[Q] Market "My Apps" 'no connection' error - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

hi there. one of my very few apps-related questions in the forum...
just recently Market "My Apps" tab returns a 'no connection' error constantly.
this also affects downloading any free app from the main Market tab.
I am in China and market access is restricted here anyway, but in the past I could get the free apps available, could update my previously installed apps, and with "paid apps enabler" and VPN i could access the US-market.
however, now recently, market does not let me access "my apps" at all. and i can't install or update apps
does anybody have a clue why this is? did China suddenly block it? did Gmail put new security measures in place to ban updates in China?
i already wiped and re-setup the device, but problem persisted
thanks
EDIT:
wiped it completely and did not restore apps from Titanium.
I think restoring Titanium backed-up apps with data was the culprit....

Weird thing happened after using cooked ROM

So anyways,
I was using dsixda's kitchen to cook VillainROM 5.4 (add & remove a few things here and there).
Wiped data and dalvik prior to flashing and then flashed the ROM which went fine. Upon first boot, phone stuck and white-green htc logo so I took out the battery and rebooted and then it booted fine. Added my gmail account in the setup wizard, connected & synced.
Now this is where weird begins. Somehow, official Facebook app apeared in my app list, and Market was only showing free apps, and it should show all apps. So I went to check /data/app folder and sitting there is com.android.vending.apk. New Market apk that somehow magicaly appeared out of thin air. Also, my Market download list shows all my previously installed apps and among those, Facebook as already installed and with an update available. WTF!?
Can anyone explain to me what just happened? This didn't happen with untouched VillainROM 5.4.
Market is linked with Google account, so could be that?

Sure, but I've never seen Market app auto update itself. What's up with that? It essentially blocks me from having all apps in market.
Okay, I found out what was the problem.
It seems that there's an update to Market app to version 1.713 which silently installs without user approval.
To anyone having trouble with this new version blocking access to paid apps, go to Manage Applications -> Market and select "Uninstall update". After that, remove MarketUpdater.apk from /system/app folder (pull it before doing it, in case something weird happens)

Titanium Backup restore = no market links

i'm having problems with restored apps not showing up in market. i was told to use settings to fix the market links, but it's not working. when i select user apps or user & system apps, the window goes away and the links still aren't there. how do i fix this? will i still get update notifications for apps that aren't listed in market?
edit: it wasn't working because the phone was USB connected. my apps were linked properly after disconnecting. HMM.

[Q] Google Play 'My Apps' Issue

Quik Question
I've noticed that the 'Update me' app is installed, but not listed under the 'My Apps' area, therefore, when an update is pushed, it won't notify me under My apps.
I have a few apps like this.
Market doctor in Tb, has linked them to the market, but they still don't show.
Anyone any ideas?

If wiping cache (and Dalvik cache) in recovery mode does not help ...
Try to uninstall and then re-install the app.
Another suggestion is to do a factory reset and restore all apps with Titanium Backup.
Good luck !

[Q] x10 mini (not rooted) with Android 2.1 will not update market or any apps

I'm using a Sony Ericsson X10 mini (not rooted) that still suffices quite ok. However, after a while it tends to become slow. What I periodically do to make the device again a bit faster is reinstall the original firmware using Sony PC Companion. This re-installs the latest available firmware for the X10 mini, being 2.1-update1 (kernel version 2.1.1.A.0.6).
The last time I reinstalled the firmware I ran into an issue. After the installation I got to work installing a few apps. I noticed that all the apps that I install keep showing up in the market as "Installing", even though they are already installed and working properly. Switching the device off and on doesn't help. Also clearing the cache of Android Market did not resolve this. All these apps remain showing as "installing" in the market app.
I also noticed that the version of Android Market that I currently have is not the version of Android Market that I had before reinstalling the firmware. As far as I know, Google Play is not available on Android 2.1, but I definitely remember that I had a newer version of Android Market installed on Android 2.1 than the one that is installed now. From previous re-installations I remember that the device at some point would mention that Android Market needs to be updated. The same goes for some of the pre-installed apps such as Facebook and Google Maps. However, this time it does not give such a message at all. Opening Android Market also does not trigger any update at all. Also going into the settings and looking for updates does not trigger any update. Is there any way to force android to update the market and the pre-installed apps?
When I open Android Market and look in the "Downloads" section, it shows a list of all the apps that I had installed on the device previously. When I check play.google.com on my PC, it lists the same apps, but they show as "installed" on my phone. Even though I have not installed them yet. And I cannot find any way to remove these apps from the "My Apps" section on play.google.com. Could this be interfering with the android market app on my phone?
Is there any way to trigger Android to update the Android market and the other pre-installed apps? I'm very hesitant to go and root the device, that still appears to me as a lot of work. Especially since I know that it used to work correctly previously.
A small update in case somebody in the future encounters the same problem:
To find out whether it really is my Google account that interferes, I have opened a completely new Gmail account, and used that when setting up the phone after the firmware re-installation. And lo and behold: within a few minutes after the initial setup of the phone, the market application was suddenly replaced with version 2.3.6. No notification whatsoever, it was just suddenly there. I don't know the version number of the old Market app that I had. Somehow, the version numbering that is used in the application manager is different than the "2.3.6" formatting. The version number that is shown in settings>application manager went from 2002009. to 2002306.
Having the updated Market app, I wanted to relink the phone with my normal Gmail account. However, I found that apparently, you can only sync with a different Gmail account by resetting the entire phone, so that I have the original problem again. But at least the fact that the Market app updated itself allowed me to copy the updated market .apk file so that I could manually update the market after reinstalling the firmware. And having installed the new Market app, it also recognized the pre-installed aps such as Google Maps.
It should have been possible to delete your new gmail account in th settings app and add your old one. Failing that, doing a factory reset would have deleted all the user-data but still have kept the updated market-app.

Before you noticed the apps installed, had you installed any other apps from google play or from apk files?
I've had apps in past that showed ads and when i tried to click out of them they auto installed other apps in background.
Just out of curiosity, have you tried uninstalling them? and if yes did they come back?
And I maybe wrong on this but I think google play checks the apps on it's store for virus's, so see if the apps you mentioned are on the play store, if they are not, then it being downloaded from another source.
If thats the case, you really need to backtrack to when you first noticed them and what you had installed up to 3 or more days before you noticed them.
its not from playstore, its from a diffrent source, i uninstalled infoprovided before and return after a few days
and i found the culprit, its the FWupgradeprovider, it can install or update app without the users consent, but my device is not rooted so i cant remove it. maybe there is another way to remove it?
