I'd like to know if it is possible to flash another modem even though you have this or any other custom ROM installed.

Where can I get an UH (Latin america) modem? I've searched on the developer's forum and found the whole package, not the modem alone
Have you looked at intratech's thread on original firmwares?

That's where I found the modem packed with PDA and CSC. I only need the modem.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Anyone?

Do you want a specific modem version?
You could try this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
You can download the whole firmwares from there. Most of the firmwares consist of 3 parts. The .tar file with "modem" in its name is the modem which you can flash via Odin. Be sure to flash it in the right section of Odin.
So just download the firmware extract it and flash only the modem.
Hey..tnx pal.

I want to install a new modem, but I'm going to be running an older kernel than the modem. Will this combo work fine?
I run the opposite. I match my modem to the carriers firmware, and flash back modem after the ROM and kernel. No problems with speed or connectivity. You can only try....

Any modem can run with any rom.

Yes but sometimes Modem must be compatible with the Android build...
try
so you can try and if the new modem isnt work on older rom then reflash old modem too
Yep, pretty simple really. Extract modem from Intratech firmware thread and flash with Odin, our search for some of the CWM flashable modems. Try and test......

What firmware has that modem? I know there's DXLPF firmware but that contains DXLPB modem.
Also, I assume this is not for the phone in your signature?
sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm also looking for it. tried to download the firmware via Hotfile but it isn't too hot for me.
unless the OP got it, can I trouble someone to make a flashable zip for that? thank you in advance!
Hi folks,
First off, I'm the noobest noob you'll have seen in a while , I swapped my iphone 4s yesterday for a galaxy s3, best decision I've made in a while tbh.
Today I rooted the phone using odin and all that, but the reason I rooted in the first place is still eluding me.
I want to debrand the phone and get rid of the boot screen and useless apps.
I've searched through the forums and internet and basically I'm just plain confused! If someone could explain to me the process or point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful. I just don't know certain things like can I flash using filles not for XXELLA etc.
For the record:
4.1.2.
XXELLA
Vodafone (me)
O2 (unlocked phone)
Thanks in advance
Debranding is the process of flashing a stock rom that is unbranded. You would get this from sammobile.com (BTU is uk unbranded). You would flash via odin. Guides are all in general > sticky roll-up thread

First off thank you for the reply rootSU,
I just have two questions,
1. I can flash BTU even though I have an irish O2 phone yes?
2. Am I right in assuming tge BTU file must be XXELLA?
1) Yes but you may want the irish unbranded. Check the csc sticky in general for what that is
2) no? Flash the latest.

Just as an update after following your guidance I am now the owner of a de-branded SIII.
Just as an FYI addition I found through research that the BTU file covers both the UK and Ireland and was the one that worked.
Thank you again rootSU and I can only apologise for the fact I can only thank you once per post. :good::laugh:
No worries. I don't help for "thanks"
