Hello guys, after much of my research on getting old market back on ICSunday ROM by jusada, I finally figured out how to do so.
So let's start.
1. Download Vending.apk (Attached) onto your phone and save it to your SDCard.
2. Get/Open Root Explorer and navigate to "/sdcard" copy "Vending.apk" from there.
3. Mount R/W in "/system/app/" and paste "Vending.apk" in there.
4. In "/system/app/" folder there would be a file called "8007005.apk" rename it to "8007005.apk.abc" (I don't prefer deleting system files, so I just rename them so as to get a backup in case anything goes wrong).
5. Rename your "Vending.apk" (the one you just copied) to "8007005.apk".
6. Change permissions of your "8007005.apk" to "rw-r--r--" and Change owner to Owner: 0-root and Group: 0-root.
7. Rename "MarketUpdater.apk" in "/system/app" to "MarketUpdater.apk.abc".
8. Navigate to "/data/data/" and delete folders called "com.android.vending" and "com.android.vending.update".
9. Reboot your mobile.
10. Finally if you don't see your market downgraded just head over to Root Explorer and navigate to "/system/app/", tap "8007005.apk", when the popup shows up tap "Install" and let it install like a normal apk file.
Voila you have successfully downgraded your market!

On Cyanogenmod, i uninstalled the Updates from Market under Settings/Apps and deleted MarketUpdater.apk.
There is a better way for those roms fixed on the new market. It's automated: search oldmarket on xda it's a free root app.
how to stop market updating itself? i revert to the old one then it update it self once again.

Use titanium backup or any other app that can freeze apps, to freeze market-updater.apk

ICS ROM already comes with updated 3.3.1, so if I uninstalled updates, the market still remained the same.

Grab yourself a copy of Root Explorer (Root needed), head over to "/system/app/", mount R/W and rename file called "MarketUpdater.apk" to "MarketUpdater.apk.abc", finally uninstall updates of market and it would stop upgrading itself.

if you have root explorer [or any other] then you just can remove all read write permission of marketupdater.apk and uninstall current updates

Don't know if manual install would work but there you go the APK. (Try copying it with root explorer to /system/app, remember to enale RW in root explorer)
Hello
I have one solution for you... You need rooted phone + a file manager like "root explorer" or "super manager"
First of all, download one zip rom and go into the archive in /system/app and copy "Talk.APK" on your sdcard. Next in the same repertory in your phone. Then it only remains for you more than to install it and that's all !
Bye
"Don't know if manual install would work but there you go the APK. (Try copying it with root explorer to /system/app, remember to enale RW in root explorer)"
Worked like a charm
Tnx
My camera app hasnt worked since 1.5.3 and it really bothers me that i keep getting a FC. I even did a factory reset with no luck so if anyone can send me the file that would be terrific!
you can always just extract it from one of DJ Steves .zips , thats what I did when I noticed mine was missing all of a sudden
Heres you go, place in system/app and set permission the same as other apps in /system
dont forget to my thanks button.

I did everything you told me to do using root explorer. I replaced the camera app with the one you provided in the system/app folder. I'm still getting a forceclose..
I pressed the camera.apk in root explorer and hit install and it said application not installed...

You have first remove old one and the install the app you have downloaded. Use titanium backup to remove old.

So in order to uninstall it with T.B. you have to hit backup and restore and scroll down to the camera app and uninstall? i did that and i uploaded the new .apk to my sd card and it wont let me uninstall from there. I tried moving it to system/app but it says "You cannot paste here because the file system is read-only" so i go to change the permissions of the .apk but the permissions wont save...
deleted my camera app a few days ago
in root explorer, go to root folder(back until you cant go back anymore),
press mount r/w, which mounts the system read/write,
then move the apk to system/app and set permissions the same as other apps in system/app
I set mine to read write execute for everyone
should be good to go after install if not reboot to be sure
also test cam and videocam and take a photo and video to test
let us know if this works

So i rebooted it and the camera app showed up AND IT WAS WORKING WITH CAMERA AND VIDEO!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH its been bugging me forever!! You sir just made my day!
quite simple actually. glad I could help.
cheers.
Hey all,
Has anyone had a problem with android market update from v2.3.4 to 3.1.5 other then me. I tried all the tricks and followed all the steps that android market
help told me to do but it just won't work. But all my brothers and cousins got it! Help please
Connect your phone to WiFi for a night, the next morning, it will be in 3.1.5 (that happened to me)
Or you have to root your device to get it.

Have you tried manually installing the apk by replacing vending.apk in /system/app?
If not, that should do it for you. Get the apk and put it on your SD card. Using Root Explorer: find the apk and copy it. Navigate to /system/app and mount as r/w (the button to do so is at the top). Long-press the current Vending.apk and rename it to anything (ie vending.bak), then paste the new one. Long-press the new one and rename it to Vending.apk (I'm not sure if capitalization matters, so capitalize it just in case) if it's named something else. Long-press again and select permissions from the list. Change the permissions to rw-r--r--, so the box looks like this:
Owner: x x o
Group: x o o
Other: x o o
Where x's are checked and o's are not. Then reboot.
You should now have the new market. If you don't, remove com.android.vending-1.apk from /data/app or go to settings > applications > manage applications > "all" tab, find Market and select "uninstall updates".
It you don't have Root Explorer, there are free file explorers available with root abilities. ES File Explorer should work, you may need to enable root privileges in the app's settings.
You have to be rooted (and possibly s-off) to be able to do this. If you aren't rooted, you can try uninstalling updates from the Market and hopefully that will trigger it to update to the latest version.

First of all, to put it in /system/app, you're going to need to be rooted.
I use ES File Explorer, but you can use whatever you want. In any case, I'll write instructions for ES.
1. Go to ES's settings and then root settings and check "root explorer", "up to root", and "mount file system".
2. Navigate to your app wherever you saved it and long click > copy.
3. Navigate to /system/app and paste
4. Long click on the app you just pasted and go to properties
5. Click on the "change" button next to permissions
6. Set User: Read Write, Group: Read, Other: Read
7. Reboot your phone and hope for the best!
Note: The app still might not work as a system app.

paste the the facebook.apk in system/app/here and change the permission to rw-r-r
Make sure you are ROOTED.
For convenience I recommend install an app named ROOT EXPLORER.
*After installing, Download the Latest Facebook.apk extension file.
*Go to ROOT directory > then SYSTEM > then APP
*Paste your Facebook.apk file there.
*Long press on that Facebook.apk file and choose PERMISSIONS
*And Check as shown in figure.
Done

You are just modifying the current ROM, Not making the ROM.
If you over right with other ROM while flashing you will loose all the modified data.(like making a Facebook as an System App)
After completion I suggest take a backup of your device.
Edit: If you are getting error, then Move that Facebook file to your Memory Card. After that uninstall Facebook, make sure that FACEBOOK FILE IS NOT ANYWHERE IN YOUR DEVICE EXCEPT YOUR MEMORY CARD. If you find there exist any then Delete that.
Now you are clean, Move that FACEBOOK file from MEMORY CARD to SYSTEM>APP and move there.
After file gets moved, just click on it and choose INSTALL.
Done
