When I unlock my phone (by pressing power or home button) first I can see my home screen before the lock screen. Is this normal or is there a way to solve this problem?. My phone is rooted.
This should only happen the first time after boot. It shouldn't happen on the stock lockscreen. If you're using widgetlocker or jkay lockscreen, maybe you're using a governor that responds slower waking from sleep?

No. I haven't installed any lock screen and I'm using stock lock screen. It always like this. Not just after reboot. When I press home button or power button to unlock the phone first I can see home screen (or the screen before I lock the phone) and then suddenly change to lock screen.

there is any way to stop automatically screen time out - turn off so it always stay on but is only locked, or wake up on another button besides power button, since I have a huge issue wake up screen.
AFAIK, the only way to lock your phone is by turning the screen off. If you left your screen on all the time, your battery would die after a couple of hours.
Download widgetsoid from the market. Theres a widget to keep screen on but I dont think it would be locked.

I am having this problem...I lock the screen however if i push the power button to bring the screen on, I will see where i have to put in my pin or if i use the pattern if i do nothing and let the screen go off again i wait 2-3 seconds and push power again the screen comes on and all you have to do is drag the screen saver and you are in.
How come it doesnt stay locked? Is this a glitch I am using the stock system

Thanks alot, I was tryng to search google and kept getting nothing that applied to what I was searching for. Guess I was using the wrong terms
Hello, before ICS I was using an app (tap tap tap https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.maicas.android.wsleep&feature=search_result)
to turn off screen by pressing a widget instead of pressing the power button, thereby I avoid to be pressing the annoying button
It worked perfectly, but after flashing ICS it isnt working good, when I try to turn off screen, it does it during half a second but then It go back on in pattern lockscreen. If I dont touch the screen it goes off again after a few seconds
Any idea please? thanks a lot
Maybe the app just doesn't work on ICS? A lot don't yet
Have you noticed that this application has been updated 1 year ago??
Try " screen off and lock "

yeah yeah, tried that app and it works good , very pleased mate thanks you so much
I'm running stock, and I've found the screen won't automatically turn off while charging. 53 seconds after last touching the screen it will dim (when not charging it turns off at 60 seconds as it should), but will never turn off or lock as long as it is plugged in.
I've only installed these apps: audible, Facebook, pandora, speed test, and swift key. All updates installed.
This problem even happens after a battery pull at the lock screen before I've touched the phone, it just dims the lock screen.
There is an option in settings somewhere for "Keep screen awake while charging".
On ICS its in the development submenu - I can't remember exactly where it was on GB..
If you use a power control widget, you can change the screen timeout options.
I recommend Power Controls by Painless Death.

Best free widget I've found.
Or just press the lock/power button manually once phone is plugged in?

Great thanks! I found it under applications/development. Verizon sent me a new phone today because they didn't know how to stop it, sad.

LOL. Oh well, it will just get sold to someone else in a few months! No big loss.
hey i am using screen off app to turn off and on my screen as a im afraid that my power button will break after some time and i dont want that....so proximity sensor will break if its continously on ? how can i turn on screen using any other way without rooting?
BTW im using atrix 2
I use the Lock Screen app from Play. Then I assign it to a gesture, such as swipe up, in my launcher (Apex, Nova).
But I still have to use a button to turn the phone on.
