Just rooted my lg p509 with zroot. Now I want to install a rom.
1. That is 2.3
2. Has wireless tethering enabled

4. Allows swype
Can anyone recommend one and how to install it please? And do I have to do anything special with it or can I just flash it and reset my phone. Yes I'm trying to learn please have patience. All I have done is change my boot animation.

I need clockwork installed instead of Amon-Ra. Can I just flash CWM over AR, or do I have to flash back to stock, root etc...
Thanks.

Flash whatever recovery you need from here. You can flash CWM from your amon-ra. Read the thread.
Oh my God!!! Whatever you do don't flash the clockwork from inside amon!!!!!!!!! You will **** everything up

Easy way is to just download the free rom manager app and flash it from there. First option in the app. Or put the PC36100.zip from the clockwork mod thread on the root or your SD. Then power down your phone and hold volume down+power button and it will get you into the bootloader it will scan automaticly foe the file and it will ask you to update. Hit yes and then it will ask you to reboot. Hit yyes and you will have clockwork mod

You can flash cwm over amonra. The above quoted thread contains flashable zips of the recoveries. This is the best method to switch recoveries. I have changed it 2 or 3 times and have faced no problem. The zips are unsigned so you will have to disable signature verification before flashing. Using rom manager has caused bricking in many users.

There are 2 safe methods to flash ClockworkMod:
1) using adb method and flash .img file
2) download from the market Rom Manager, install, open it and choose "Flash ClockworkMod recovery", it will auto download cwm and flash it.

Huawei Pulse Mini
Dell Streak
Huawei Pulse
Commtiva Z71
Geeksphone One
Spice MI700, Commtiva Link N700
Huawei Ascend

That's the whole list, I didn't see the Optimus in there....if it's compatible with one of these phones, that's fine, but I didn't recognize it.
Thanks.

Bottom of my scroll is Hauwei...anyways, thanks all for your help, I found it finally following maybe 50 links, one worked - 99% of them though pointed to "megaupload" which doesn't work.
Now running CM7 AOSP variant, yay.
How can i root the tmobile optimus t? would any of this root method work?
try z4root (you can get it from 4shared .com)

koo thanks man, are there any customs roms for the phone as well?
Yes. Use z4root to root if your on 2.2 and you can get official application on xda just search. I am a Optimus T user even though V says otherwise. Our Optimus can use any p500 rom. I'm using Mik's cm7 and Franco's kernel. Also, if you use p500 roms you won't get wifi calling.

talk to t-mobile (chat or phone) for a unlock code, i recommend doing it before flashing custom ROMs because some people have reported difficulties unlocking after doing so

I used this guide. Basically:
- Install ClockworkMod Recovery and make a backup
- Flash ROM
- Flash kernel
- Flash gapps
Gingerbreak also works on the Optimus T. I have used it on mine and my wifes phone.
hey guys I gave my friend my old Optimus i bought and he restored it in the settings rather then in Recovery and now is stuck in Recovery mode. i tried restoring to an older Rom and reflashing a brand new one. that usually does the work on the incredible. was wondering how you fix this on the Optimus. i know every phone's has its little secrets. thanks in advance guys.

use kdz updater (risky in my view)
or
first flash custom recovery follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318750
then flash rom from custom recovery (for rom search development section in xda)
Thank you I'll try it after work and hopefully it works!

Hello I am a user of a LG Phoenix, I already rooted my phone via GingerBreak and installed Rom Manager and got CWM.
Well it shows all blue colors (Which I can deffinatly deal with) and says
Code:
ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
E: Bad boot message
"recovery"
I don't mind that message either BUT it don't let me install any roms or do anything in recovery, I wanted to install 2.3 and can't with this happening.
Sorry if there's another thread I am a little lazy looking for them, but I searched for about 20 minutes to find a fix but there's none.
Thanks,
Mike
emm..if u want to update to 2.3 original firmware than u can get the KDZ Flasher (which will save your phone from a full brick) .....u can get it frm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901247
Are you saying my phone is bricked and this will save it from being fully bricked and I don't need 2.3 I just want to overclock past 600mhz and get rid of AT&T bloatware.

OK, i am using UI-One rom whcih is a copy of miui for lg optimus one.
i have an lg thrive, cousin of the o one
everytime i flash a rom for lg optimus one, i must flash stock p505 kernel to fix color issue.
but now keyboard does not work without ics cm kernel, but color problem persists, i cant use both kernels at one time.
how do i fix this, so my colors would work, and keyboard wiould work too.
The thrive is old baseband. I have a thrive myself. I've found that Jobans #8 - 2.6.32.9 kernel is the only one that works correctly with this phone. One other option is to flash v20 firmware to upgrade device to new baseband.

It's easy dude!! There are two ways of doing is too install official gingerbread stock rom using kdz updater which is risky sometimes!! Other one is safer only if u do it properly so there u go the second method follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1217504&highlight=upgrade+baseband ok dude good luck!!!!!
