Unfortunately since I'm a new user I could not place this question/observation in the development forum. All of the info for this ROM looks spectacular:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332644&page=21
Guess I'm just a bit confused as to how in post #203 it is indicated that this ROM (R2)will be a complete port of ICS and that it is running stable on the devs phone. My understanding is that the source for ICS has not been released yet so how was a port of ICS created?
It's not a port. It's a themed GB ROM with ICS apps and extras.

Correct, it is indicated throughout the thread that the current RC1.5 it is a themed IHO GB ROM but there are multiple posts referencing RC2 which is also indicated to be running stable on the devs handset and that RC2 is a pure port. Hence my confusion.

Hi all,
I don't know if this is the correct place to post this one, this is my first time posting it, but will try it
Downloaded yesterday GalnetMIUI Version 2.11.26 and installed, with also MIUI Ice Cream Sandwich theme (Black Ice 2.3 22/11) by cgvelmax
ROM download location:
Results: very stable ROM,good battery performance, faster opening of websites (due the framework of ICS),faster responding, and a keyboard that's corresponding with the theme, (blue colored when typing)
ICS Version 4.01
See screenshots, I made from my phone
Enjoy

Good, good. Poll showed up. CM9 all the way.
Who uses ICS? That's what I voted, currently happy with GB and Verts beautiful theme. Will wait for a more stable/official release before moving to ICS. My setup is stable and works like a charm.
I also use GB, but i did use airbus 360s rom wen i did run ics, so i voted for other ics rom.
andyx rom ...... just awesome.
Have been using REMIX but am considering CM9 seeing the current results!
Every andyx rom since 3.0. I hope noone ever has to look at my flash counter!
CM9.
I have found the battery life, performance, and overall stability astonishing.
Outstanding work from the team.

LPB?
No option for stock ICS on your poll.
Stock LPB is the best ICS ROM yet for the sgs2

I am on Remix using Aus i9100t. I am a fairly heavy user and have always run custom roms. Remix is a nice rom, but not quite ready for daily use in my circumstance. Its only little issues like random lags on dialing and answering plus USB storage via PC not working (mtp OK but slow). Apart from that, fast and fluid. I want to try another but I hate configuring after wipes!!

Andy and Simlistics are the same
Only the signal/batt bar is different..
Andy is using Simplistics rom..
Pure ICS is my personal fav, comes across as a very good ICS rom based on Samsung ROM, but skinned nearly 100% like CM9
Fast simple, and stable.
now using Deep Core ICS rom , but will try AndyX rom lately
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions &

I want the same ICS rom as Galaxy Nexus, what can i do for it? Nexus has pure ICS? It is already full version or beta for SGS2? Thanks
........?
Try a rom from the Android development section that offers a full AOSP feel.
Resurrection Remix, Spike's Pure ICS, Wanam's ICS themed ROMs all come to mind, but I recommend Resurrection Remix as it's very close to the pure AOSP experience and have had virtually no problems with it.

And will be ofiko pure ICS from Samsung or custom roms only?
Get a nexus then dude. Or try the custom roms in the dev section.
Try Cyanogenmod 9 or Bezke ICS as he is using the full icecream sandwich holo (theme) very nice feel free to check out the screenshots.

I think only bezke ics, cm9 and aokp roms have pure ics ui

I'm running Hydrog3nics AOKP. No problems here, except the obvious CM9 bugs...
So I have ICS installed (released a couple days ago) but the bloatware and touchwiz make it hard to use without frustrations. I've been using checkrom before this. Is there or will there be a clean ICS release soon? How long does it take for pro devs to build one? Thanks

I can't seem to find anything based on the latest official rom released on March the 13th... Aren't the others based on unstable/beta ICS roms?
Might take a bit longer than three whole days for Devs to build a rom might even wait for a better release .

Don't flash Remics UX JB, they are working on a new ROM built from source with twiz launcher etc. The current build will cause imei/loss of baseband errors.

i am planning to flash remix ux thanks
i have to wait for the next build
GB: CM7 with Eugene's Streamline kernel (good luck finding a mirror somewhere for this kernel)
ICS: Slim ICS with subZero kernel
JB: Toss up between CM10 + Devil and Hellybean (I'll test Slim Bean when development for it is much further down the road)
All of this just what I've used as daily drivers over the past OS updates.
Note: Google is your friend. If you can't find Vibrant ROMs then flashing them should be out of the question.
