Hi all
Is there any app which can save my setting?
I mean the app can create many profiles and each profile have different setting.
For examle: Silent mode with all sound was disable. Out door mode with my custome ring phone. And Office mode with ring phone was disale but notify sound still setting on.
So that I can switch to one of these profile easily?
I don't know any app, try searching on the market if you insist on an application.
Cyanogenmod offers native profiles for sound though.
After looked around the market I found the awsome app: profiles setting. Really what I need :lol

Hi guys,
Is there a faster way to pull up the volume levels of the phone without going settings -> audio -> and then selecting it.
I want to be able to change text message sounds, etc at night when it gets quieter. thanks

Silent mode widget toggle? It'd take up a 1x1 spot on your homescreen and would allow you to quickly change profiles. I use one I created from Widgetsoid, but any of them on the market should work.
Audio manager is a free app that lets you adjust the volume of every mode independently. Gives you a nice widget too.

hmm ill look around but wouldnt that make everything completely silent? i just want to turn it down
I have the pro version and you can adjust everyting as loud or quiet as you want. I assume the free version does as well. Download it and see. If it's not what you want, uninstall it.
Guys, I don't see this one posted anywhere so I'm throwing it out there if anyone could help.
I have certain contacts I want them to ring when the phone is in silent mode. I've tried out apps like Llama, Auto Ring, Phoneweaver, Profile Scheduler etc...all have some sort of VIP contacts feature enabled, some even have the ability to force ringtone using the app if the phone doesn't support ringtone in silent mode. But I can't get them to work on S2, I checked "force app to play ringtone" option where available but only Auto Ring was able to squeeze out 1 ring before it got silenced, Llama and others simply refuse to ring at all.
I've been doing some search online and found a few people having same problem with their S2, but others seem to do just fine.
I prefer to use Llama due to its host of functions in a lean package and small battery footprint, but I can't use it if this important feature does not work. See my phone specs (including apps installed) below, appreciate your thoughts on this.

If this is for emergency calls during a time when you're at work or something, I would just put your ringtone to Silent and same with your notifications, while only those select Contacts have a specific ringtone.
Also some other apps that come to mind that you might want to try:
Selective Silence
Silent Timer Lite <-May not work
Where's My Droid
I use Tasker. A bit pricey, bit it will automate anything on your phone. The feature you mention is available as a walkthrough here:
http://tasker.wikidot.com/alwaysringonimportantcontact
I modified it slightly, but I'm using it right now so "favorite" contacts always ring regardless of silent mode.

If I'm not mistaken, the default DND mode is set to Alarm Only. Once you change to a different mode, the next time you enable DND it will default to the last selected mode.
On Xperias, you can enable DND by VOL DOWN or quick settings. The system will give you a choice of modes and duration time.
There's also an option to set DND automatically via rules, which can be found in sound settings.
This is all I know regarding DND.
I want to use a widget on the home screen to quickly toggle sound modes: Normal, Vibrate, Silent. There are many apps on the Play store which can do so.
However, after Lollipop, Silent mode is actually Priority Mode, and in Marshmallow it's Do Not Disturb.
The problem is, toggling to DND via the widget seemingly always defaults to Alarm Only regardless of the last selected mode described above.
My question: Is there any way to change the default mode for DND so that the widget can toggle to DND Priority Only mode instead of Alarm Only mode?
My phone is rooted, so I'm open to root methods of achieving the desired result if necessary.
If it requires an app to control, are there any that exists which can do what I want?
Thanks!
I have a Moto Z2 Play with Nougat 7.1.1
I jumped directly from Kitkat (Cyanogen OS which my old phone had and which I never updated as it was very buggy update to Lollipop and I wanted for MM which never came) to Nougat when I bought the Z2 Play. It's mostly a positive change except for the notification settings. I know it's been discussed at length how Google messed up the notification settings on Lollipop and the trend has continued in Nougat too.
So now to my issue with it. I have currently set ringtones at full volume and Notifications on silent by selecting default notification ringtone as "None" as I don't want to hear a chime on every notification that comes through as most of my notifications are News feeds. Whenever l recieve a notification my phone vibrates so I assume there's no setting to customize Silent/Vibrate by default for all notifications and also individual app unless the app itself has implemented it in its settings like Textra and merely selecting no notification ringtone sets it to vibrate unless I go to individual app settings and set on the toggle "Show Silently". It is quite convoluted really.
Now what I want to achieve with the way my phone acts on notifications is something like this:
I want the to set a default notification ringtone and I want to set some notifications to vibrate and some to silent which I simply cannot do unless the app provides its own settings of silent/vibrate.
I want the Reminders and Events set in the Google and Calendar app to have a notification ringtone even when in default settings I have set notification ringtone to "None" but they rely on default notification settings. Some apps like Textra provide their own so is it really hard for Google's own app to do the same. This way I can set a different ringtone too than the default one. So I would like to know of a way to do so.
And honestly why aren't Reminders relying on Alarm sound i.e. if alarms are allowed to make a sound Reminders should too. It is really frustrating. I missed a reminder like this today because I wasn't aware of the convoluted way Nougat handles all this.
Kitkat had the best implementation. It had a separate slider for notification sounds too.(Cyanogen OS had one).
What I think is a better implementation is allowing to set a default ringtone in Sounds settings and then in individual app's notification settings separating the vibrate part from the "Show Silently" option. This would allow me to achieve my goal of having a ringtone for some apps, vibrate for some and silent for some. And it would solve my problem of having a sound when I have set a reminder in the Google app and have set default notification ringtone to "None".
The best implementation of course would be to set a default silent, vibrate or ringtone for notifications and then have granular control for each app i.e have a list of all apps and allowing to choose from Silent, Vibrate or ringtone for each app which would override the default.
Also why not allow to change the default sound that the volume rockers control. In Google's own YouTube app volume rockers change the notification volume and not the media volume which is again very frustrating.
Sorry for the long post and rant. I really wish Google fixes this but I doubt it.
Hello
I reinstalled my phone. Exactly same as before. Resurrection Remix 6.2. There is one thing I can't set up anymore.
In the status bar, there is an icon to toggle to enable / disable 'do not disturb'. Either it's on or off. Before I had a 3rd option. Do not disturb, except calls. Now, I can't use three profiles. Only two.
I'm sure someone has an suggestion how to set it up correctly.
Again:
Profile 1: Do not disturb (except alarms)
Profile 2: disable 'do not disturb'
Profile 3: do not disturb but calls
I was able to click the icon two times to change the profiles.
Now, if I want activate Profile 3 I have to pull down the icon to enter the settings.
I barely remember that I somewhere changed what the phone understands as high priority. And suddenly a 3rd. type of the icon appeared. But now, I can't reproduce it. Even though it must be possible since I installed the same OS.
