Ideal screen protector - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

I bought one of these for my wife's iPad. I contacted them about possible plans for the Transformer and they don't plan to make one. Has anyone seen something similar to this for the transformer? This is the best screen protector that I've seen anywhere.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004UQ05N2

Boy, that sure would be nice! One good thing about the ipad is MEGA accessories. The Transformer, we have to be patient.

That is truly an amazing screen protector. You guys gotta see it in action. YouTube iVisor. They literally just drop it on the tablet and it adheres with not one bubble. Incredible! We need this for the TF.

Best capacitive stylus?

I've been researching on amazon, YouTube and etc for a good stylus for my future prime. Since I never purchase a stylus before and have no clue which to get can you guys recommend me a good one? From personal experience...
Jot Pro and iFaraday
I myself have done ton of research and it came down to those 2.
Jot Pro if you want take notes and want to be very accurate.

Take a look at this video of the Jot:

iFaraday if you want to draw and multipurpose.

Thanks i'm interested in the iFaraday but it seems like they aren't taking any order till the 19th. Which one have you tired diesel?
I just received my Jot Pro yesterday and so far I am liking it a lot more than any other stylus on the market (and I have tried quite a few). Very accurate, and feels great in your hand.
My only grip is that I wish it had a clip to 1) keep it from rolling off the table if you forget to "dock" it with the magnet, and 2) so it could better sit/clip to a shirt pocket.
Aside from that minor annoyance, it is a quality stylus.

I don't have them yet but I have tried them from my buddy I have to say if you combine the Jot with the iFaraday then you have the perfect stylus.
I'm planning on buying both.
The Jot for super accurate writing/drawing and the iFaraday for multipurpose, browsing, etc.

Thanks Joe, you are doing an awesome job updating the master list - Thanks!
So I ordered a Jot Pro earlier today...one question, can one have their hands/palms on the screen while writing? Like you would when writing on real paper? Thank you....
I got a three pack of cheap ones on eBay for. 89 cents plus free shipping. Will review when I get it.

I really hope you can. If so then I'll be ordering a jot pro too.
I feel like this would have to be written specifically into whatever app you're writing on-- ignoring the first thing if multiple touches are registered or something along those lines.

^^^true, I've been looking at note taking apps and haven't seen any that would do such...I've seen reviews for these styli and their hands are suspended....how long can one write like that? I plan to do some serious note taking with this thing, like hour long meetings...the OG transformer has a note taking app thats pretty good right?
I would like ot have this functionality, but am worried about the multi touch thing. On this I think I will wait for a few reviews of the note taking before I grab a stylus. Someone who has a stylus, or more specifically the Jot, put up a review on how it works with the Prime please once you get it.

I have read an article that said that palm canceling was baked into ICS along with other stylus features, some of which will require hardware.
I hope it ends up working like it does when using a digitizer.....how I wish the prime had digitizer hardware! Per pixel accuracy and no palm/hand issues, along with erasing.

I would be careful with those. Friend got a cheap capacitive stylus for his phone, and it's sticking to the screen. I bought a fancier one (kingston I think), and while I have my complaints, it glides MUCH better on the screen.
I am looking into Jot Pro, since I am not a very big fan of "eraser writing tip"
Writepad has palm rejection. Also for other apps - hide your palm in your sleeve so it doesn't register as touch.

I understand there are some gloves you can use as well.
I ordered the Jot Pro today. Hopefully from what I am hearing from reviews, that I will really like this one. I bought some cheaper ones in the past and was not happy with their accuracy and the thickness of the tips.

I'd cancel your Boxwave order and get the jot pro. Yes it can be noisier, but it writes 100x better. SMOOOTH and accurate. Seriously, there is no comparison between the two.
Does anyone have the Jot or Jot Pro stylus, and if so, have you had any issues with scratches on the screen or diminished accuracy after a few weeks of use.
Is there any metal that protrudes from the plastic disc that could scratch the screen?
I have seen several comments in other places where people have said the Jot stylus has scratched their display (Amazon has a commentor that has posted a photo of the scratches caused). And I have read that the accuracy is not as good after a few weeks use.
I have done some research and contacted the manufacturer (which replied very quickly). The explanation seems to be that dirt on the screen can cause the scratches and that the plastic tip can get loose/worn out. Apparently there may have been some defective tips early on.
*****
This is an excerpt from my email to Adonit:
I really want to buy a Jot Pro but I am apprehensive to spend $30 if it is
going to scratch my screen, or if it is not going to work as well after a
couple weeks of use. These issues seem to be common in review comments I
have read online.
I read one review comment that said there is "a metal protrusion in the
center of the disk. It’s very noticeable." I thought the disk was plastic.
If there is a metal protrusion I can see how it could scratch the screen...
Have these issues been resolved since the Jot and Jot Pro were first
introduced? If so, what has been done to resolve the problem?
I have a tablet with gorrilla glass (Asus Transformer Prime) on order, but
even with gorilla glass, I don't want to chance scratching up my brand new
tablet.
Please advise. Thanks!
*****
And this is their reply:
We have tested our product extensively, and the precision disk has proven to be very safe, even after prolonged use.
However, a sharp piece of sand or grit pressed very firmly between the Jot disc and the screen will probably scratch it, so take care to maintain a clean iPad screen. If the screen is not clear of debris, it will become scratched with the use of any stylus, or even just your finger.
We don't want you to worry, so if you think it will be a problem for you, we highly recommend that you use a screen protector to protect your screen from environmental dust and grit. Please be aware that Jot does not work well with the following screen protectors, due to their extra grip surface.
* Zagg Glossy Invisible Shield (but Smudge-Proof Invisible Shield works well)
* Ghost Armor
* Bodyguardz
* Skinomi
* Wrapsol
Glossy protectors are the least compatible with the Jot. We suggest looking at the Power Support Anti-Glare screen protector; we've heard that it works brilliantly with the Jot.
We are here if you have any further questions.
*****
Anyway, I thought the info in Adonit's reply would be useful regarding screen protectors, etc and I really would love to hear from Jot or Jot Pro owners regarding their experiences with it.

Second Shells Prime and Dock Case

I came across this case today that seems to look pretty good but I have never heard of the company selling it before. Anyone ever ordered from Second Shells before?
Here is what I was looking at ($33.95):
http://secondshells.com/tablet-brands/asus/asus-eee-pad-transformer-prime-tf201-keyboard-case-and-cover-storm-grey.html
UPDATE: I have contacted them for better pics and to see if they offer this in black instead of the grey that they have listed. I will update this again once they reply.
Ugh, why more leather!
eww i thought these were shells like how the mac book's shells are. just snap on, and you are protected
I like it. At least they lost does bulk compared to some others and there is not any leather in between the dock and tablet joint. Simple, and elegant
I recently odered a case from www.secondshells.com I got it remotely fast and for a great deal. It was a great buy and I highly recommend them

(UK) Help Choosing Accessories for Asus EEE Pad

I recently purchased a Asus EEE Pad and a waiting for it to be delivered.
I want to try and purchase accessories for it before it comes so I can use it sooner.
The Asus eee pad will be used at home but also when travelling (within the UK) when I go to visit family. I will probably need a screen protector and a case for it, but I'm not sure how many screen protectors I should order at first and how long they will last.
I have also ordered the tablet for a member of my family who will use it mostly at home. Should I get a case and screen protector for this as well?
What other accessories will I need or are useful?
I have checked eBay for screen protectors but there aren't any reviews to go with them and the ones on Amazon UK are expensive. Please provide links of what you've found best for your tablet.
Zagg's Invisishield or Invisible Shield is hands-down the best screen protector made, in my opinion. The bad is that it's an absolute bear to install.
In the US, most BestBuy locations still have them in stock for the TF101, *and* they'll install it for free (HIGHLY recommended!) . Check with your UK equivalent.

I use mine without a screen protector. The screen seems solid enough that I'm not nervous that anything will happen to it (at least nothing a screen protector will save).
I have this case: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006X0ZYQ6 and an invisible shield which I am happy with.
although if i was looking for a new screen protector I would see if I could find a finger print resistant one as everything I own gets covered in greace marks and it winds me up abit.
edit: here are some pictures of the case with and without the dock, the main reason I chose the case was because it would hold the tablet with and without the dock. the quality of the pics aren't that great

I wonder if anyone here has one sub-£20. The case looks great but I'm trying to find something a little cheaper as I need to buy 2.

iPad style front cover

Hiya guys,
I was thinking of buying a TF101 after my sister showed me her iPad and I became really jealous! Only thing I liked the look of though was her smart cover.
I was wondering of there is anything like that for the TF101, the only important stuff is is has to be thin and act as kickstand.
I saw the sikai cases and they look good but the material colours don't quite seem to go well with the tablet and the folding stand doesn't seem to click in a triangle to stop it flying about.
Ideally I liked the look of the TranSleeve for the prime. Is there an equivalent for the TF101 because I don't want the dock and only bothered about keeping the screen safe, I'm not too bothered about the back!
Your opinions will be very welcome and thanks guys!

I know what you mean, I like the apple ipad 2 style case. I never found one exactly like that, but this one is is the best case I've seen so far:
http://www.amazon.com/rooCASE-Leath...ndroid/dp/B005B2K1I8/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
It's a roocase. I bought this and love it.
@Apollostees Thanks for your reply.
I didn't think I was going to find anything like the iPad's but it was worth a try! I saw something similar for the Galaxy Tab but I hate the look of TouchWiz. Instead I'll just go for the Archos G9 because it's pretty cheap and has a kickstand. I'll buy a proper tab when I find one I like the look of - unless of course I cave in and get an iPad!
I think Apple has a patent on the magnetic front cover.
Micro Fiber Asus Transformer Slim Case.
I recently came across this micro-fiber Asus Transformer Slim Case and am still considering buying it. I like the fact that it will protect my tablet and the fact that it offers many different angles to display the screen. http://secondshells.com/tablet-bran...nd-infinite-adjustable-stand-pearl-white.html
Hope this helps.

Case for tablet only

I' looking for a case which helps the tablet stand up but without a magnetic button to close it.
I feel eventually the magnet will move as it has done with my phone case which is really nice but doesn't snap close anymore. It probably won't happen so soon with the tablet but I prefer a non-magnetic closed case. Found one on Amazon UK but it's £20 and looking for something cheaper.
Asus has a nice (for a while) slim casethat uses velcro on back under a flap to hold it but its 40 dollars and after about 3 months it gets loose but holds in the tab... not bad other than that (ive been using it since january)
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
I believe the RooCase Ultra Slim does not have a magnet... maybe someone who owns one can verify that?
Thanks for the replies.
I have looked at many threads on here but they don't have an update of what the case is like months after so the Asus one could be an option. I'd prefer under £20 though but I am open to suggestions.
Oh please, don't get the Asus one. It is overpriced and quality is bad. Only suckers buy it.
Get something like this http://www.amazon.com/BLUREX-Leathe...Y8VA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334325561&sr=8-1
It is slim and provides adequate protection.
I have this one http://www.amazon.com/Acase-Transformer-Leather-10-1-Inch-Android/dp/B005D1Q6J0/ref=pd_cp_pc_3
Had it for about 2-3 months now and no problems at all. I actually wanted to buy the Blurex case but that wasn't in stock back then.
I recently purchased this Asus Transformer Rotating case with built in multi angle stand from amazon http://www.amazon.com/Asus-Transfor...ZK/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1334338068&sr=8-11 Case works great and is very stylish.
Thank you for your posts. Can't seem to locate those on Amazon UK.

good to know but I don't trust spending 30+ for an item that only has 2 reviews...i don't need a stylus and i'm sure i can find a combo deal or separate deal on screen protectors. thanks though.
My link is for a $12 case that has 120 reviews and almost all are 3+ star reviews and it has combo deals for stylus and/or screen protectors too.
My Roocase does use a magnetic closure.
Here's a dirty cheap ($5) case. Even has an offer for a free stylus:
http://www.amazon.com/YooMee-Transf...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1338196764&sr=1-17
Also has a $7.50 version similar to the earlier case but without the free stylus:
http://www.amazon.com/YooMee-Transf...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1338196985&sr=1-23
Saw this over in the Kindle forum where they mentioned a case with the same style as my first here but when I saw the company also offered Transformer cases thought I'd post here.

I had one of the cases from Amazon with the hard plastic lock. I didn't like that there was no way to access the charge port while it was closed and the speakers were on the bottom while playing music/video using the stand in landscape. I put my transformer in upside down and the lock bent the charge port.
I tried a few other cases, but the one I've liked the most so far has been from Newegg market: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0U008T4548
While in portrait view it doesn't stand terribly well as the grooves are a tad shallow. The closure for it is an elastic band, but I hardly use it.
