Hi All
I'm about to buy a carrier Orange (FR) locked Atrix; so please help me to check out:
Can I root (onesuperclick) & install a generic custom rom such 2.3.4 WITHOUT bootloader unlocking (want to keep warranty)?
where can I find this generic 2.3.4 and how to install?
thanks lot
Rooting isn't a problem. You'll need to unlock that bootloader in order to install custom roms though..

Thanks lot for replying. May I install any stock rom Gingerbread (not my own carrier specific one witch is just 2.2!) only by rooting?
All those gingerbread roms are custom roms so no there either I think..
No if your phone isnt unlocked bootloader you can only install your providers ROMs

i have read for a long time and try some roms who didint say req bootloader unlock but all stops on sonyericsson (bootloop) maybe it is here someone who try and work with a specific rom ...
Maybe they aren't saying that you need unlocked bootloader, but if "kernel" is mentioned, then you need that kernel and kernel flash need unlocked bootloader.
Practically every custom ROM needs it's own kernel, so I'm afraid you'll have to unlock your bootloader.
My manual said that only if defects were caused by custom software, I'd might have to pay for the reparation.
Yes i know but i come from Htc where it was easy (root and redy to install everyting) and now i`m stuck but i don`t give up my garanty for this it maybe later it will apear some roms only with root
tnx all
1) the bootloader unlock allowed :no?
i have managed to root but i wanted to in stall custom roms.
2) if i cannot unlock does that mean i cannot install zips or install a custom recovery?
3) is there anyway to sim unlock the phone to all networks
Xperia u - ST25i
thank you for your help
2) Of course you can but just ROMs and Mods for locked Bootloaders. The thing you can't do is for example flashing a custom kernel to install KitKat, Jelly Bean or other Android Version above 4.0
3)yes there is own. Ask your provider for that. He can give you proper informations. But as far as I know it's pretty expensive to unlock the SIM Lock. Telekom in Germany wants 100€ for that..

2) yeah I managed to root and custom recovery. Apparently I'm not allowed to unlock my boot loader so I'm stuck on 6.1.1.B.1.54 :/
Is there a list of ICS locked boot loader ROMs?
3) Wowsers.
And thank you

1- Have phone replaced by Sony, not all countries' service centers are willing to do so and you must generally have it SIM unlocked first
Hello Dear ALL,

What firmware are you on, if your on 2.3.4 you can unlock, root and install custom rom but if you on 2.3.5 bootloader cannot be unlock. You have to use another way. Bootloader will not loose if you do factory reset.sory for my bad english

Hello,
I wanna Sim-unlock my phone (galaxy s5) but it's running on cyanogenmod. I know it's not possible to unlock sim with a custom rom but is it possible to unlock the phone if I flash a Stock Rom? And does the rom have to be with original branding?
Greets,
Kenny
EDIT:
No, it's not possible to unlock your phone on a custom firmware. Yes, you have to flash the original firmware with branding by the phone's original carrier then unlock it for all networks. This will work. You can use a custom firmware again after unlocking the phone.
Hello guys!
I have a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua E2303 from Orange with their custom firmware.(Their Apps and start-up logo, etc.)
It is possible to flash the sony stock firmware(marshmallow) to get rid of this custom firmware ?
Also after flashing the stock it is possible to install a custom recovery like TWRP?
If is possible to do those operations ,is there a way to back up the actual firmware in case of possible problems?
Im kinda new to this forum but i want to thanks in advance for your help and advices .
Thanks again and have a good one !
If you bought it from Orange, check that your booloader is unlockable (to do this, type this in the call menu: *#*#7378423#*#* then in Services info, rooting status you can see it)
If it's unlockable, you can flash recovery and root it after you unlock the bootloader (You will lose your DRM keys)
Here is a guide about rooting and unlocking.
With root, you can also remove those apps that you want.
(the guide is made for E2353, idk if the files will work for you...)
Also, here you can find the stock roms.

Thanks for your help buddy.
Unfortunately the bootloader is not unlockable.
But i took the risk and i flashed a stock firmware (E2303,Central Europe 1, 6.0.1) via Flashtool and XperiFirm. I got rid of all orange apps except one which is good ,my free space is around 4gb from those 8gb. Also the phone is more faster in menus and some apps.
I saw a thread here on xda , about rooting and flashing recovery with locked bootloader but need to downgrade to lollipop Here. I do not not know if it is worth the while.
Is there any way to unlock the bootloader even if it says that it can not ? Maybe Sony Support?
Thanks again ! Good Day !
Your welcome, also i sad to hear, that you can't unlock your bootloader Have a nice day
