe there is a torrent that has the entire SNES collection.
By the way, if your Eris breaks on you, tell Verizon that you will switch to Sprint if they send you another 1. They will send you a Droid 2, but you have to buy the battery, the back, and the charger. But the 3 of them only cost 61, so it well worth it.
First off let me start by acknowledging that this may be in the wrong section.
For those who do not follow android central or some other android news site, ea is have a sale on a few games. Now i know this has been discussed before but i haven't seen it brought up here. The issue of ea products not carrying over in the market when flashing new rom or anything it seems that replaces the org market apk. I ask here just incase the market being bundled with the roms here (comrom specifically) is special somehow.
So the short version for those that haven't heard.
day 1 purchased ea nfs
day 2 played ea nfs
day 3 flashed new rom
day 4 you must repurchase ea nfs
Is this just bad design on ea products to which one must stay away from no matter how good the deal ?
I thought I was the only one. A few days after I got my Fascinate, I bought NFS. After sometime(and I believe after I flashed a new Rom), NFS didn't show up as purchased anymore. :/
Bow chika wah wah
Hm, I have heard of this issue. Wonder if buying, then backing up with Titanium Backup, or using Root Explorer to copy the .apk to your SD card would work, I imagine so.
I've been using the same nfs shift TiBackup from when it was .99 cents in december. And after many odins and Tibkup restores it still works fine.
good day.
think i still have a ti backup of it somewhere, maybe. Have done many "fresh starts" that included wiped out old or unused apps. While i could just pirate it, the truth is that if it is so badly written that such a round about method is needed to play it. Screw it. Guess im just picky like that. If it comes back to the market showing i own it then ill reconsider.
Oh DirgeExtinction love the sig, RvB freaking rocks

not that i know of...
Haha SALE means Dirty in french language i know why they complaining about it now!
So I've had my Prime for a while now. Got it from GameStop, and of course it game pre-loaded with some games. However, it is obvious GameStop sideloaded those games because although the Google Market, sorry, I mean the Google Play Store will tell me some of the games need updates, it won't let me install such updates. The error is typically that when trying to update they realized I didn't own those games.
I had emailed GameStop about this some time back. Their response was simply that nothing could be done.
I tried emailing one of the developers, for Shadowgun, and to date they haven't bothered to respond to me.
This is irritating to me. My games are stuck in time because GameStop won't provide updates, and the Market/Play Store won't let me update cause it thinks they aren't valid copies. Is there ANYTHING I can do here to get these apps updated legally?
Thanks,
K.
Hm, doesn't sound very good bro, if GameStop themselves refuse to do something against it, I don't think anyone else will care. Sorry to say that, but I think there's not a big chance for you to get your updates.
However, there are still two steps I would think of:
1. Have you written to Google and described your problem to them already?
2. If you really are keen on those updates, you could look for a guide to remove those games, uninstall the Play Store updates and buy them a second time (as they are marked as "Paid" up to now, aren't they?). As I said, I don't think that's an option for ya, but, who knows...?
Yeah, trying not to have to repurchase...but I figured that is the only way I can do this...hence why I posted. Was hoping there might be a way.
I suppose emailing Google might be worth a shot, but my gut tells me they'll just say its up to GameStop since they put the games on the tablet. AKA: you installed from outside our market, not our problem. I could be wrong though.

I'd just like to post this to share my experience with the Gameloft support team. In the past I've read posts in which users complained about Gameloft's support, to the point which some users claimed it un-existent! However here's my take. I purchased Gangstar Rio: City of Saints for my Xperia S from the Play Store, after installing it I received an error saying that it was not comatible with my device. All I did was go back to the store and email them. Within a day of having filed my issue I received a response in which they apologised and gave me an alternate link to the game. Unfortunately the game stll did not work, I simply contacted them again and they replied within a day. They apologised again and said that they could not identify the issue but to compensate offered me a game of my choice from their store free of charge. This all took less than 2 days which in my opinion is extremely responsive. All I'm trying to say is if you have a problem just contact them, their support is really amazing and judging from previous posts has improved a lot! Well this was just my experience, feel free to share yours
when i tried contacting them, they replied once asking for my phone number, then sent me a barrage of push notifications trying to force my phone to start the WRONG game (not even the game that was faulty), and since then i've had no reply from them, despite trying to contact them again. at no point did they offer me a refund, or try and get my game working. never buying gameloft again.
