Hi. first off my phone is the new 2.2 froyo from dell. stock no mods or root. I ordered a new lcd w/glass. had my buddy who owns and operates an Iphone repair shop put it in with the tear down instructions from Ifixit.com. before the tear down the phone will boot up. receive calls and all that, besides the fact that the screen was white with cracks that look like webbing underneath the gorilla glass. so he puts the new part in. powers on and now its stuck on the dell logo. we took it apart again to check ribbon connections and found nothing there. anyone have any ideas? faulty part? i read in another lcd replacement post here on xda in the streak subforum and a guy had the same problem (not the guy who started the post) but no answers for me there. please help!
thanks,
Henry
Can you get into recovery? Is it possible he bumped the internal SD card out of it's port? I'm not talking about the one under the battery door...there is one inside the phone near the external one.
Just an idea....

yeah, i just put it into recovery. recalibrated screen then even a factory reset. still on the boot logo. i'm taking it back apart now to check the internal sd. will let you know what happens next. thanks Uncle Fester!
If you have custom recovery, aka streakmod, do a cache wipe and a dalvik cache wipe, then reboot. If you don't, maybe you need a custom recovery. We can help with that too.

Good afternoon all,
So last night I updated to Neutrino 2.2 using the normal factory clear/dalvik cache wipe and finishing with installing the .zip
The only difference in this case is that I downloaded the zip using my phone over Wi-Fi.
Unfortunately for me, the phone will only boot to the Motorola logo splash screen and go no further. In the past I have recovered from a backup but I am unable to in this case.
I have tried re-wiping and reinstalling the ROM multiple times hoping for some luck but....I never got lucky =(
I assume the .zip was corrupt some how and caused this blip.
Anything now is....How do I recover? I have full access to the recovery but am unable to mount the internal storage and I do not have an SD card.
Advice please?
Neutrino V2.2 has a problem where the first (and only first) boot will hang. Just pull battery and reboot. Also, make sure to do the wipes before flashing and not after.

Cheers dude, I'll give it a go now.
Also, I am wiping before and not after ;D
WOW! I've been without a phone for a whole day and it was THAT easy to fix?
AHH dude wtf! Everything is back to front? So when I swipe left on home screen it goes right and right goes left. Even the buttons are screwed ;(
ok it fixed itself....LOLOLOLOLOL
Dude, has the market been removed? Because I haven't got it.
I am so noob today, I know I must install the .zip via recovery!
Yes, you have to install the "Lite Gapps" add-on from the second post in the Neutrino thread.

Glad you got your phone working again. I'm just chiming in to say a few nights ago my phone did the same mirror-image thing (on the Wet Dream rom, not sure it matters). I'm not exactly sure why that happened. My best guess is the CPU temp was a little high (around 60C); it stopped after a few minutes, coincidentally after it cooled down a bit.
but yeah, got a little worried when it persisted after a complete reboot... :/
(SOLVED) hello neighbors. I am having an issue... my atrix will only boot if i install honey atrix on it. i have tried many other roms. many different times. i have wiped all data cache partitions, dalvik, battery stats, formatted system, dat, cache. And still i can get nothing to boot besides Honeyatrix rom.
it seems to load them from the zip file ok just wont boot past the unlock dual core screen. i have let it set for 10-20 min to see if it will boot and nothing.
i had recieved this under warranty and it was shipped with the new 2.3.6. 4.5.91 and i rooted and unlocked using the unlock tool v.4.
any help with this would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance,
SErooted
Try a full wipe with fastboot before flashing. Also may need to flash appropriate kernel. What ROM's have you tried?

ive tried cherry pie, algorythm, cm7, neutrino, miui many of them, and i have never had this problem with my other atrix. just this one doesnt seem to be want todo anything but this one rom. and i have done a full wipe in moto fastboot as well. i forgot to mention it earlier.

Which recovery are you using?
Maybe install it again or try another one, perhaps its not installing properly

i have used cwm and tefnars recovery. i have installed each rom several times and still no change. it will only boot into honey atrix rom. i am really wanting to put miui back on and i have checked the latest by stevend25 ( sorry if spelled wrong) and i can go through the set up process but upon reboot, it wont boot past the startup screen.:-(
Damn replacement device!!!
Seriously people>>>> not one of you has insight on what the problem may be? i am not new to this phone or modding it and this is the first time ive ever had a problem and the community cant help?
PATHETIC!!!

Since it was almost 2 weeks between the last post trying to help you and your posts yesterday it's pretty safe to say everyone thought you had solved your problem and moved on. After this latest post, it's probably also safe to say you won't receive any more help.

your recovery is the problem install rom manager from market and update cwm or try romracer recovery.
Could also be the baseband radio. If that doesn't fix, looks like its time for the dreaded sbf.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
I would also use the latest romracer recovery or twrp from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400641. Also be sure to use appropriate kernel for the rom you are flashing and try the stock clocked kernels first. Good luck.

hmmmm I wondering on this one if his internal might be mal-partitioned.. I had this problem and was cured using mini tool partition wizard. Start off by making sure all's formatted fat 32 primary. Once you're assured of that, format again, fastboot - w and reinstall something like neutrino. Twice for good measure. Boot it , wait 60 seconds, pull battery and reboot. Lemme know bro if that helped..

How to make atrix's internal partition (system, osh, etc) to be detected by mini tool?

i had wondered if this was the problem but i have tried cwm from market and tefnars recovery and had the same issue with both.
Thank you for your ionsight into this. it really has been bothering me.
ok everyone.... thank you all for your help in getting the matter resolved. it was an issue with recovery and i am now running with twrp instead of cwm or tefnar. miui is now running and am going to see what kinda fun i can have with it. Thanks again everyone!!!
I have read pages and pages of solutions but none worked for me, there was always a problem so I decided to post it here.
My Transformer Prime is bricked. I was on build 9.x.x.28, unlocked and rooted. Had recovery on and installed cyanogenmod 9 rc1. But then the cgm9 got stuck on the boot screen for like 6h so I decided to wipe the device because I thought (stupid) that I would be able to just boot ICS after. Now I am stuck in the eee pad screen or I can go to the screen with the usb logo and wipe data... I just did something that removed ClockWork Recovery and the android logo on the screen with the usb and wipe data...
When I still had CWR, I played around with it and I think I deleted everything in the internal memory... just fyi... if any other info is needed feel free to ask.
Any help appreciated!

Thank you, i'll try later and let you know. But can I install a rom from support.asus.com? Or does it have to be modified in any way?

Didnt work. Pushed recovery and rom with fastboot but when i restart, there is no way to get to recovery. Instead it goes straight to the screen with the wipe data and usb icon. No android icon.

whats about trying to flash a bootimage via odin?
Thanks, I will try it tonight. My main problem is that I don't have the android icon when I get to the screen with fast boot and wipe data. I wasn't able to find anyone thread with that problem so I don't know what that means. When I push clockwork recovery with fastboot it says ok in fastboot on my computer and the blue bar on my prime is full but then when I reboot the tablet, and I try to get to recovery it wouldn't give me the option and instead goes straight to the fastboot menu.
Could you give me any instructions how to do it with odin and what files I need?
Thank you
BestBuy rocks
Thanks guys but I just went to BestBuy and they told me I can pickup a replacement at another store tomorrow morning. The only question they asked me was what is wrong with it and I said it wouldn't boot. I don't know if that's normal practice or I'm just lucky that the guy didn't care or know that I voided my warranty...
My 2nd topic in about 20 mins!
I've just flashed Siyah Kernal but made a mistake and flashed an older version accidently (I flashed 1.3 instead of 1.7)
Now my phone doesn't boot, it gets to the loading screen where it displays model etc and then stops. I can boot into recovery, I was thinking I can just flash the other kernal but I don't have it on my storage.
I wiped cache then davlik cache and then installed the old version and rebooted and now I'm stuck
I'm thinking just wipe data and reflash ROM but I've never messed around with kernals before so I don't know if it's any different
Help is GREATLY appreciated!
If you have an external SD, transfer the updated 1.7rc1 syiah to that, and flash it from recovery.
Should solve the problem.
If it doesnt, wiping and reflashing the rom, then the corect kernel should work as well.

I would start with that.. if any problems occur, then go to wiping.
I would wipe delvic and cache
Update Syiah myself a few times without a wipe. Although I am sure some would recommend a wipe.
I've just put my external SD into its adapter so that my laptop can read it and I get write protection errors.
Can I just wipe data/factory reset and reflash the ROM to gain access to my phone again and then flash the kernal?

Yes if you factory reset and wipe, then install rom, then you can flash the kernel and enjoy all the benefits!:victory:
aaaaand I'm back!
I noticed the little slidy thing on the adaptger and put it the other way and it worked, having that "lock" is pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
I'm all sorted now, I would be useless if it wasn't for the people on this forum
Thank you all so much for the help, whenever stuff like this happens I overact and instantly assume my device is bricked
Thanks to you all!

indeed and 3 cheers for XDA, the best place to get help.
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy Vibrant that was running Android 2.1. I rooted the phone (successfully), and installed Slim Bean 4.2.2 plus Google apps. Everything was going smoothly and I was reinstalling apps and data when I noticed that I had no network phone connection. Slim Beam did not seem to recognize the sim, and I came up empty searching for networks. I removed the sim and put it in another phone, and everything was fine.
I decided to restore the previous android 2.1 (which I had backed up) using ClockWorkMod Recovery. I did restore, then reboot. Now the only thing I get is the initial screen ... Vibrant and Samsung in bold white letters. I have tried repeatedly to launch CWM Recovery, without success.
Is it time for a new phone?
Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions
Thanks for the suggestions, but my phone is somewhat "challenged." I got it for free (that's the good news). The previous owner gave it to me after the power port/usb connector got damaged (that's the bad news). As I understand it, all the suggestions require a usb connection ... something I've been able to live without for the last year. Maybe I should give it a shot and get the usb port repaired, or maybe it would be cheaper/smarter to go shopping. I'm going to need time to think about that.
Thanks again to both of you.

If there's any way you can get into cwm mode then you can first add the zip file of the custom rom from your pc to your sd card via a card reader and then try to flash a new rom. I think the problem you are getting at the moment is because you did not format dalvik cache and some other things before flashing

I keep trying to launch CWM Recovery, but no such luck. The initial screen with Samsung and Vibrant appears, then nothing. I have to pull the battery to turn the phone off. I did wipe the dalvik cache before installing Slim Bean, but not before the reboot. Thanks for following up, but I've got a bad feeling about this.

The last resort is probably the samsung service center. They'll repair it for a hefty price but that'll be less than the price of a whole new phone..... sorry about your loss
