[Q] EVO 3D Models (x515a, x515c, x515m...) - HTC EVO 3D

Looking on google I found several models of EVO 3D, however I could not find the differences between them. I also searched the forum.
I want to buy a EVO 3D to use in BrazilianĀ“s GSM TIM carrier (3G - 2100MHz and some times 850MHz), I think the correct model is the X515m, but X515a also seems to work.
Can someone help me understand what are the differences between these models?
(I want a Android cell with 3D pictures, there are another good options?)

I'm also very interested in seeing the answer to this question. As far as build models of the device, I was only aware of two, shooter (CDMA) and shooteru (GSM).
I'm not sure where the different variations of the GSM models provide the unique identification in their software. Also, haven't seen anything definite around here on different GSM versions operating on different frequency bands.
As far as I've seen, the only difference in these GSM devices could be operating frequency as all other features and internal device identification seem to be fairly similar between them.
Hope somebody with some GSM knowledge can post up and clarify!

I dont no if it's a correctly information but I found this:
:: X515a (negrielectronics.com/htc-evo-3d-gsm-unlocked.html)
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz
:: X515m (negrielectronics.com/htc-x515m-evo-3d-black.html)
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 900 / 2100
So I need a EVO 3D GSM x515a

[Q] EVo 3D works in Europe?

Hello
I`m in California now. I really want to buy the EVO 3D without contract here.
I live in Switzerland. We don`t have 4g or Wimax.
AFAIK we have GSM, UMTS, HSDPA, EDGE, 3G.
Is the Hardware in the phone working in Switzerland?
For Software I will install custom roms.
Thank you
Nope, wait for the gsm version, should be out soon around the world
Sent from my PC36100
Are you sure?
Here are the specs: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_evo_3d-3901.php
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 900 / 1700 / 2100
I think we have the same in Switzerland...
The Nexus One I ordered from USA too, works perfectly...
Can anyone say why this phone is different?
Thank You
It's not a GSM phone. It uses CDMA (no SIM card) so it will not be compatible with any European networks.
Oh, thank you for explaining me. I did` t know the difference.
Well, then I have to wait...
Maybe I can at least go to bestbuy and check the phone out.

[Q] Which EVO 3D do I have?

I have the GSM Evo 3D with the gold ring around the camera instead of red, and the 900, 1700, and 2100 bands for 3G. Which region is the phone for? I was wondering which RUU I need to use in case I have to restore and if all of the GSM ROMs are compatible with it unless otherwise noted.
*bump, a quick answer would be appreciated, thanks
Probably Rogers ....mines gold too
Sent from my Brick 3d
Thanks for the reply. I know that it's not the Rogers one because Rogers 3G is on 850/1900/2100 bands. Mine works with 900/1700/2100 3G bands. Also, I don't have a Rogers logo on the back.
According to PDADB.NET it is HTC EVO 3D X515 (HTC Shooter).

[Q] Different Radios? UMTS 900 interested

If there's any different radios for MoPho?
I wanna get UMTS 900 working on Photon. I know that it's not listed in the specs, but so as for Atrix 4G, and guy here flashed another radio and got UMTS working.
So, if there's any info about MoPho?
Where i can get stock radio, so i can try another one?
If Atrix 4G's radio will work for Photon? (I suggest hardware is pretty the same).
Any input on this is appreciated.

from what im seeing here
-----The phone operates at frequencies of CDMA 800 / 1900 / GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Mhz. -----
i would think it would work does it not work for you? , the photon community is still working hard on getting everything unlocked fully and right now what seems to be the main focus for the dev community is getting roms and wimax to work on an unlocked bootloader,
OK. first of all i'm personally not interested in CDMA part.
It operates
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
UMTS(WCDMA as i understand) 850 / 1900 / 2100
Local operator uses UMTS 900. So EDGE only for me. And i got H+ icon with another operator.
But i suggest the only difference is the radio flashed in the phone.
One user on XDA reported that he get UMTS 900 working on hit Atrix 4G. (Atrix got the same freqs listed as Photon, without UMTS 900).

so far as i know they havent gotten a full unlock of the frequencies they use and since the photon is really sprint only here in the states, it makes it hard to jump from one band to another since no one really has it, i know that in japan they had a wimax photon, that one might be a shot i just have no clue where to find a sbf file for it nor whether or not it would even flash to the sprint photon, are you out of the US and if so which provider?
There's a topic with leaked sbf that says wimax working. not sure if it's from japan.
I cannot find any radio in .zip or .sbf file. If i could find one, even stock radio, I could try flashing one from Atrix. Dunno if it help or not, but why not to try?
Yep, I'm out of US, in Kazachstan.
Beeline and Tele2. Second one require UMTS 900.

talk with joker or shabby they should know where its at, im not that far into developing as they are, im just trying to learn as i go
This is definitely something i would like to see happen in the future. Im moving to Sydney at the end of this month and plan to take trips frequently to area that only have dual band coverage on Optus (UMTS900/2100). So until someone hacks this i will only have 3G in Sydney where they have HSDPA2100Mhz.

GSM EVO 3D bands - answered

Hey all, just curious. I've been looking at GSM Evo 3d specs on the net and I am confused over what are the bands.
As far as I know, the only GSM carrier of this device is Rogers right?
It lists the Evo 3d UMTS/3g as 900/1900/2100 on gsmarena. I read elsewhere this phone is 850/1900 and works with AT&T. So I am confused, someone let me know what's it really at. Thanks
edit: resolved, figured it out. Hope this answers helps someone (see below)
Well, nevermind, I guess I figured out the answer to this after some hours of digging. Seems there are 3 versions of EVO 3D:
x515m - European EVO 3D - UMTS / 3G bands: 900 / 1700 / 2100 / AWS [Camera outline is RED]
x515a - Canada Rogers EVO 3D - UMTS / 3G bands: 850 / 1900 / 2100 [Note: camera outline is GOLD and has Rogers logo on side]
x515c - Sprint EVO 3D - CDMA2000 1xEV-DO [Camera outline is RED]
x515m - works with T-mobile USA 3G/HSPA, Wind mobile (Canada), European carriers
x515a - works with AT&T USA 3G/HSPA and medianet plan

Thank you for posting this information. This was helpful! I'm looking at a X515m for use on T-mobile. This confirms the frequency band will work.
