Haven't tried it, but all tutorials on the internet about compiling android are for linux. Probably because android is a linux based operation system. I don't think it's possible to compile on windows
Install linux or use the live CD...
well I guess I'll have to install Ubuntu then
Thanks... and any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Sorry, it's not quite as simple as that. First set up your Linux install, and all necessary tools (check the Android developers site), and then come back and ask where to begin!
any chance by making an htc sense ui custom rom for it?
Custom ROM
Can I also get the custom ROM for SG 551?
Thanks,
Disha
How to continue with built kernel

Now i have in path kernel/arch/arm/boot: Image, install.sh, Makefile, zImage
How to proceed?
Many thanks for any help!
thanx man real helpful
Any one had same experience? It may be something missing or HTC problem?
warnings in and of itself are not problematic
but does it compile ?
does the example actually run in the emulator ?
see this thread i initiated:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1210770
i can't get the sdk examples to run
i really wonder if anybody can ?
Many warnings in "Official Demos" are unacceptable. I tested and only one demo can complied and worked - it is "PenEventCompatibiilityDemo". The demo solve compatibility issues for Android 2.3 and 3.1. IMHO, they wanted to push all developer to develop Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) but their source mixed with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
I think they must upgrade flyer to Honeycomb first, because even I make the apps but I can't test it in actual device....
Included is the PenEventCompatibilty jar library to be packaged with your application should you want to write a low level PenEvent application that supports both Android 3.1 and Android 2.3.

Good Day XDA!
I'm just asking a little help because i don't know where to start to.. I do have a project in school that will use ARM Board and Android OS. I have bought an ARM Board but I don't know where to start to in integrating..
1. The ARM board has already installed Android OS 2.2 but I want to install a higher version of OS. Can someone give me an advice or tutorials that can help me to upgrade or to build android for an ARM?
2. I've seen the article about building android from source but I don't know what's next after building the source from Linux OS and in building boot loaders and drivers.
3. What are the ways in making applications pre-installed aside from ADB? Is it possible to have a pre-installed app in a custom ROM?
That's all! Thank you!
Hello, my name is Luca from Itali.
After 3 year I returned to develop on Android and now I have to decide which environment to use.
I'm excited to use Android Studio, but the problem is that I learn on the Commonsware book, where all examples are implemented with Eclipse.
Someone is working on Android Studio?
Do you know if is possible too run Eclipse and Android Studio at the same time (problem with abd, etc?)
Thanks, luca!

You can totally run eclipse and Android Studio together. I do.
BTW it's ADB (not abd), and that has no issues with either eclipse or Android Studio.
As an aside, how is it to learn from CommonsWare book?
Does anyone here knows what ROM that has an SDK 18 that is compatible with SHV-E210S?
There is a feature of an app that I would like to use but it needs at least an android with SDK 18.
I have check the thread but there is a lot of roms.
