so i think the problem is in the app, not your phone. do you have app2sd or link2sd installed? maybe that will solve your problem

Just installed it on 2.1.1.Clean.0.0 and installed/runs without a hitch. Biggest game I had before that was MX Mayhem at 24MB
If you can not install it anyway you can copy the .apk to /system/app before flashing the rom so you skip the installation procedure.
Or.. on your current rom copy the apk to /data/app, set perms to rw r r and reboot...

check this out: http://www.getjar.com/
GetJar is a bad example (I am getting old I guess) - they seem have all kinds of apps now not like in the old days - java only (hence the 'jar' thing in their name). They still do have java apps as well though.
Anyways - there are many java apps (similarly to the apk files) which can do all kinds of things, pretty much everything.
but website with java still i can't view them.....
1. Did anyone try to install java app??
2. Did it work on the touch screen?
3. can we customize the buttons to work with the app?
thanks.
would it be possible to do the same but for flash apps and games?
@medo
Java app installed and working.
Touch screen working.
Can not customize the button. But button can be pressed using touch screen.

i didnt know theres buttons on the screen
i just didnt want to copy the libjbedvm.so file, thats why im asking
will try now
force closes on my x10. what do you think would be the reason?
I think you didn't put the lib in correct place.
So put it on /system/lib/
And then try.

sorry to revive a dead thread, but I am wondering:
what phone can I pick as an equivalent to the jbed engine on sites like getjar to see only the compatible jar files?
what does this do?
@svprm - I've two questions mate.
1: What is this for as Java runs native on Android devices... I'm not being sarcastic, it is a genuine question.
2: What do you think about the repeated remarks made yesterday about your JBed library enabling J.Anderson to gain permanent root - or as he put it - crack the bootloader?
Best Regards,
MH

The phone is probably not compatible for the games you mention, check both the game descriptions.
Did you download them from market???

If you have 2.1 you could go with link2sd and start moving some apps to free up space on the phone.

If u have the .apk file then try adb install if even that doesn't work then open terminal emulator and use the following command
*su
#cd sdcard //or location u have the apk file
#install nameofapkfile /data/app/nameofapkfile
#exit
*exit
This should work.....if cd sdcard fails try /mnt/sdcard/

Also delete cache partition.
Market downloads there first.
Do it with xrec.
If cache is full then it wont really download and tell you out of space error

What options does it give?
Try
#install nameofapk /data/app/
Instead of
#install nameofapk /data/app/nameofapk
This will not give any options I presume....try it and post the result also try clearing cache as slade mentioned
If even that doesnt work then we will try to flash it as update.zip....lol

If I edit something wrong, I'll be able to boot normally? I'm saying this because my recovery have problems, don't know why, and I won't be able to flash until friday. I can't stay without my phone till that.
Well the title says it all, whats the difference on having the offcial GB rom,and then root it,and having the pre-rooted GB rom.
BTW,i have the pre-rooted one, with no bugs and the newest xrec for GB

U dnt install it normaly just like other apk's.. u have to put it in system/app and delete the conversation.apk then reboot. There u go.. U NEED TO BE ROOTED TO DO THIS AND ALWAYS DO A BACKUP.

Remember if you push any apps/mods manually with root explorer to the system folders to set the right permissions.
You could end up with alot of errors otherwise.

Why we could get alot of errors when changing the file in the system when we're doing it right?
If theres an error then either we fix it or do a restoration. thats why always do BACKUP.
