Sorry, misread your question. I wouldn't say gbcoid is optimized for tablet screens as the virtual controller button placement could be a hindrance at times. Aside from that [very] minor occasional inconvenience, it's very playable. Especially because you can change the Scaling of the screen to fit your preference.
*If you have a bluetooth controller, I imagine it would be 100% perfect.

Would you like to play PSX games?
I'm using here FPSe emulator, and dude, it reeeeally works. I recommend it to you if you're a Final Fantasy saga fan like me
Remember to download the BIOS, so you can save your game progress as if you had a memory card.. etc.
You should give it a try, trust me.

Hey can you tell me the steps to get FPse working? i got the app and i installed the bios file. is there any like a specific place to save the bios file?
as for roms. do u have to do any steps? or just download from the site as a .bin file and copied it onto ur tablet? i copied the .bin file onto my tablet but FPse can't find it.
FPse. Since the last update added dual core optimization ... well everything just works, in fact it works TOO fast - I had to frame limit all my games and I had turned on all the tweaks. Tekken III runs beautifully. Additionally the sixaxis bluetooth controller works great with it.

What are some emulators you guys are using for your Atrix, for what games, what systems, etc. I'm going to start trying a ton but thought I'd fire up a conversation here on which emulators people prefer (if any for that matter) lol.
I use oid emus like gameboid (although they're not in the market anymore, I installed it with an apk) but it works great and can overclock... the Nintendo DS ones I use always seem to lag but works ok. By the way these are for Pokemon and Zelda games. They don't eat up too much power either, at least in my opinion. About 20%/hour of constant use.

I've used Gameboid, psx4droid, and Snes9x ex, All with a Sixaxis(ps3) controller, and its extremely good if you like to play games in an emulator. All of those work pretty good, with out lag, too!
i cannt for the life of me get psx for droid to work any suggestions or pointers

Gameboid is the best GBA emulator in my opinion. You cannot get it from the market anymore. But do a Google search and you can install it from an .Apk.

I'm using Gensoid, Snesoid, Gameboid and FPSE (psx4droid won't run Legend of Mana..........)
GameBoid, N64oid, Nesoid, Snesoid
I use the bluetooth Wiimote app and it works great.
Wiimote classic for N64 and Snes
and for gameboy and nes i use just the wii mote rotated.
Apologies if this has been covered, looked but didn't find anything-
Anywhoo, dont feel like going through trial/error with diff emulators, just want some votes on best/most stable emulators for our X2- NES, SNES, ect.

N64: N64oid
NES: NESoid
SNES: SNesoid

MAME: Tiger Arcade
No emulator junkie would be happy without the use of an actual controller so I use Sixaxis Controller with all of the above.

Couldn't agree more, L2. I have several of those and they are awesome. Still got to get on that SixAxis though (tried to buy one the other day but it was wireless 2.4GHz, not bluetooth), wii-mote still not functioning with these emulators.

Have you tried Wii Controller IME? I used to use that and it worked for me, but I find using a sixaxis controller to be all around better. Of course you can use Wii Controller IME with the classic controller if connected to the wii mote, but that's just more clutter.

On other devices, I preferred SNES9X EX because it was free and open-source (same developer released it for iOS on Cydia, and webOS). It was pulled from the Market but can still be downloaded here:

Not sure how it works on the X2, as I don't have any games with me.

Haven't yet tried my FF7 with it, but Tekken 3 via software GPU plugin and with 32bit rendering/anti-aliasing etc runs very well (near constant 60fps).

Yeah do post what settings you're using ff7 on fpse with. My sound in ff7 is ****. Psxdroid seems to be playing games better than fpse. Also psxdroid is free now that it's being developed independently off the google play

I think you can tick spusync to make the sound better in ff7. I have tried that and the sound is a lot better. My only problem is when going into battle. The transition is just too laggy
I've ripped my Jedi Power Battles and Street Fight EX Plus Alpha disks and used them with FPse, they both run really well. For some reason none of the games I've downloaded work, only the two I've ripped works.
So I accidentally posted this in the internation SIII forums and didnt get many replies.

I haven't tried it yet, but try contacting the emulator authors about it. Several of the apps I have installed have had recent updates that fix speed issues with the SGS3.
I've used N64oid, snesoid, FPSE, and haven't had any issues at all one my S III, sprint.
i changed the gfx plug-in to the gles2n64 and it seems to play smoother.
with that being said. ocarina of time still plays great, but other games dont work as well as they did on the s2.
remember, the s3 is pushing almost double the pixels. the s4 is more powerful than exynos, but i dont think powerful enough to compensate though. just my opinion. games to not play as well on this phone as they did on the s2.
Id be curious to see how the quad core exynos version of the s3 handles gaming

Oh I have them and the pro version. But what plugin did you use? Did you use any specific settings?
The qualcomm plugin.
i really haven't messed with any settings other than setting the aspect ratio to 4:3 or whatever and all the emus ive ran run MUCH better then they did on my Xperia play. N64oid and FPse were basically unplayable for the most part. most roms were stupid slow.
this CPU and RAM seem to have no performance related issues running any emus as far as i can tell.

Alright I installed the free version of Chainfire and booted up FPse, went to switch to OpenGL and loaded the plugin, got an immediate force close upon reset, what did you have to do to get it to run?

On topic though, I've use NESoid, SNESoid, GBCoid, GBoid, GBAoid all work on my phone. Have tried n64oid.
I must say I just downloaded Chainfire3D with . Qualcomm plugin and it fixed any lag I had while playing NBA jam. DOPE!!!
I'm looking for suggestions for the best Android emulators. I already have DosBox Turbo but i am looking for NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, PS1, and any others. I am looking for the best ones out there, paid or free it doesn't matter to me.

Yes, that's the one.
I've had a bunch of hassle with RetroArch. I can't seem to play any SNES game or PSX game for more than 15 seconds before I get kicked back to the emu select screen. I tried reinstalling and the problem is still there.
I'll have to go back to Super GNES and FPSE.

You can see retroarch playing ps1 games on a note 2 flawlessly. So obviously the issue is on your end.
I find that retroarch lacks in configuration where a normal standalone emulator exceeds, they make for better compatibility with games and performance tweaks. The downside is that standalones are about $4 each.

Can you elaborate on this? Retroarch is getting in game menus, built in wii remote support, and more cores. What do the paid emus who run worse and have frameskip on do better?
The wii remote is garbage for any system post Genesis. You need more buttons. I'm using sixaxis and dualshock3 controller. Like said before though, the configuration in retro is a little weak compared to all the oids with button mapping at least

You can plug in a plethora of different controllers into the wii remote, giving you a ton of options. You can see here with the official Neo Geo arcade stick plugged into the wii remote.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=pdsFgv3EGLk
Retroarch has native Sixaxis controls. Configure the pad with the sixaxis app and set it to gamepad mode, and retroarch fully maps it out for you by default.
The configuration for the button mapping is identical to the oids and other emus, you can manually go in and set each button on the controller with whatever you are using. Can you again tell me what else you think the paid emus do better so i can tell the devs directly? Feedback is important, so i'd like to know what else to suggest. So far you've just mentioned stuff retroarch already does out of the box.
