so i found these cool bootanimations (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974773) and wanted to put them on my neo.
according to the guy who made them i have to rename it and push it here---> /data/local folder but there isnt the boot animation. i found i file called bootanimation here ---> /system/bin
so my question can i just push it into the bin folder? or is there an other way?

This bootanimation is something another file.
Bootanimation.zip is located system/media, data/local etc...depends what rom you are using. Bin folder is something another.
EDIT:editing bootanimation you can use "absolute system"toolbox....for Neo you must change resolution 854x480

does some one succeded to change boot animation ?
Yes, i found a nice guide somewhere in a thread in this forums. Sry, but can't remember where, maybe you can find it by using the search ;-) .
the problem is that zip file dont work for sga
The tutorial i folled, worked by moving and copying some files in the filesystem (root needed)...
I'll search it tomorrow if you/no one else finds a link to the guide.

hello guys i want to share how to change your bootanimation zip to custom animation,
im currently still using froyo, so if you use custom rom the steps might be different,
but should work for GBKPE too,
i download the bootanimation files from this thread
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905538
here's the steps :
things u need :
-ROOTED ACE
-ROOT Explorer installed or similiar app
-rename the animation you download to "bootanimation.zip"
-paste the bootanimation.zip you downloaded into your sdcard, anywhere is fine
-use root explorer open the system/bin
-look for the "samsungloop" file, move it to your sdcard first, just in case, you can either move it or copy it again to another place, (in my case, i copy it into system/ and another to my sdcard)
-go to system/bin ,look for "bootanimation", and rename it to "samsungloop", if you use ROOT explorer, don't forget to change the previlege first, change R/W permission first to R/O,,,(the bootanimation is not the file where you rename your animation you downloaded to be bootanimation.zip)
-put the "bootanimation.zip" (the file you downloaded and rename it's names) to
system/media
-in system/media, there are 2 files if i'm not mistaken, bot of the files are with the extension .qmq, just rename it with root explorer to .qm extension file
-reboot your galaxy ACE
-done
if you follow my steps well, you should see your animation after reboot, if it's just a blank screen, then you do some mistakes in the steps,
feel free to ask if you still don't understand , sory for my bad english though

I need help with restoring the stock Galaxy S2 boot animation.
This was what happened. I installed jrummy's Root Tools.
In my eagerness, I replaced the original boot animation without backing up!
Now when I want to undo the changes that has been done, many an online search suggested going to system/media and removing bootanimation.zip so that bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop can work their magic...
And here is where the problem is, bootanimation.zip is nowhere to be found!
I wonder if Root Tools had totally overwritten bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop.
All I want is to get back the original bootanimation sequence.
Can anyone help with this? TIA!!!
Here is the original bootanimation
Just unzip the attached zip file and copy and paste the attached bootsamsung.qmp and bootsamsungloop.qmg to system/media and you are done..
BTW is your poweron sound intact??
Thanks bro! The poweron sound is still present.
I have resolved the problem. Apparently, I have been going at it wrongly.
I had been using Astro as file manager but it didn't allow me to access data/local where bootanimations.zip was.
After I switched to RootExplorer and removed the offending file, voila!

Does anyone know how to make a boot animation for my WT19a???
Sent from my WT19a using xda premium
The bootanimazion is a zip file containing some pictures. It's located in /system/media/bootanimation.zip.
Create your own bootanimation.zip and replace the original. That's all
Remember to set permissions to 644 for the new bootanimation.zip
I do not seem to have that folder "system", I'm running Cymod though.

Boot Animation
First of all go to system>media>bootanimation.zip and send it to your comp
unzip the file and do the changes and rename it bootanimation.zip
now the original animation you can rename anything and it is necessary or it will mingle with your new one
now paste the new animation and reboot
Enjoy your new animation

1) .zip file musn't use compression
2) after you paste new bootanimation.zip file into /system/media, you must give it 644 permission (rw,r,r)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1234611
How to change my bootanimation??
Replace the bootanimation.zip in /system/media and set the permissions like the stock bootanimation

How to set permissions??
Sent from my LT18i using xda app-developers app
Use Root Explorer or ES File Explorer.
use explorer like 'root explorer' and set the permissions from there. (don't forget to press mount r/w button before changing the permission)
Atrix 4G, CM7 based TopSmarts 1.3 rom, Faux123 1ghz kernel.
If I m helpful dont hesitate to thank me.

No question is stupid
The android bootanimation is a set of png files in one or more folders and a text file called desc.txt all together inside a zip file.
If you can get the separate frames from a animated gif file, then those can be converted into png images and made as a bootanimation
Take a look at the guide here for more info on the bootanimation zip

Dear friends
Gotta bored with regular bootanimation
I have some good boot animations which I change time to time you can download them from this linkhttps://www.box.com/bootanimations
In this folder you will find some of boot animations which are having bak extension just rename them ti zip and enjoy
For newbees, the boot animation is the series of images which forms animated shape when mobile boots up
Process to change boot animation
First use root explorer or es file explorer and gain superuser permission to rw system files there go to system/media there you will see a bootanimation.zip file rename it to bootanimation.bak and paste the zip file which you have downloaded from above link
Reboot and feel the change

You mentioned that we must move the bootanimation to system/media but you must also mention that after doing that we must change the bootanimation permission to 0644 or rw-r--r-- or else it won't show any bootanimation....
Press THANKS if I helped,
Best Regards,
AJ
thanks you...will try it wit my xmp
