I use an ADATA 16GB Class 6 with ext3 and it is fine. I recommend using GParted in Ubuntu to do the partitioning.
This is to all the noobs like me
First of all, big thanks to code28h4p for giving us all this wonderful ROM ! Its fast, smooth and sexy!

Well when I first tried to partition the Sd card, I go errors that the SD card was spoilt on my ACE. I was bewildered, so I tried this method and it worked!!
1. Safely remove SD card.
2. Insert the SD card in the u D to SD converter provided by samsung.(Yeah you need to this, I was not able to format the SD card while it was in the phone and this is clas 2 card. BTW I am using the 2GB card provided by Samsung India with SGA.)
3. Using mini partition tools (http://download.cnet.com/Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html) partition into FAT (16 or 32 depending on SD card size) and ext 2.
4. Insert back the sd card, and run commands (refer the ROM post) in ADB or using terminal for android. Voila! A2SD is setup after a loooong reboot.
Guys AFAIK there are SD cards with classes 2, 4, 6,8 and 10. (may be higher classes, but I have not come across them.) Basically CLASS of the SD card indicates the data transfer rate of the SD card. Higher the class much better is the Data transfer rate. I would suggest you to go for a class 4 or class 6, 4 or 8 Gb SD cardif you just plan to use the 'a2sd cachesdreset' and go for class 10 (COSTLY!) 16 Gb SD card if you like to store a lot of media and if you want to use 'a2sd datasd' command as there will be slight LAG with lower clas SD cards.
The brands that I would recommend are : Transcend, Kingston which r available in India.
press THX if I helped!!!
[PS: any modifications to be made, plz PM me THX!!]
i tought there some sd cards that doesnt support this?
could you have the list that support this?
hehe..anyways thnx for summarizing this method..
sorry also a newbie..hehe cant understand step2..T_T
hope screenies would be provided sooner..hehe
Maybe, someboby would hav problem with stock memory or low capacities memory. If, someone, will have problem, post you SD card.
dont know how to categorize classes of each sd card..
u have lists of classes?
mine was just tdk 4g..dont know if u know that brand..lol
btw..what are the recomended sd card classes and brands that will flawlessly suits this partitioning and ap2sd?
I had some problem with SD 4gb Class 4. Others, with class 6 or better didn't have problems. I don't know if all sd cards class 2 or 4 has problems, but some has.

Hi mate!
I feel all sd cards can be partitioned into partitions (sorry for the repetitiveness of the sentence ).
The 2nd step just states that you have to insert your sd card into the micro SD card to SD card converter that samsung (you can also get it from computer stores. just ask for micro SD to SD converter. It will cost 20 Indian Rupees = 0.3$ ) has provided. Then insert that converter along with micro SD card into a card reader on a laptop or the one that can be connected to the PC.
hey i'm new to all this and i guess i messed it up..
I have the sd card provided by samsung, 2gb one...i followed whatever u said...but in the terminal it says 'EXT partition is not mounted'
...what to do?

Everything sorted out...I flashed it again with sd card inserted,......Thanks for the tutorial!
I'm wondering if there are known problems when partitioning 32GB (Class 10) microSD cards with multiple partitions?
I'm asking because I have the same problem with two 32GB cards from different vendors. I wanted to replace the 16GB Class 2 card I'm using in my HTC Desire for A2SD (M2SD to be exact) with a 32GB Class 10.
First I bought a Transcend 32GB Class 10 and partitioned it like
1. fat32 (30750MB)
2. ext3 (1000MB)
3. swap (250MB)
I had this setup running a few days when I noticed strange behaviour and sudden application crashes. In the output of dmesg I could see I/O errors when accessing the SD card. The SD card mount points where then mounted read-only (which caused the applications to crash).
I thought the card was broken and bought a new one (also 32GB Class 10) by SanDisk. I partitioned this card the same way as before and while copying backups from the first card onto the new one (on a PC) there were again I/O errors on the new card.
Either I have very bad luck or there are known problems when partitioning 32GB microSDs with multiple partitions? For the record I didn't have any problems with the old 16GB card (it had a fat32 and ext3 partition).
What's strange however is that when the 32GB card has only one fat32 partition (the default so to say) there were no errors when copying some dummy data onto it.
i don't know, but Swap degrade the SDcard.
I bought a SanDisk 32GB Micro SDHC Class 10 Ultra Card with Adapter on Amazon!
This card is very strange!
First I couldn't even use it on card reader on my Linux machine. It only showed a 4GB volume on it.
Then I google for a while and found a special application for windows for format this cards.
And started to work on my Samsung Galaxy S2 and use CM9 (stable) with 32 GB available.
But when I transfer files to it trough USB cable.
I mount the card on my linux machine and use "cp -av /folder /media/disk-x" to copy files to it.
But sometimes the phone disconnects for it self during the tranfer.
It's weird!
Anyone with problems with this cards?
My phone is Samsung Galaxy S2 with CM9 stable with CM kernel.
The OS on the computer is Slackware 13.37 64 bits (stable)
The card is SanDisk 32GB Micro SDHC Ultra Card Class 10 with Adapter
I already used another card without any problems, Kingston 16 GB Class 10
Any info on this issue will be very important to me!
Thanks!
I made a mistake posting this thread on the wrong section!
It is possible move it to Galaxy S II Accessories ???
I know there are numerous posts on this, however I could not find one that addressed my specific situation.
I have a rooted Lg G3 with stock rom and I am trying to use a class 10 SanDisk Extreme (16gb). The micro sd card read just fine on my computer with no problem at all with reading and writing data, however when I plug it in my phone I get a dialog that addresses the fact that a micro SD card. But when I check the storage setting I see that it has failed to mount.
To see if its a functionality problem on my phone i mounted a class 4 SanDisk micro SD with no error. I tried formatting the sd card through my computer to NTFS and FAT32 with 32 kb allocation size (quick format switched off) yet still no luck. Is it a possibility that LG G3 is not compatible with class 10 micro SD Cards?
Any help would be appreciated, and thanks for your time.
Just to update the information I posted above, but I tried mounting the SD card on my friend's Verizon Galaxy S5 and it ended up successfully being able to read and format it. Maybe it's my phone? If so is there anyway of fixing it or possibly modifying it?
It is possible that the handset cannot read/mount Class 10 cards, I've seen it mentioned in threads before about trouble with mounting SDCards, Class 10 seems to be the biggest problem I've seem mentioned.
Use the search for Class 10 on the forums and see if a solution is available
