Oh, I am not S-OFF but I didn't flash the new HBOOT and Radio. And so long I have no problems with it, I will stay with my old ones...

I see, so you don't have the new hboot, the new radio, the new boot (and therefore the latest kernel) and probably not the latest WiFi module.
I would personally class that as not having fully upgraded to the latest leak but hey...

I would guess that the release version is pretty close now.
I'll flash the system image over my existing install and do the complete rollback install later.
Thanks to Paul and his mysterious source for the leak.
Now when will someone get working on an ICS mod for us? I would but I don't have the skills to do it.

Correct and I am not alone.
PS. I will do this also with this leak (3.48.405.1) but did it already only with the last 3.41.405.1.
Two things I will be looking to see if they fixed since leak 2.
1. Cameras working in apps like "camera 360" and "Paper Camera", Google Talk video.
2. Some widgets not updating "Google Voice".
There appears to be a problem with the Honeycomb system image that has been uploaded. I downloaded it three times and have problems each time.
Can anyone confirm or refute?

The first thing is it is too small as compared to earlier versions. The second thing is that it won't install. The third thing is that I can't unzip it (I tried). I think the upload was incomplete.
The system image download looks suspiciously small 325mb vs. 450mb for leak 2. I think it is corrupted.

I can confirm all three. 321.80 mb, can not open zip, md5 does not match.

Yeah, JDownloader is running at 50kb a second as well.
Here is my mirror, should allow speeds way fater than the capped 50KB.

EDIT: iFile.it deletes files after so long. Unfortunately, they've made it towards you have to register to download, which is crap, BUT you can upload and download MUCH larger files than you can with MediaFire or a lot of other sites. It's just an RUU for restoration updated to the newest OTA, so anyone restoring starts with the two OTA's already installed.

If you've already done the Update via your Phone you have this already.
Although I'd encourage you not to update your device until a fully unlocked s-off solution is available.

no point installing this if you already did the 2 OTA updates that were released last week (one system, one software). this is just a complete system/rom/hboot/radio etc package that includes everything that has been released so far.

nothing, so don't use it (ok, well the OTA on the phone includes just the updated stuff, not the whole shabang. this is the whole shabang). this is mainly for devs to use to cook up ROMs. you could use it if your phone would not boot, and you had to reinstall everything. otherwise right now there is no good reason to use this.

I see that you're running gingerblur 4.5 on your atrix, so do i. You need to flash 4.1.8.3 official sbf and check for the gingerbread update regulary. I don't think the leaked gb roms are worth to spend time for now. They all have glitches which would effect daily usage.

The latest ROM has proven to be very stable:

The instructions are included within the thread. Not addressing the unlocking part since your signature already tells you got it.
As for being worthy, I say it is. I was in Gingerblur too, and the performance difference is big.

no glitches affecting any daily usage on me for 4.5.91. 100% functional, and 100% better than froyo.
Remains to be seen which version of GB will be the official release. The leaked versions everyone is flashing may not be the most current which will be offered up.
NOTE SHE/HE NEVER MENTION GB 4.5, actually if she/he indeed installed ota gb update.zip, with you instructions she/he will have a HARD BRICK
So first thing to find out is what actually she/he has installed

Thank you guys for the reply..I am a she btw(to the last post). I currently have kens beta gingerbread rom installed. I know my signature says otherwise..i haven't changed it. So... I guess I should not flash 1.8.3 cuz I would end up with a hard brick... so where to now from here if I wanted to test out the official ota coming soon?

I've got to say I'm very pleased... I have Gingerbread beta 4-5, hotspot enabled, webtop working perfectly via webtop-joe, Netflix - streamingly like it should. My Atrix feels like it should have come out of the box like this. I honestly don't think within the next year or two they will release another operating system better than GB and by then I'd probably be upgraded to the newest phone AT&T has... Atrix Quad core 3D with a 5" screen LOL

Probably you are safe if you actually installed Kenth by CDW or moto-fastboot (boot.img and system.img)
But if you actually run the update.zip or any update trought the normal android recovery screen and if you saw the following legend "updating AP20 bootloader" in that case you CAN NOT flash any SBF from Motorola

Not sure it applies to you, but I am sure the update will fail everytime if you have bootstrap recovery installed. As the update uses a bootstrap method itself, if it can't launch it's recovery properly it will fail.
The catch to that is that since the last two updates were OTA's there is no SBF for us to revert back to stock with.
So, you can take the downloaded OTA out of the /cache partition (Will be a zip file with todays timestamp), rename it to update.zip, place it on your sd card and flash through recovery. That's a work around

Looks like Photo-torpedo method worked!
Photon-torpedo.sh threw an error like it did in the last update but #Root Check says it's all good. Super User, Busy box, Titanium Backup are all happy with root.
Also no problem to go R/W with Root Explorer so maybe this update is not locked like the last one!

From what I've been told and understand, never ever take an update from the carrier. All the good stuff will be extracted and the bad left out with the next update of whatever ROM you are running... usually if not, find another ROM

Are you able to go s-off? Sounds like you might be since you haven't taken any OTAs of course depending on when your got your phone too. If so then you should do it.
There are ways to upgrade your firmware without taking it via OTAs.
There are several threads in development that address your concerns.

Firmware upgrade a must ?
Hi, I would love to try the MeanBean2.4 ROM, I understand that a firmware upgrade would be a must ? I'm on Viper4G2.0.2 ROM and if I do a firmware update I'm sure my Viper4g rom will not load or run correctly. Is there a way to reverse a firmware update ? Can I do it via my installed TWRP 2.3.3 ? Currently I have S-Off Lazy Panda, Hboot 1.12.111, Radio 1.02.12.0427.
I like the Viper4G ROM, but getting old, has minor issues, got Gogole now working on my Viper rom but can't update via Play Store..no big issues, but I would still like to have the option to go back to this ROM. I did a full backup (Sys,Data,Boot,Recovery,Cache) via TWRP. Would a restore fix any mess created by firmware attempt ? Could I even get to TWRP after firmware update or a botched update ?
Any input would be greatly appreciated

Reverting your firmware will indeed brick you AFAIK and you should be able to run Viper4G with the new firmware when I updated my firmware I was running an ICS rom I didn't notice any problems.

Well I think I'm going to try now, I still hope that by saving my original firmware file on my SD and then run TWRP Restore will get me back...or not ! lol Worse case I'll say goodbye to the Viper Rom... God help me, I love my EVO..ha haa

Your first screenie shows you are still on the older radio. You didn't do the update?

It appears you flashed the older PJ75IMG.zip your baseband should be 1119 as the last 4 numbers

Trying to learn each day, this stuff just moves pretty fast and hard to weed out the good and the bad posts. Really cool to get a nice direct and good advice.

I did checked this morning out of pure, morbid curiosity, but it wasn't available yet. Anyone had success pulling the OTA? I'm sure it's going to be a couple of days at least before we see it...

Can you post the OTA
Is it safe to assume that the OTA would fail if I'm S-Off with TWRP installed? I just S-off'd & rooted last night. Still running the stock ROM. Haven't made any other modifications other than uninstall a few preloaded apps.
What folder do I find the ota, so we can get this thing rooted?

S-Off is fine but you need the stock recovery to flash the ota. Also if you removed any stock software it may be a problem as well

I'm not rooted on this phone and unsure of how to extract the OTA without root access. If you know of a way, let me know and I'd be happy to do it. In the meantime, here's a couple of screenshots of the updated baseband and firmware versions.
Ill post once its finished downloading if someone else doesnt get to it first
IF youve already updated, the ota usually gets deleted after/during the reboot....if you postpone and reboot itll be either in the root of your storage or in downloads...

ah, of course. yes unfortunately i blew right through the install. this phone is locked down by my company's extremely strict corporate admin policies. gotta love working for the government...
