[Q] X10 Mini not receiving calls - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

My girlfriend has an X10 mini (E10i) on Vodafone Spain. Firmware 2.1-update1
The SIM lock has been removed and she is using it with a Movistar Spain SIM
Her first problem is that it's often extremely slow to react, gets stuck on screens etc. and occasionally selects the wrong things.
The second more serious problem is that it often doesn't receive calls. The phone will have full signal and be right next to her, but callers get connected straight to her voicemail, without the phone ringing.
Has anyone else had these problems with an X10 mini pro? I've done a fair bit of googling but not managed to find much out yet.....
Thanks in advance....
Bee.

Flashtool
I should have mentioned before, I intend to debrand the handset using the flashtool and instructions found here:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10738467
This should speed it up a little but I'm not sure if it will affect the call issue....

being cautious!
has anyone else successfully used the flashtool to change their x10 mini firmware to E10i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Generic ?
would like a bit of feedback before i take the plunge as it ain't my phone......

yes, you just have to download the right firmware (e10i for x10 mini; or depending on your carrier, e10a.. check first with e10i, and see if you will still get 3g. if not, it's e10a).

thanks very much for responding
do you mean i should try the e10i firmware first and then re-flash with the e10a if i have problems with 3G?

[Q]lost signal often on X10 mini pro

I just bought SE X10 mini pro for my gf,
from the start I bought, the signal is very unstable and often lost signal.
the bad things is the signal often lost when she want to make a call or sending a message.
I compare with my X2, same provider i have conclusion that there's problem with the gadget. we also upgrade the simcard but still same result.
any idea how to solve this?
and one thing, how to send a file to another non-android handset?
well... me too.. I've got lost Signal oftenly...
Anyone?

2.1 update in Australia, signal problems?

I updated my Vodafone X10 to 2.1 (2.1 has not been released for my product code yet) and I used global generic.
I noticed that after that I started having problems with signal drops, So I reflashed a few times but still the same.
I'm not saying it's the update for sure, since it could be a problem with my phone, but has anyone experienced this?
PS: I also replaced my sim card, and still have the same problems.

I'm with Optus and not Vodafone but I'm not experiencing anything like this.
im on Optus in Newcastle NSW and signal is good. never drops out but i get the occasional issue sending txt msgs. im on nordic 2.1 still.
Hmmm.
I think it might be my phone.
I downgraded back to 1.6, and although i havent had a any dropout yet, while comparing another nokia phone I have, i seem to get lower signal.
That's only in the hours or so since i downgraded.
I'll keep an eye on it, and report, but probably my phone being dead, and nothing related to 2.1
I have the same problems as well, i live in China.
I have singapore verision updated to 2.1, and then i always lose signal, i cannot make any phone call or people are quite difficult to call me.. this happen randomly
I flashed to global 2.1 when it 1st came out and experienced the same signal dropout that your talking about. My data signal kept dropping out and coming back. Got annoying. Eventually flashed to Optus 2.1 and everything is perfect. It's the global firmware, not your phone.
Try change your build.prop codes to the Optus au codes and see if you can use that firmware for Vodafone. Just root and delete all things Optus zoo

I have this problem in Newcastle, too. I've found 'reregistering' my phone on the network fixes it.

I too have just upgraded my X10 to 2.1 Generic. Im with 3 and have had poor signal for about 18 months (since Vodafone bought into 3). Since doing the upgrade, I now have HSDPA connections and the signal strength and quality of calls has greatly improved.
I am a optus user. After i upgraded the firmware to 2.1, my wifi just stops working. When i turn wifi function on, there is wifi logo appearing on the top of the screen and never detects any wifi access point. Anyone knows what is going on? Is that a bug of 2.1? as wifi was working fine with 1.6
IM from south Africa,on Vodacom/vodaphone and have the same issue with connection dropping on data, but found that it seems to be a tower problem or network problem rather than a phone problem,at home i have no issues like this but in far out towns with graham bell old technology in the towers the issue happens alot.

Rooting / firmware for the mini pro SK17a

Hi,
I have looked all over and cannot find the answer to this question. I read up on how to root with the sk17i firmware, but I have not seen anyone yet say whether the american SK17a phone can take that firmware or if it will mess up the bands.
Does anyone know if there is a different firmware out there for rooting/updating the SK17a model?
Thanks
I had a sk17a too, flashed to sk17i anyway, i was scared about basebands messing up too, but took the risk and its working perfectly.
So just follow the guide, if anything i prob got better reception

Cool, I was hoping that might be the case. With my Captivate when I finally went to the i9000 (international version) software the reception was way, WAY better... it was weird. I used to get 0-1 bars at my office and usually couldnt connect to data and once I switched I got full bars hsdpa all the time...

[Q] [X10 mini pro] 3g working, but gsm not :/

Hi, I'm polish and at the first i would like to sorry for my bad english.

First Xperia has problem with network. When I am in 3g network everything is allright, but when i want use gsm pasm (in my region isn't 3g) network 'is' but i can't calling and anyone can't call to me. I tried change basebands, switching from 3g to gsm, apply use only 2g networks etc but the problem still is. Do you have any ideas to repair this?
Second xperia has bricked bootloader (my fault). Are somewhere any instructions to repair this? i know that i must have setool or other box. one question yet... if i have only jtag, can i repair bootloader?
So i'm waiting for answers.
Greetings, Piotr

[Q] Network quality issues

Hi all
I got a Mini pro a couple days ago from my bro. I let it to my wife (finally she got a smartphone lol).
The problem I have with it is that it seems to be very picky about the network quality.
My old X10 mini pro is full (4 bars), my Wiko dual sim is full too (max bars) but the MiniPro is less than half bars.
More annoying, it happens calls just don't get to the phone (although it shows 0-2 bars) and get an SMS later notifying me of the missed call.
The thing is a made a call 5 minutes before, full network, I didn't move between both.
Strange, huh ?
ROM is official ICS.
Is this ROM fault? Network fault? Should I go Kitkat way (if so, I really need AZERTY hardware keyboard).
Thanks for any help you can provide.
You could try different baseband. What do you have currently?
