Not recognized simlock certificate issue - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all, about NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE
Can i work around this to get those custom room into my phone
a1exander's M1U1 1.11.4 or cyan cm 7.1.0
as its always looses radio signal after unlocking the bootloader
can it be done

anyone who knows how to around this

your phone's sim-unlock was done using non-official methods.... you need to use SETOOL2 sim-unlock service or I had mine done through HTCCODE about a 2 years ago, that was a SEMC unlock and I unlocked bootloader using SEMC unlock program from the_laser. I think the_laser who posted the original bootloader unlock thread operates an SETOOL2 unlock service.
Anyways, you just need to get your phone sim-unlocked (or locked??) again the right way.

well i got my phone radio signal back....with unlock client software
about this issue (NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE MAYBE YOU SHOULD UNLOCK PHONE BY SETOOL2)
My phone was factory unlocked...what can i do to unlock the bootloader
without loosing radio signal, do i need to buy new phone or can i make someone
to change the phone for me....???

anyone with the same problem as i have?

I have the same problem on my X10

Can i do the sim unlock via davinci after i've unlocked my bootloader? - Yes(ish)

I unlocked my X10 bootloader when it was released, since then i've realised I still had credits in my davinci account, so I thought I'd have a crack at sim unlocking it.
The question I have is, will this brick my device if flash the 2.1 software back, perform the unlock and then flash back to cm7?
Maybe no-one has tried it yet, but I'm looking for a sensible answer with some evidence to back it up.
Cheers ppl

OK, So yes I can sim unlock it with davinci, But now I'm back to having a locked bootloader which is probably because it rewrote s1_boot in doing the sim unlock.
Soooo, now I can use another network sim which is my main priority as i just switched contracts.
But I'd like to have an unlocked bootloader so i'm not crippled and can go back to FXP and not SE GB.
I know I could unlock the bootloader and not have network access but that defeats the object of having it sim unlocked.
Looking back, There are a few things that would make this a lot easier....
Hi!
I had the same problem.
I was able to unlock bootloader and running Linuxdx+GingerDX.
Then i wanted to unlock my phone, did it with davinci app and worked all just fine, but after trying unlock my bootloader again the sime network crashes.
I have tried both choices on my phone both semc unlock and seetool unlock.
The same problem.
Only way to rescue my bricked phone is to make a "new" unlock again.
Now i have paid a unlock a couple of times so i dont dare to try unlock bootloader again.
Well i really like LinuxDX+GingerDX.
I beleuve that i am stock with STOCK kernel and GingerDX until a solution is here...

[Q] Problem about bootloader of SK17

Good day !
I have come across a situation of unknown bootloader of SK17 .
I found some shop in Hong Kong is selling some cheap SK17 (not sure if it is the same as SK17i) . I asked the shop keeper and they said that the bootloader is locked , but without SIM lock .
So , will someone confirm me if this situation is possible ? As I read some post in this form it indicate that locked bootloader is usually because it is branded , i.e. SIM locked . If it is SIM free version does it mean I can make the bootloader unlock ?
And , what if the system shows "Bootloader unlockable ? No" ? Is there any way to work around this issue to make the bootloader unlock ?
Thanks so much !
Rgds,
Kurz
Hi!
A simlock is something totally different to the bootloader´s lock.
No Simlock means that you can use any sim of any provider you like and who´s band is supported by phone´s hardware.
The bootloader ist locked by sony basically to prevent people from removing the sony Firmware even if it is not branded. A second issue is probably to prevent people from unlocking and playing with the firmware who do not know what they do.
Before the lock of the bootloader it was easy for everyone with one-click-tools or similar to root the phone. This could have led to many RMA procedures at Sony
But there must be a possibility to unlock it due to the terms of open source software.
So there is no need for you to unlock the bootloader as it takes any simcard anyway.
What the issue about sk17i sk17 and sk17a is, I do not know yet. But I´m curious about it
hi... how to know that your xperia mini pro unlock already in bootloader?
my rooting status is,
Bootloader unlock allowed: YES
is it already unlock in bootloader?? or not
It meens that it is be allowed to unlock your bootloader. It means not that your bootloader *is* unlocked.
Hi Poedel ,
Yes I understand SIM locked and Bootloader locked is different . But I wish to install 3rd party roms (CM7 rulez) , so I still wish to know how to unlock the bootloader .
So maybe I change a little bit about my question .
1) a sim unlocked device with locked bootloader (bootloader unlock allowed : no) cannot unlock due to the SIM lock . Then will it allow to unlock if the device change to SIM unlocked ?
2) Any method to work around the locked bootloader (bootloader unlock allowed : no)
3) Any way to unlock the bootloader if IMEI code cannot be used to extract the unlock code ? As I know some of the shop will use flash rom writer to wipe with another device firmware and IMEI will changes (it happens last time when I buy a X01HT) .
Thanks a lot !

this is still confusing The simlock does not take care at all if there is a bootloader-lock or not. I never ask someone if I am allowed, definetly not mr. simlock

okay, usually you'll go to the sony's dev site bootloaderunlockl.sonyericsson.com (don't know the correct sub, could be correct) and authenticated by your IMEI and email you'll get the unlock code. Without IMEI you won't be able to unlock. But even if you IMEI changed you can try the current IMEI. What I think is that Sony just saves the Email and IMEI into a mySQL Database to cope with the situation if your device enters RMA à la "you unlocked, your fault". It would be rather not the way that they look if your current IMEI really belongs to the device there. I would simply try it. BUT!
There is a post where a method is shown to root your ph0ne without unlocking the bootloader.
So here are both links:
rooting without unlocking not tested by me (even not yet read *covering*)
default way like I did it
Dear Poedel ,
Thanks , that's exactly what I wish to know .
So in worst case if bootloader is not going to unlock in normal way , I should use the test point function to bypass it and flash another room and firmware into it , and unlock the bootloader again ?
Thanks very much !

[Q] Unlocking bootloader

hi all
i got my x10 mini from a friend. he said that when he bought it, it was sim locked. so he unlocked the phone.
if i unlock the bootloader it will restore the original sim lock of the phone?
if yes, there is any free way of sim unlocking x10 mini?
It depends on how he unlocked the phone,

the tutorials say that if the output from S1tool is
"SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" - the bootloader can be unlocked
"NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" - the bootloader cannot be unlocked
i have "SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" and i know i can unlock my bootloader
but my question is:
after unlock it, will still restore the original sim lock?
Or for other word:
does the S1tool output refers to the possibility of unlocking the bootloader, or refers to the restore of the original?
i don't know if i can really help cause i not really a expert, but i think what they say with
"SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" - the bootloader can be unlocked
is if you have the semc simlock it will still be sim unlocked.
not really sure about it.
mine was SEMC SIMLOCK and after the bootloader was unloloked, the sim unlock was still working fine.

was your phone original unlocked?
yes it was, havent really tought about it.
really dont know if its the same thing
Well, I never used a locked phone, but the linked post says:
if your phone unlocked by setool2 software, use msm7227_setool2.cmd
if your phone unlocked by 3rd-party software other than setool2, do not run anything -
it will disable radio capability of your phone and you will need to unlock phone by setool2 software.

What I understand from the text is that if he unlocked the phone using anything different from setool2, it will disable the radio, but that it can be restored afterwards by using setool2.
Edit: not sure however why "do not run anything" would be in bold if it could be reverted afterwards

Because the simunlock to restore radio with setool does cost money

i think my phone was not unlocked by setool because i have the "SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" output in S1tool
According to the unlocking bootloader guide post (here):
5. If you had
1: the SEMC SIMLOCK CERTFICATE message or if you
2: unlocked your phone using EMMA/IMEI code
3: or if your phone was already unlocked when you bought it (first-hand phone)
4: or if your phone is sim-locked, or if...
THEN
run msm7227_semc.cmd in the directory you unzipped the unlocking files to and press any key to start the unlocking process
So i know i can unlock my bootloader
My question is if i will loose the sim network unlock and the phone will revert to sim locked?
no one knows?
i guess i will try it anyway

That's weird.. wotan server unlocks sim lock using the test point, so it was supposed to unlock your phone's bootloader too.. maybe you did something wrong.. xD
any way, check this out:
[Unlock Bootloader]Xperias 2011 unlock for free.
yes, i've been trying omnius-server and S1tool for the last 3h!
im using an home made testpoint.
omnius-server doesnt seem to recognise it, and s1 ends with this error:
qcReceivePacket: can't get packet start

build number unlock bootloader

how can i unlock x10 mini(build number 2.1.1.c.0.0)bootloader?
plz help...
I don't think we can say that from your firmware version. You'd better have a look at the number on your sticker below the backcover of your phone, telling a date in the format
XXWYY
Where XX is the year and YY the Week, so for example
12W16 would be 2012 week 16
If this date is before 11W29, it's (except mentioned different) safe to unlock your bootloader.

so if it's after that date and i unlock bootloader then what problem will occur?
it may dead???

( c button does not work in my pc )

As far as I'm aware, the manufacturing date doesn't really matter to 2010 devices, as far as i know that particular issue was only relevant to 2011 devices after a particular manufacturing date.
If you're successful in unlocking your bootloader on the X10-mini solely depends on your simlock-certificate. If you unlock your bootloader, reboot your system and make sure you can still connect to the network, if you can't relock it and hope it will come back to normal. In the last case you're limited to roms that use the stock kernel.
If unlocked with gsm/data still working you can try custom kernels with their respecitve roms
Hope I've helped

sorry but what is simlock-certificate?
As far as i am aware it's the certificate that tells your sim it's locked to your provider, if you bought your phone simlock-free, you will have a standard Sony-Ericsson simlock-certificate, if not you will have one from your provider.
The hack used to bypass the bootloader on the x10mini doesn't work with custom certificates,
If you don't have the sony-ericsson (SEMC) simlock-certificate you need to unlock your phone using a emma/imei code from your provider or using an unlock tool like omnius.
If S1tool identifies your simlock-certificate as unknown, you have the chance that unlocking your bootloader will result in the loss of radio-capability (no GSM/3G), and you are stuck with a device that can't function as a phone anymore.
