[Q] Remove pin-code - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have access to my email from the office. (Exchange)
Unfortunately this means that I have to enter a pincode each time I want to unlock the screen.
I understand the meaning of this pincode...
But is it possible to remove, so I just have the ordinary screen unlocker.
I have it on my phone
HTC Sensation
and my tablet
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Just go to settings/(location and) security/set up screen lock and make it "none" or set something else (like a pattern, etc.).

Unfortunetely is is not possible cause the phone content is encrypted
after getting access to my office email-server.
I think it downloads a certificate when Im setting it up.
So when I go in to settings,to option to disable is gray,
and can not be choosed :-(

Got the same issue Samsung ICS
Hi,
Have you found a solution for this? I'm suffering for the exact same issue
Anyone could help us with this?

[Q] Question about lock screen pin with Exchange setup

Hi Guys,
Well i hope this is not a dupe post, however ill give it a shot.
So i have my new Android phone that is setup with Exchange syncing from work. There is a PIN number that is forced onto my phone which is ok, however coming from an iphone they had a really neat feature where i could set the timeout on the PIN to say 15mins, then anytime i used my phone during that time i didn't have to enter in the PIN. This was ok with me. However since moving to Android, it seems that when i set the PIN and the screen lock feature to say 2 mins (so the screen will turn off quickly) when i wake it up the phone asks me for a PIN. It is starting to get quite annoying.
Now before you all jump on the security bandwagon, i want to first say i am happy with having to enter the PIN, however i was wondering if there is an app or solution out there that could make it similar to the way the iphone handles the PIN timeout.
I am using a carrier supplied phone, so no rooting or hacks have been done to the phone yet.
Does anyone currently know if there is any way to add in the PIN timeout feature (or whatever it may be called) so that when i wake my phone from sleep within a certain time, the PIN will not be asked until that timer has been met?
The apps i have seen do NOT work when exchange sync is enabled.
Any help would be really appreciated.
cheers
Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on my question?
Thanks.
There's a version of email with the security requirement disabled. This would allow you to set your own password requirements and screen time out.
Where could I find this replacement email app?

[Q] Too many pattern attempts - LOCKED

Hello everyone.
Today I left my phone (galaxy S2) in my cousin's hand, and he tried to unclock my screen lock pattern. After too many attempts, my phone got lcoked and it asked me to sign in using my google account. I did so, and the phone got unlocked.
But when I press the lock button, or the phone gets locked automatically and I press the lock button to unlock it, the "too many pattern attempts" screen comes back again. Also my sim card is not being detected even though its there.
I have tried rebooting the phone, disabling the screen lock patten in security settings, disabling google account. Nothing has helped so far!
When you disabled the screen lock setting, what happens? You could try booting into recovery and wiping cache. If that doesn't work, then you'll probably have to factory reset.
When I disable it, nothing happens, as in it shows that it is disabled on the security settings. But when I press the lock button, the too many attempts screens comes back again. I tried a fctory reset too. Its still there! This is so frustrating!
Flashing a new rom should do the trick.
No you don't have to Flash
Try this please:
It was all about this "Two-Step Verification" security of google!
I tried everything... and I mean EVERYTHING (except flashing my XooM), but at the edge of giving up, I signed into my google account and issued an "Application Specific Password" for Xoom from my Google account.
I used my [email protected] with that Application Specific Password and it worked. (do not enter spaces in the password)
There is one solution
Hello,
I had similar problem with my Motorola Xoom WiFi. My friends was playing with my tablet and they was trying to guess my login pattern. Unfortunately sign in via Google account did not worked and WiFi network was turned off. So I was looking for way how to unlock it without root access.
Finally I found it. I wrote an application which turns on WiFi. It is quite simple. There is one requirement, you have to have enabled debuge mode. After installing app via IDE (eg. Eclipse) WiFi is connected to known network and you can log in with your Google account. There is also possibility to set network parameters in app code before compilation.
I hope this helps someone with this problem. At the end I want apologize for my poor english

Sometimes simple is best. If you saved the rom, go into recovery and restore the saved rom.

[Q] Bypass Pattern Lock

First of all, I know this has been posted before regarding other devices, but I couldn't find anything about this phone.
Here's the deal, my friend passed away on Friday night, and suicide was highly suspected. His parents very much want to be able to unlock his phone and find any reasons that may point to suicide. They have exhausted all of the pattern lock attempts possible, so now it's stuck at the recovery option.
The phone is definitely on stock, and most likely hasn't been rooted. When I try to unlock it, I can see the actual homescreen in the background before the password recovery screen pops up. The phone is still active, so I can call it and text it if that can help bypass the lock screen in any way.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Wellp, none of the glitch methods I found online seemed to work. But I did manage to get into the phone.
I realized that Firefox/Chrome/Whatever will probably have his password for gmail saved. So his parents let me on his laptop and I managed to find his gmail password in the saved passwords and reset his pattern lock.

[Q] password bypass/reset

My cousin has a galaxy s2 but he has memory loss due to a concussion so he always forgets his phone and gmail password. but he likes being proud n **** so he never tells us the password for safe keeping. is there a app we can download to bypass his lockscreen without deleting everything? also its a stock galaxy for atnt
Not that I know of.
You could try and change the lock screen image to something that might trigger remembering the password.
Or
Change the lock screen to face unlock. This will unlock the phone when your cousin looks at it by recognizing his face.
Go to settings. Privacy, security. And lock screen.
!This is not as secure as a password!
Sent from a amazing phone with 2 galaxys
Hi,
get him a Nokia 3310
if he cant remember - he shouldnt use this kinda phone, just sayin
Greetz

[Q] [HELP] Lost screen lock pin on Xperia Go, cannot access phone

My brother set up a lock screen pin on his Xperia Go and now cannot access his phone. He was messing around with the phone and ended up setting a pin which he does not remember. He's tried various combinations and nothing has worked.
A factory reset wouldn't be an issue but there are photos which he wants to recover.
The WiFi is connected and his Google account is in tact. He remembers the password to that but the device does not offer any option to reset the pin. I tried installing a free and paid screen lock bypass app but none of them worked, I was going to try installing Screen Lock Bypass Pro through the web market but it says the device is incompatible with it.
The phone is stock, it has not been rooted or modified in any way.
Can anyone please help recover the photos?
