A friend of mine bought a Samsung Infuse, he hoped to get the same SGII version of the Email app. Is there something I'm suppose to do to get it working on another Samsung phone? I copied my deoxed version and copied over to his system/app and set the right permissions, it kinda works but it's all messed up. The buttons have weird stretched backgrounds and crashes here and there.
Is this app hard-coded to only work on the SGII?

Hi,
i pulled the deskclock.apk file from CM5 for N1 zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623496) and installed it from the phone with no issues at all (extracted to pc, moved to phone, then launched from folder). however, i can't seem to change the settings -- i get a force close. same thing happens when i click on the music icon, but i assume its looking for the stock music player instead of TW music. that one doesn't concern me much.
do i need another app to configure? is it possible to manually edit a file?
i am unrooted, if that helps. (just waiting for samsung distribution of froyo this month...).
thanks!
I also get force close..
in case this helps someone else, i found that "Alarm Clock Plus V2" gives all the functionality and looks of the stock deskclock.apk, but actually works well (on the Vibrant) and has more functionality.

My guess is there is a dependency missing. Another app that deskclock uses. Try grabbing the Clock.apk from cm5 and try again.
Try going to market and look for Samsung. The galaxy version of the desk clock is there.

thanks guys. i think i'll stick with alarm clock plusV2 for now though -- does everything i want.
rel500, i downloaded that app before and, although i like it overall, the night mode is way too bright for me. it also doesn't seem to stay on while plugged in, which is a little annoying. thanks for the suggestion though.
The app is dependent upon the stock music apk that is on the CM builds, it is looking for that for the settings to be changed and also to open up the music player portion, you can set the alarm but that is it, unless you go to the hybrid build, which has the needed music player, or if you know what you are doing you can replace it yourself. But be aware that many of the touchwiz features are dependent upon each other. So know what your are doing before you break it.
Did they pull the desk clock from the market not showing up on mine
I just moved away from the Samsung Galaxy SII (I know I know, traitor I am ), but one of the things I oddly find myself missing are the notification sounds that the phone had by default. Particularly the Pure Bell sound. Anyone know of a place that I can download these sounds to put on my new phone?
Thanks.
On my SGS2 with Cyanogenmod 7 installed i found the standard audio files (alarms, notifications, ringtones, ui) under /system/media/audio
If you still have access to your old SGS2, then you may download them from there
Anyway i didn't find "Pure Bell". Maybe it's not delivered with Cyanogenmod 7 and just available with stock ROM.
Sadly I don't have access to my SGS2 anymore. It was actually an SGS2X (Telus in Canada) so maybe it was something Telus put in.
Edit: Found it. I just downloaded the latest VillainROM and pulled the sound out using 7zip. Yay!
Hi,
I fear this may be a silly question, but I've traversed the Internet as well as this forum and cannot seem to find an answer.
This issue happens on both a newly updated Galaxy S3 running 4.1.1 and Note 2 running the same operating system. Both devices were purchased unlocked in the UK.
Basically, whenever I try to add a widget to one of the home screens by dragging and dropping, the relevant app is launched, rather than the widget being added to the screen. I can add regular app short cuts just fine - this only happens with the widgets.
I've been using the Galaxy S3 for five months now with ICS installed and this issue never happened. I updated to 4.1.1 yesterday. The Note 2 was purchased today and the same issue happens.
I suspect the solution may well be very simple, but I can't seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hallo everyone.
For the last month am having a strange issue with Samsung apps and Samsung hub. All the rest are working fine no issues at all.
The problem is that I cannot install the stores in Samsung hub. It is giving me the option to update them, but as soon as I press install nothing happens.
So I uninstalled Samsung hub and then try to reinstall it from Samsung apps. In there I have found that I have purchased Samsung Hub 2 times (!!!!). As soon as I install one of them (any of them or both of them), I get 2 updated Samsung hubs in Samsung apps and 1 Samsung hub application on the phone which does what I just described.
I have decided then to reinstall everything by hand from scratch. Went into recovery, wiped EVERYTHING that says Format or wipe (I even wiped the screen ). Odin the original stock ROM for EUR (binary and system status are official now). Deleted my Samsung account after erase everything in it (including my S4 settings).
During setup, I setup nothing. I just went straight into Samsung apps and created a new account (also did the requested updates there for Samsung), logged in and again I had the same issue...... In purchased I had 2 Samsung hubs waiting for installation.
I odined the latest FIN stock ROM, repeated the above steps and again had the same results.
My S4 Samsung apps & hub are just fine.
In all my attempts I am getting some strange things in hub stores, like the Samsung Video update is -0.00MB.
In all my attempts and in both purchased Samsung hubs in my Samsung apps, the version is 13100802.1.00.01.
I guess I am missing something, or I am doing something wrongly.
I have also did my tests without any root or custom recovery
Any suggestions???????
Only thing i could think of as you tried everything by the sounds of it is contact the site were your account is at and explain what is happening as it kinda sounds like a problem at their end.

Thank you for your prompt answer.
Indeed this is my thought...... that is way I "killed" my Samsung account in the first place. But......
1) After trying the procedure (wipe, killing, etc), the problem reappeared with a NEW Samsung account that I created for testing.
2) Samsung tech support said no for this instance.
3) Now I have created my "original" account (and have the same problem), during which I was not asked for verification, meaning that there was something left in Samsung servers.
Having said that, I can only conclude only one of the following:
1) Either the phone is identified in Samsung with a unique and unchangeable attribute, so there is a wrong assignment in apps/devices for my device in Samsung servers, in which case contacting them may solve the mystery.
2) Or this is something specific with Samsung hub for Greece and i9205.
I will be contacting them just in case, but I would like to hear any more ideas, if anyone has any.
I am having the same issue on my Note 10.1 2014 edition. I am not rooted so I can't uninstall. I contacted samsung and they told me to wipe, uninstall update a, delete account, then reinstall, and re add account. Nothing worked. Still get the same issue to install the video app with -0.00mb to install...

Well, nice to see I am not alone in this and it is not my imagination. :victory:
In your case you have half of my problem. The Samsung guy told me the exact same things like you. The only difference was that in my case i9205 out of the box (EUR & FIN ROMs) has no Samsung hub, thus you can uninstall it without root. Apparently though, uninstalling it is not the solution.
I wonder if there is a way to get the updates downloaded and installed manually.
It seems like this is a combination of things.....
I just went to a shop, grab the MEGA on display, created a new Samsung account on the spot and Samsung apps & hub did exactly the same thing!
So I guess Samsung must check a few things first......

That is odd and forsure it must be a problem at samsung's end.
I've got an AT&T Galaxy Tab S7 that doesn't have the Samsung Messages app installed, and I can't sideload any of the versions from apkmirror, so this is my last attempt so I can try and use Call and Text on other devices. Actually, I just want the messages app to text from the tablet. Before anyone says anything, I know there are other apps for this, but I want to try it anyway, and then if it doesn't work I'll go that route.
For some reason, AT&T has this tablet locked down so much that I can't even disable their stuff without issues. If someone has any ideas as to how to get around the lockdown, I'm all ears.
