Regain warranty for wat?
Sent from GT-S5830 using Grif's Cyanogenmod
We really need more details on what you mean by that.
Here's what I assume:
Your device is bricked > Follow the unbricking tutorial
Your device has a custom ROM > Flash back to the regular firmware from samfirmware or the xda development forum
or restore if you have created a backup.
Just make it look the way it was when you bought it

Guys! I want to repair my speaker of my SGA! They are telling as u have updated your phone u lose your warranty and are asking for 2k for replacing it with orignal speaker!
Thus i wanna know is there any way to regain the warranty after using so many ROMs and rooting the phone! If my phone gets its warranty the speaker will b replaced for free of cost..!

You lose your warranty only if they know that you are using custom firmware. Just revert back to Stock GB rom?

Questions.
- How to check my firmware version? ( *#1234# )
- How do i know how young my firmware version is?
( Check LetterCodePage )
- Make always sure your phone is simlock free. ( Try a
other simcard from a other brand )
- If your phone isn't simlock free please use only your
provider firmwares.
- For more questions please read our FAQ page.
That what I found in SamMobile.com. Is there no risk if I will install other firmware?

My phone is S5830B, from Brazil, and many S5830 firmwares didnt worked for me.

Hello,
I have p500(indian) on old baseband and want to upgrade to new bb using lgmdp.. following are a few questions that i dint find an answer to.
1.what is the risk of having a bricked device if i turn off lg virtual modem..?
2. th lg virtual modem is shown as lge android platform usb modem.. is it the same..?
3. What rom and recovery should i be on to flash new baseband?
4. can i flash cm9 first and then new baseband?
5.my recovery takes around 5 seconds to show the options... it wasnt like this before.. is this normal? im on the recovery i firrst installed(amonra 1.2 the one with bad boot message)
6.before flashing a recovery zip or cwm from rom manger what precautions should i take?
7.In rom manager if i say install recovery.. it shows p500 and p500(oldbb) so if i flash old bb now and then upgrade.. will it work?
8. if flash the one without (oldbb) will my phone get bricked..?
Thanks for your answers in advance.. p500 was the best phone i got in my life.. and its not because of lg.. its because of its awesome community.!
> when i was on stock as you
> 1st I rooted ,this is A MUST 1st to do
> 2nd flash clockworkmod or amonra.. but cwm would be good for starters, just download rom manager at play store.. and u'll get it
> 3rd since ur on old baseband.. i suggest you flash cm7 rom or the on i modded then flash the old baseband fix so you dont need to upgrade
> incase you want to upgrade so u can also use cm9
> now is the time to use lgmdp .. Em not sure.. but i think its different ..virtual modem wasnt there when i switched baseband so i did not disabled any..
i think it good
Can anyone answer please..? cant find answers to these questions.. and neko man i think you misunderstood my question.. it partly answered one that is lg virtula modem maybe does not play an important part.. ppl please answer..

There is definitely a risk, and you have to follow the instructions clearly to avoid any risks. To be honest here, I bricked my phone thrice (yes! 3 times) using kdz updater. That's why I'd suggest that you don't upgrade to new bb using kdz updater

The only and most secure thing i have to prefer u to flash official froyo 2.2.2 on ur phone first... if u already using it then its ok... n if not then search a official froyo rom in zip format for flashing it via cwm recovery... after then... use lg pc suite for upgrading it to official 2.3.3 n ur phone will automatically updated to new bb too.
EDIT: Just clarify me what rom n recovery are u using...!?? What android version and baseband shows on ur phone....
Type in phone dialer to get BB details

Hey guys,I hope to solve my problem.I read threads regarding this but couldnt understand.
So here it is,I got a micromax A87 phone a month ago, then I rooted it.I removed the manufucturers RAM hungry apps.Everything was fine, but from yesterday on call(both incoming and outgoing) I cant here the voice, but they can hear mine.Though I can hear them on speaker and headphone.
So now I want to give to company service center so what should I do?
1.Flash the phone with custom rom or
2.Unroot and install all those preinstalled manufacturer apps
I would like to do the second method. So my question is in which method I can fake that device was not rooted so I can reclaim my warranty? suggest if there is another method and how does the manufacturer come to know if i rooted the phone?
Try a factory custom rom. Then remove root. Most manfacturers dont care though.

Unroot your phone and give it to service center.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda premium
There are two solutions
1.you could find another member with your phone and get the apps that you deleted and unroot and give it to service!
Or
2. You could flash stone random rom and brick you device completely and give it back to service saying that it won't start up and hope they don't find out!
Personally I'd suggest you go for 1
