[Q] Nandroid backup to another Vibrant

The screen on my vibrant lost all color so I had to get a replacement from TMO. I had the "old" phone rooted but still using the stock ROM and everything else.
Is there a way to transfer all my apps and user data to the new phone? I tried doing a Titanium Backup and a Nandroid backup. I saw a thread for a HTC Hero but the file names don't seem to carry over to the Vibrant.
When putting Titanium on the "new" phone, it does not recognize any backups, even though I moved it to the ext-sd using root explorer. Going into "Batch" in TB, it does not recognize any apps other than stock. I tried moving the TB backup to various areas of the SD card with no luck. Obviously, the "new" phone is rooted".
Using Nandroid, I backed up the ROM. I can see the folder with the 5 files within. Opening ROM Manager on the "new" phone and going to "Restore", it doesn't see any backup. Like with TB, I tried moving this folder around to see if it helped but didn't.
I even reverted back to stock (again) on the "new" phone using Odin but it still can't see any backups.
Sure, I can easily re-download all of my apps but the data will be lost. I feel like an idiot with this because it sounds so simple (and maybe I am), but I would appreciate any help using noob language. Thanks.
If you have a backup of your nandroid its pretty easy to retore it to your new phone . First install RomManager . Once you have RomManager installed you should have a folder named "clockworkmod" in this folder is a folder named "backup" . Now that we have these folder we can transfer our backed up nandroid to "backup" folder . Now reboot to clockworkmod and do and nandroid restore of that backup we just transfered . Remember to also flash the correct kernel for your backup .
TitaniumBackup works the same way just install TitaniumBackup and replace the "TitaniumBackup" folder with your backed up TitaniumBackup .
Click the Thanks button if this helped you
Thanks for the help. I just needed the correct folders.
Nandroid backups from CWM recovery goes to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
Try performing the restore from CWM recovery instead of ROM Manager.
Remember to have the matching kernel flashed before you perform the nandroid restore.
TB backups go to /sdcard/TitaniumBackup
Keep in mind /sdcard is the internal sd.

What files can i delete?

Hello,
Ive just reverted my phone back to stock and im wondering if i can safely delete some of the files from my SD card including the Clockworkmod folder and the zip files i used to install CM7.
Thanks
yes you can delete those.
the clockworkmod folder only contains your backup.
the zip is just used to flash the rom. if you ever need it again, it can be redownloaded
thanks for the info

Nandroid Backup?

I can't do a search it says search is disabled. I'm currently on rooted stock and want to make a nandroid back up of my phone. I got the recovery app installed and currently booted to the recovery screen. I see the backup & restore tab, but then it goes to internal SD card and External SD card. Which one do I want to back up. I'm guessing internal SD card, and where does it save it too. Can I take the saved file and put it on my computer for safe keeping? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Again I did try to search, but it's broken.
If your using CWM recovery it will be under the folder Clockworkmod, then under the subfolder Backup or Backups. And it doesnt matter if you save on internal or external, of course you have to have enough space on which ever you select though. You can copy this folder to comp to keep it, if you decide to edit file name dont put any spaces in it use . or _ or you may run into issues.
Also, when it asks internal or external it's asking where you want to backup to. I usually choose external so I can format internal if needed.

Thanks guys for clearing it up. I appreciate it. I just flashed a rom, and didn't like it then flashed back to stock and restore via nandroid and it worked flawless. Thanks again for the help.
Nandroid Backup error message
I have a stock photon that I rooted. I have both CWM and Rom toolbox pro installed. When I go to to a Nandroid backup it trys to boot into recovery and says "FAILED to boot 2 Starting RSD mode". If I reset the battery it boots fine. Android Recovery does the same.... Suggestions?

[Question][Rom] How to recover backups?

So, I'm always told to back up my rom before flashing a new one. So I do that. However when I go into CWM and try to flash my backup back, it says it doesn't exist.
It's looking for .ZIP files. There are files in a folder that I created/made with the backup. Should I put all the backup files into a zip file so that CWM will flash that back?
Or is there a way to flash those files, because CWM says install ROM from SD Card?
Please help, sorry I'm new to this.
I know I have the data, but how do I get it back?

[Q] TWRP Back up location

Hello.
When I made a backup with TWRP I saved it on my PC.
Since then I have re-flashed TWRP.
Now under the TWRP folder there is now backups folder, or the one with the code after it. There is only the TWRPS File. (Small text file)
I need help as I need to restore back to this backup!
Many thanks.

Move the file from your pc to your phone. If you have an external SD I'd definitely recommend you put it on the external SD instead of internal
